Shame on American “Exceptionalism”

Shame on Sarah Palin and shame on the failing John McCain campaign for targeting Barack Obama’s association with so-called domestic terrorists. That’s nothing more than race-baiting!

We all know that it isn’t true. Well it is true that Obama knows William Ayres, but only superficially and only because Ayers is Obama’s neighbor and they happened to serve together on a couple of boards. Ok, and Ayres did host a fund-raiser for Obama. What’s the big deal? Racism – that’s the big deal!

Oh yea, those backwoods dying racist Republicans want to make a big deal of something that happened long ago when Obama was only eight years old. Give us a break! They just want to tarnish the amazing image of our first Black President.

Bill Ayres is now a distinguished professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago. The fact that Ayres and his wife Bernadine Dohrn were once far-left Weatherman terrorists who may or may not have been complicit in several bombings that caused American deaths is old news. What’s that got to do with Obama’s friendship with Ayers today?

You know there’s a lot of self-righteous talk from so-called “American Patriots” about how Ayers and Dohrn’s group bombed United States Capitol in 1971 and then they bombed the Pentagon in 1972. Gee Whiz!!! Talk about myopic American exceptionalism! The Capitol bombing was a heroic protest of the US invasion of Laos, and the Pentagon bombing was a necessary retaliation for the US bombing raid in Hanoi. And when they bombed the U.S. Department of State in 1975 it was a righteous response to the U.S. escalation of warfare in Vietnam.

The other bombings were too numerous to mention but in every case Ayers and Dohrn were true to their Marxist revolutionary values. That’s what counts! But Oh No! That’s not what Joe Six Pack or what that well known Hockey Mom want to see. They want to tarnish Obama for his association with the “unrepentant” Ayres. Why? Get this; they say that a person’s character can be known by the company he or she keeps. Isn’t that a tad bit prosaic???

Today we live in a multicultural society where different languages are spoken by people of many different races and origins. We Americans hold a vast array of cultural as well as political values. There is no “One” American value. All values must be counted as equally valid. America is not exceptional. America is but one of many nations, and we must take the lead for change in this new hopeful world Obama will help to create. If Obama wants to associate with radical extremists who hate America, that’s all to his credit. He can speak their language and appropriately deal with their cries for justice. He will bring Americans to a fuller understanding of what we must give back to the world. Can we really ask for more in a president?

Today, based on a couple of articles at the New York Times, far-right blogs are supposedly revealing more about the Obama/Ayers association. So what? So what if Obama and Ayers had a relationship going back many years, to the 1980s? So what if the far-right offers “detailed visual and written evidence of the longstanding and intimate relationship between Senator Obama and radical anti-American Bill Ayers?”

What do these “revelations” actually tell us? Only that Obama doesn’t see the same America as the dominant culture sees. But, is this really wrong? Obama isn’t really “like us” because there is no “Us.” That’s the illusion Obama hopes to overcome. Obama is a man of the world – a renaissance man – a man of many cultures – not an American exceptionalist!

The far right is trying to show that Obama’s willingness to have many “dangerous” associations represents a pattern of consistent lack of judgment. They are completely wrong. Obama doesn’t have bad judgment. He’s a brilliant man. He knows exactly what he is doing.

Reaction continues to the decisions of the 218th General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church USA (PCUSA), which took place between June 21 and June 28. The assembly nullified proscriptions against sexual behavior outside of marriage and called for a vote to delete the church’s constitutional standard requiring fidelity in marriage and chastity in singleness. It also initiated a process that could remove mention of the Bible’s prohibition against homosexuality form the Heidelberg Catechism.

Obama’s New Pastor Worse than Wright?

During his interview with Tim Russert on Meet the Press Sunday May 4th, Obama stated three different times that (1) “It’s a wonderful church . . .”, and later (2) “I feel a great loyalty to that church . . .”, and even later, (3)“I am proud of my church and am committed to the values of that church.” Yet Russert never brought up questions about Obama’s new pastor, the good “Rev”. Otis Moss, nor did he question the long-time Black racist values of Obama’s beloved church.

Obama’s new pastor, “Rev.” Otis Moss, says that Obama’s church is “at war with the enemy.”And it would appear that “the enemy” is anyone who isn’t a black victim.

It’s hard to imagine why Russert failed to push harder for answers from Obama considering that national polls now show that Obama’s values are of great concern to the majority of Americans!

According to the Rasmussen national telephone survey, “Fifty-six percent (56%) say it’s at least somewhat likely that Obama “shares some of Pastor Wright’s controversial views about the United States.” That figure includes 26% who say it’s Very Likely Obama holds such views. At the other end of the spectrum 24% say it’s Not Very Likely that Obama shares such views. Just 11% say it’s Not at All Likely. . . Eighty-one percent (81%) of all voters are following the story somewhat or very closely.”

Christian Socialists ClaimThat God Has Turned Left

No God hasn’t “turned left,” but then, the Progressives have already redefined God in their own image with their endless heresies.

You can expect this kind of statement from the UK’s lefty Guardian, but reading the following article is very informative because it’s about the phenomenal growth of the left in Christian Evangelical churches in America. Here are some excerpts from God moves to the left

“America's evangelical Christians are anti-gay, pro-gun, keen on capital punishment and obsessed with lower taxes. And, of course, they all vote Republican. At least, that's what vicar Giles Fraser thought - until he went to meet them . . .”

“In the US , the Christian left has a more consistently evangelical DNA. Its great saint is Martin Luther King, and its signature tune is social activism. It's a religion of huge rhetorical power, managing to bring together the Bible's vision for a new social order as well as its call for individual transformation. Here, for example, is classic preaching from Baptist minister Tony Campolo, something of a guru to the new left-leaning evangelicals: "I have three things I'd like to say today. No surprise then that Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama have been dropping to their knees and taking to the pulpit to claim full electoral advantage of this disillusionment. And although many Christians will still be voting for Baptist minister Mike Huckabee, in many ways he is a throwback. Huge numbers have been persuaded that Obama or Clinton are the future of Christian America. . ."

The old generation of leaders are dying off or getting past it: Falwell went to meet his maker earlier this year (and I reckon he had some explaining to do), and the equally unpleasant Pat Robertson (the guy who called for the assassination of Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez) is pushing 80. These people were a big deal politically. Robertson made a bid for the presidency in 1988 and actually polled ahead of Bush in the Iowa primary. But they are yesterday's men. The new breed of mega-church pastor is cut from a very different cloth. . ."

Moderate or Slippery Sliding Southern Baptists?

Christianity is all about sharing the Good News of salvation through Jesus our Savior and about sharing God’s love for all. Most Christians are a loving people who are slow to judge and quick to forgive. These very qualities often make hard decisions even more difficult.

Today the growing voices of secular humanism are telling Christians that homosexuality is just another lifestyle choice. In many Christian denominations today, homosexual unions have achieved parity with heterosexual marriage.

Should over two thousand years of Christian teaching and tradition be abandoned because of pressure from the secular left? Has the Bible been reduced to nothing more than a quaint historical recipe book filled with arduous instructions and impossible to find ingredients? Are the Ten Commandments really nothing more than ten little suggestions?

We have written several articles about the gradual takeover of many Christian denominations by the far left. This began decades ago within the mainline Christian denominations. Inroads are now being made by the Christian left with Evangelicals and even within more “conservative” churches.

If we have eyes to see it is apparent that we are living in times where it is no longer easy to be a Christian. The strength of our faith will be determined by God’s grace and our individual abilities to withstand the derision and false charges that will be heaped upon us as Christians. Those who are swayed by the world, by money, by power, and by the so-called “authority” of the leftist media, will fall.

Broadway Baptist Church of Fort Worth, Texas is debating whether their church directory should include gay couples, or gay people individually but not as couples, or whether to omit all individual and family photos.

Here’s an excerpt from the Dallas Morning News article “Fort Worth's Broadway Baptist wrestling with listing gay members in directory

“ . . . Members were to vote Sunday after morning worship. But in a clear indication that they are divided over how accepting to be of homosexuality, they met for an hour and then postponed any decision until deacons make a recommendation on Feb. 24.

"We will continue to discuss this issue together as a church family," Kathy Madeja, chair of the deacons, said in a prepared statement. "We do not want to rush to make a decision, but rather to continue to listen to each other and for God's leading for our church." . . .

Homosexuality continues to be a vexing issue in American Christianity, with the Episcopal Church, United Methodist Church, Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), and other denominations facing internal conflicts over how accepting to be, particularly in regard to gay clergy.

The conservative Southern Baptist Convention recently began a program to reach out to gay people. But the program seeks to get them to change from what the SBC considers to be a sinful lifestyle.

Still, some Baptist churches welcome gay people as they are. One is Myers Park Baptist of Charlotte, N.C., which left the SBC years ago but continued to be affiliated with the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina.

When the state convention decided that its churches must refuse to "affirm, approve, endorse, promote, support or bless homosexual behavior," Myers Park turned itself in as not following such a policy. Last month, amid much publicity, state convention "messengers" voted to expel the church. . .”

Here’s a link to the Broadway Baptist (E-mail) Staff Directory. Include Broadway Baptist in your prayers and share your thoughts. You never know, God could be answering their prayers through your own impulse to respond. They will make a final decision on February 24th, 2008.

Note: Traditionally Christianity has always viewed the ACT of homosexuality as immoral. Notice that the emphasis is on the word “ACT” not the proclivity. Traditionally, Christianity does not condemn homosexuals for being homosexual but does condemn homosexual acts. Therefore, even in very conservative Christian denominations it is possible to be a homosexual in good standing if one does not engage in homosexual acts. In other words, if a homosexual chooses to remain celibate, he or she would be a traditional Christian in good standing.

Christians Fight Leftists With Blogroll

Yesterday Faultline USA launched a new public blogroll, Christians Against Leftist Heresy. The blogroll is already a big success and is growing hourly. I’ve been asked if you have to be a Christian to join the blogroll. My answer is “No, of course you don’t have to be a Christian to support traditional American Judeo-Christian values!” Regardless of your faith perspective, your voice is important and we welcome your views .

Pledging Your Moral Stand for Immigrants Rights

Note: This is part of a continuing series of articles concerning the epidemic leftist takeover of many venerable old Christian denominations – especially those denominations under the sway of the National Council of Churches. Links to previous articles are provided at the end of this article.

In the coming weeks and months your church may ask you to sign a pledge that you will take “a public, moral stand for immigrant’s rights.” If you oppose illegal immigration, are you ready for this faith challenge? Isn’t it possible to stand for human rights for immigrants while at the same time insisting that illegal immigration must end? Not so if your church has gone over to the left!

According to the American Religious Identification Survey (ARIS) 2001, 77% of America’s population can be classified as Christian. Although church attendance has slowly but steadily declined each decade, a vast number of Americans still attend church every Sunday.

For well over a decade America has been in the post denominational age. Religious denominational affiliation is not as important to American Christians as it once was. What has become evident, however, is that Christian denominations have become highly politicized and have been forming networks with other religions that share similar political philosophies.

A rose by any other name may smell just as sweet but a sweet sounding old denominational name isn’t necessarily a rose!

Most church attendees have no idea of what’s actually going on behind the scenes in their particular denominations. There’s a certain comfort in knowing that you are worshiping in the same faith tradition as your parents and grandparents. Unfortunately, the only intact part of that traditional faith may be the denominational name. Few Christian parishioners have any idea where the money they donate actually ends up. Here’s a clue:

The money sent to ministries sponsored by the NCC go to support a variety of Social Justice values – many of which are clearly Marxist/socialistic values: communal salvation (as opposed to individual salvation), open borders, sanctuary for illegal aliens, an immediate end to the war in Iraq, and eradicating America’s Whiteness (White Privilege) once and for all. Warfare conducted by a nation (bad) is not viewed in the same light as a revolution (good). Social Justice, born of Marxist Liberation Theology, promotes the view that Jesus was a revolutionary leader and any revolution by an oppressed people against the established order is considered a Christian duty. Need I go on?

Yes perhaps I do need to go on. You may seriously doubt everything I’ve written so far. So let me issue this challenge. Go to the far left Disciples of Christ and other left-leaning denominational web pages listed at the end of this article and see it for yourself. Then search your own denominational web pages to find similar sentiments, cunningly placed weasel words, similar ministries, and shared networks and links.

If you are a member of any denominational church in America there’s a good chance that in the coming weeks and months you may be asked to sign a pledge that you will take “a public, moral stand for immigrant’s rights.” Many of the United Methodist, United Church of Christ, Unitarian Universalist and the Disciples of Christ churches actively support The New Sanctuary Movement. Other mainline denominations and some Evangelical churches support other pro immigrant movements. Often you can find links to the New Sanctuary Movement and similar pro immigration links on your denominations’ World, Global, or immigrant ministries web pages.

Here’s part of The New Sanctuary Pledge:

. . .We stand together in our faith that everyone, regardless of national origin, has basic common rights,including but not limited to: 1) livelihood; 2) family unity; and 3) physical and emotional safety. Wewitness the violation of these rights under current immigration policy, particularly in the separation ofchildren from their parents due to unjust deportations, and in the exploitation of immigrant workers. Weare deeply grieved by the violence done to families through immigration raids. We cannot in goodconscience ignore such suffering and injustice.

Isn’t it interesting that the left always stresses immigrant rights but never immigrant responsibilities, and conversely, the left always stresses American citizen’s responsibilities to immigrants but never mentions American citizen’s rights?

Among other open border sentiments the pledge states that you will “Protect immigrants against hate, workplace discrimination, and unjust deportation.”

The Sanctuary folks are big on pounding home Biblical quotations about how Christians must appropriately deal with the stranger. According to their socialistic view there is no other option for a Christian. The notion that any Christian who opposes illegal immigration could actually act with Christian charity toward an illegal immigrant is totally foreign to the left. It is impossible for the left to understand this because the Marxist left does not recognize individual actions apart from community action. This is why Marxist theology dismisses the possibility of individual salvation apart from community salvation. As a matter of fact, when a Marxist Christian talks about salvation it doesn’t have anything to do with the great beyond. Salvation has to do with the earthly here and now. Here’s the Liberation Theology formula: Faith= Community Action=Works=Revolution=Salvation=NOW.

Christians who oppose illegal immigration are painted as racists, nativists, xenophobes, or worse, Nationalists! Here’s one of their favorite quotes:

“You shall neither mistreat a stranger nor oppress him, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.” [Exodus 22: 21]

Naturally the leftists have chosen to ignore those Biblical passages dealing with the requirements of following the law of the land, immigrant assimilation, and immigrant responsibility. When any opposing Biblical quote is tossed back at a Sanctuary type, the usual response is that “Hilter used that quote!”

The Contender pointed out:

Assimilation was rewarded by God in the Scriptures as He gave the laws for governing Israel.
This can be seen in this passage:

Exodus 12:48,49"But if a stranger sojourns with you, and celebrates the Passover to the LORD, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near to celebrate it; and he shall be like a native of the land. But no uncircumcised person may eat of it.”

. . .In chapter 13 of the apostle Paul's Letter to the Romans, the English translation reads, "Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore he who resists the authorities resists what God has appointed..." (Romans 13:1-2). Clearly, this is advice to Christians to follow the laws of their nation and to respect the laws of other nations. . .

Although Christianity encourages acts of charity, we cannot be both charitable and law breakers. We cannot rob Peter to pay Paul. The Archbishop of Mexico City should be encouraged to prevent Mexicans from coming illegally to the U. S. He should encourage Mexicans to work for Christian social change in Mexico instead of criticizing U. S. immigration policies. Unless the Mexican state changes, many Mexican citizens will never be able to have a fulfilled life. Nor can they find fulfillment by breaking U. S. immigration laws. To push the poor from your door to your neighbor's door is not an example of Christian charity.

On October 8th you will be asked to join with many other left leaning Christian denominations in a day of prayer and fasting because “This morally abhorrent, and disastrous war . . .must end!" If you support our war efforts in Iraq, are you ready for this faith challenge?

This is from the NCC news release of September 12, 2007:

"This war must end!" say the religious leaders in their statement about the interfaith fast. "We must end the shattering of Iraqi and American lives by offering American generosity and support - but not control - for international and nongovernmental efforts to assist Iraqis in making peace and rebuilding their country, while swiftly and safely bringing home all American troops." . . .

The leaders of these many faith communities are inviting millions of Americans to organize joint interfaith events in local communities on October 8 to fast and break the fast together. Groups may register their events at http://www.globalministries.org/administrator/www.interfaithfast.org where groups may also find an organizing toolkit to assist in putting together such gatherings. A church bulletin insert on fasting for Christians may also be found at the website. . .

"American culture, society, and policy are addicted to violence at home and overseas," says the organizing statement. "In our time, the hope of a decent future is endangered by an unnecessary, morally abhorrent, and disastrous war. Ending this war can become the first step toward a policy that embodies a deeper, broader sense of generosity and community at home and in the world." (Emphasis added by me)

Among those religious leaders organizing or endorsing this event are: Rabbi Arthur Waskow, Shalom Center, Philadelphia; Dr. Sayyid M. Sayeed, Islamic Society of North America, Plainfield, Ill.; Rev. Dr. Shanta Premawardhana, NCC Associate General Secretary for Interfaith Relations and Rev. Going Green Could Enslave Us ALL

What we don’t know about going Green could enslave us all!

But I’ll get to that in a couple of minutes. First let me give you my disclaimer. This article in no way negates the need for each of us to conserve resources and to do our part to enhance rather than harm the environment. I, for one, have allowed unruly nature to naturally sprawl around my home. Rather than scalp the forest around my house, I allow a nice natural place for all of nature’s critters to call home– including a variety of venomous snakes. Our natural plants and trees are drought resistant and don’t require watering. Our sidewalks were made by us from native stone from our very own land.

Like most conservatives, I have a strong respect for mother earth. On the other hand, I don’t have any respect for smarmy politicians or for hypocritical jet-setters who glom onto an issue because it’s trendy and personally enriching! Worse yet, are those political movements that hide their real agendas behind a noble cause and questionable science!

The Live Earth concerts are finally over (I did manage to tune in from time to time) and now I’m sending out an S.O.S!

Would someone point me to an analysis of the MEGA carbon footprint that this global event left???

In case you didn’t know, it’s very trendy to go Green. While watching Live Earth I did manage to learn quite a few tips on how to be Green.

I’ve learned that if I want to be green I need to stop flushing the toilet and find a bathing partner. I should also become a Vegan. I should use public transportation (which isn’t likely to exist when you live out in the wilderness) or ride a bike (which isn’t too easy on gravel roads). I suppose I should be driving an eco-friendly truck. Well, maybe I already am driving one and I didn’t even know it. As I said, everyone out to make a buck is glomming onto the Green eco-friendly trend. I just happened to visit Eco-Friendly Trucks and discovered that a half ton Chevy Silverado is also listed on their site. Oh well, just slap a Green sticker on anything and the mindless lefty minions will buy it!

So I’ve learned a lot. Most importantly, I learned that while everyone has a right to clean air and water, they also have a right to universal health care and the same standard of living!

I’ve also learned that Bamboo is the IN resource to replace furniture, flooring, fences, and our native grasses and trees, even bicycle rims, and cotton towels and sox. You probably figured that out if you watch the HG network.

Yes Bamboo is a grass and “Bamboo can store four times the carbon dioxide of a stand of trees of similar size and it releases 35 percent more oxygen” – unfortunately its now in short supply.

In the last few weeks I’ve been inundated by Green ads on TV for a variety of Bamboo products. Since the US doesn’t have a lot of Bamboo these days, it makes we wonder just what the Green trade agenda is. See, I don’t trust the Greens and I’ll tell you why.

By 1996 the Green Party was formed and the twelve years of growth had created a succulent fruit for the far-left movement: the watermelon. Green on the outside and red on the inside, the watermelon became the perfect metaphor for the Green Party with its deeply Marxist philosophy hidden underneath a thin environmentalist façade. If only the Greens had a sense of humor they might actually adopt the melon as their official symbol. . .

The British Old Socialists Unity Blog has a good account of the crisis in the lefty California Green party and its kinship to the Democrats (all Green is left even when they won’t admit it).

NewsBusters has a story about noted celebs cozying up to Global Green USA, a group founded by the former Russian General Secretary, and noted Communist, Mikhail Gorbachev.

United Nations Entrenched Within Most Christian Denominations

The left has been successfully mining the gullibility of American Christians for years. To prove just how successful the left has been in the infiltration of America’s Christian churches, take this little test.

Would you knowingly join, attend, support, or allow your children to be indoctrinated in a Christian church that . . .

*Promotes the moral equivalency of all forms of global spirituality
*Focuses on the creation of an earthly Utopia as opposed to “outmoded” notions of the Kingdom of Heaven
*Stresses “consensus” Christianity over sound theological foundations and Biblical authority.
*Teaches that all war is contrary to God’s will
*Is critical of capitalism and democracy
*Fosters the notion that American patriotism and sovereignty is akin to racism
*Accuses the U.S. of being the source of international poverty and unjust warfare
*Promotes a revolutionary leftist/Marxist social agenda often referred to as Liberation Theology
*Promotes multilateralism through international institutions where the UN and the International Court would overrule the U.S. Constitution
*Is actively working towards the implementation of a Global church and Global government overseen by the UN

Of course you wouldn’t knowingly be part of such a church unless you are a card-carrying leftist.

I hate to break it to you, but if you are an active member of any Christian church in America, it’s a strong probability that this is exactly what you are unknowingly supporting!

There are over 100,000 local congregations and 45 million Christians supporting the above goals – and most of these Christians don’t even know what they are supporting or that much of their money is going to tax-exempt leftist foundations!!!

Few Americans have any idea of how deeply entrenched the United Nations is within many Christian denominations. Fewer Americans understand the connections between the World Council of Churches (WCC), the National Council of Churches (NCC), the United Nations, and the inner workings of their own cherished denominations.

If most American Christians actually realized what was happening right beneath their collective noses, we might witness the 2nd Protestant Reformation!!!

Leftist/socialist agendas such as the UN document, Millennium Development Goals, are currently being implemented in many Christian denominations and some evangelical churches across America.

How could any good Christian object to these lofty sounding goals?

1. Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger
2. Achieve universal primary education
3. Promote gender equality and empower women
4. Reduce child mortality
5. Improve maternal health
6. Combat HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases
7. Ensure environmental sustainability
8. Develop a global partnership for development

But there are those few and far between dissenting voices that have are openly criticized these UN goals:

Last August, the country's largest public policy organization for women, Concerned Women for America, warned the National Council of Churches (NCC) not to become an advocate for the United Nations. The caution came after the NCC announced its plan to work with the U.N. in what Concerned Women for America calls "misguided attempts to eradicate global poverty," and "typical leftist agenda."

“The Concerned Women for America (CWA) criticism is in response to an NCC report entitled "Eradicating Global Poverty," released in February when the organization endorsed the eight U.N. Millennium Development goals. The study guide outlines ways in which NCC plans to work with the U.N. on its Millennium Project to reduce poverty. . .

CWA released a report critical of the NCC's program Tuesday. Crouse called the NCC's guide "a political document with a naïve view of the U.N. and a critical view of the United States. . .

Indeed, it is critical of capitalism and democracy. It is especially critical of the U.S. government as [an alleged] source of international poverty," Crouse continued. "The study guide is riddled with inaccuracies, overstatement and utopian rhetoric. . .”

Here's an excerpt from “The Emerging Global Church, ” a criticism of the UN and the Millenium goals.

Of course, there's more to this list than nice-sounding words. The motivational vision of a worldwide welfare system may have captured hearts around the world, but it actually serves the grandiose aims of socialist change agents who have little concern for human suffering. (Just look how government leaders are treating the victims of hurricane Katrina!) Yet, no other program has more effectively linked the evangelical church to the UN management system, which, from its birth, declared war on Biblical truth and values.[9] And no other program has more effectively drawn Christians into a process designed to manipulate the masses, undermine traditional values, silence resisters, synthesize beliefs, trade individual thinking for collective thinking, and train global citizens to serve the "greater whole."[10]

Evangelicals should read “Treason in the Church”

"Various churches and denominations claim to be undergoing 'transformation.' This word no longer refers to the humble sanctification of the individual believer. Rather, it now refers to an orchestrated, systemic and revolutionary overhaul of the global church, including the 'transformation' of cities, societies, cultures, marketplaces, and more. . ."

Meanwhile numerous mainline Protestant denominations and some evangelical churches are actively implementing the NCC’s: For the Peace of the World: A Christian Curriculum on International Relations

The left wants controversy to occur . . .

Based on a curriculum created by the Presbyterian Church (USA), the National Council of Churches of Christ (MCC's national equivalent) has published a six-session study guide entitled For the Peace of the World that aims to answer some of the above questions.

“I’d like a million copies of this out in the hands of adult Sunday school classes and youth groups,” said NCC General Secretary Bob Edgar, a Methodist minister and former U.S. Congressman. “I’d like a controversy to occur … inside those churches about what our place is in the world. I’d like curiosity to begin to say, ‘What is the faith community’s worldview today?’”

Here’s a sample of this leftist agenda from the For the Peace of the World study guide:

The post 9/11 world has changed America's self-image and its image around the world, Kireopoulos writes.

This situation has caused Christian leaders ... to ask questions about where we are going as a nation," Kireopoulos says. "Have we allowed fear to manipulate us? What is the role of our country as a global citizen? What does our Christian faith teach us about individual and collective actions in the world?

The curriculum offers six study sessions on the following topics:
Is America Number One?
Fear, Security and Love
Is America God's Favorite Nation?
Poverty in a Rich World
Self-Interest and World Citizenship
Preventing War With Peace.

Here’s a review of this study guide by Krista Shaffer, a research associate with Hudson Institute's Bradley Center for Philanthropy and Civic Renewal.

For the Peace of the World: A Christian Curriculum on International Relations offers a similar idea that an America pumped up by the idea of having God’s favor causes conflict. The authors leave Christianity intact, but put forward multilateralism through international institutions as a way to rein America in – and as the only real Christian option . . .

While the Quakers, among many other mainline denominations, are promoting this study guide as appropriate for younger and older adults, what about it’s editor, Antonious Kirepoulous, NCC associate general secretary for International Affairs and Peace??? Do you think he just might have an agenda? Well, just take a look at what he promotes in the quote from him below.

“The United States government has offered a series of justifications for the war in Iraq, including the need to prevent the spread of weapons of mass destruction, the desirability of planting a new democracy in the Middle East, and the need to destroy a major base for terrorism, all of which have been proved false or ill considered as events unfolded.”

The NCC point of view of this war in Iraq is informed by our belief that all war, though sometime used to overcome a greater evil, is contrary to the will of God, and an affront to God’s creation. If scripture is our guide, then we are called to seek peace (Matthew 5:9) and to turn our swords into plowshares (Micah 4:3-4.) . . ."

Is there an Unholy trinity working behind the scenes within America’s Christian Churches?

The UN, working through the World Council of Churches and the National Council of Churches, is no longer shy about implementing a leftist global political agenda:

According to the World Council of Churches (WCC) web site . . .

For over 50 years, the World Council of Churches (WCC), through the Commission of the Churches on International Affairs (CCIA), has maintained a constant and active presence at the United Nations. “In the early years there were offices in New York (UN Headquarters), London, Geneva (UNHCR and ILO), Paris (UNESCO), and close liaison with Rome (FAO). Today only the Geneva and New York UN Headquarters Liaison Offices remain, though consultative relations have further been established with virtually the whole family of UN-related agencies (UNEP, UNDP, UNCTAD, WHO, etc.) . . .

What impact does the WCC have on the National Council of Churches? Short answer:

“It would seem that the only difference between the American churches attending the WCC and the NCC itself is the letterhead. . .”

The National Council of Churches USA is composed of 35 Protestant, Anglican, Orthodox, historic African American and peace communions representing 45 million Christians in 100,000 local congregations in the United States.

Given, however, the fact that the US/American churches attending the WCC are virtually identical to the churches that are members of the NCC the position adopted by them this past week obviously reflects the position of member churches in the NCC although not serving as an official position of the latter. An example of this can be found here, where the President of the NCC has initiated a letter (now signed by over 13,000 people) in support of the UNs call for the US to close the prison facility at Guantanamo. It would seem that the only difference between the American churches attending the WCC and the NCC itself is the letterhead. . .

Further Note: According to the WCC website there are 33 member churches from North America (including Canada). The NCC website shows 35 member churches, 21 of which are WCC members.

Today, as it did in the past, the NCC has existed as a political, religious, philanthropic, or humanitarian organization that unfortunately has succumbed to the infiltration of the fringe left. Actually, it never really shifted to the left - it was designed in mind as a front group from the very beginning! What better way to bring revolution to the world than by using religion with it's message of equality and the meek inheriting the earth! . . .

Discrediting the Family as an Institution: THE BIG PICTURE

Why our public schools are circumventing parental authority – encouraging students to lie to their parents – and are attempting to destroy the very fabric of family and society. . .

It’s amazing to me – absolutely amazing - that, according to Google, less than 400 blogs have even covered the story of Deerfield High School, and it’s been almost a full day since the last news coverage of this issue.

Summary: Deerfield High School freshman students are required to attend a Gay-Straight Alliance Network panel discussion led by "gay" and "lesbian" upper classmen promoting the homosexual agenda. No alternative viewpoint is presented. Students are also required to sign a “Confidentiality Agreement” that they will not reveal the content of this course to their parents.

While it is important that conservative bloggers are highly focused on several vital issues such as the War in Iraq, the War on Terrorism, Illegal Aliens, the 2008 elections, etc., it appears that we are missing THE BIG PICTURE.

Let’s remember that we want to win the war in Iraq to stabilize the Mid East, to strengthen the new democracy in Iraq, and, most importantly, to protect America from terrorism on our soil.

We want to win the war on Terrorism to protect freedom in America and in the world.

We want to control immigration to protect America from an invasion of illegal immigrants that have no loyalty to America, nor any wish to assimilate into American culture.

We are enmeshed in dissecting leftist liberal talking points as we angst about the dangerous prospects of the 2008 elections.

But what is THE BIG PICTURE that we are missing?

When our public schools force children to sign an illegal and unenforceable “Confidentiality Promise” that they will lie by withholding information from their parents, folks the war to save America is already lost!

Sadly the incident in Deerfield, Illinois is NOT an isolated incident. Any school district in the US that has a “Social Justice Unit” may already be involved in offering such unbalanced propaganda courses that require parental deception because they promote only one particular viewpoint. Parents must not abdicate their parental authority to the state! Parents must become involved in their children’s schools!

Please be aware that these are just some of the complaints lodged by Deerfield High School parents:

The teachers are not required to give full disclosure as to the content in their lesson plans.

They do not present alternative viewpoints even though they claim to welcome diverse views.

Parents have repeatedly asked for a panel to speak on the subject of homosexuality from a moral and medical view but have been denied.

Parents have asked to see the materials and the school refuses to give access to parents. Illinois state code says any member of public is allowed to view all curriculums.

Those children who disagreed or who refused to sign were taken into hall and intimidated into signing. They were made to stand up in class if they objected to the material. One child spoke out against these curricula and was called anti-Semitic because there was Jewish student on the gay student panel.

Requests by parents to observe the class have been refused.

Note: It is a violation of Illinois state law and school policy for teachers to promote sexual behavior.

But why is this happening in our public schools?

Students of history remember that this tactic was successfully used in Communist controlled nations to indoctrinate children into Communism. Children were encouraged to spy on their parents and to lie to their parents.

Yesterday Glen Beck reminded his radio listeners about the “Current Communist Goals” to take over the U.S. as entered into the Congressional Record January 10th 1963. (See Congressional Record--Appendix, Vol. 109, 88th Congress, 1st Session Appendix Pages A1-A2842 [pp. A34-A35], Jan. 9-May 7, 1963)

There were 45 Communist Goals to take over the U.S. Anyone who reads these chilling goals will recognize that almost all of the goals have already been accomplished.

I want to draw your specific attention to the following Communist Goals:

17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers' associations. Put the party line in textbooks.

25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV.

26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal, natural, healthy."

27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity which does not need a "religious crutch."

40. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce.

41. Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents. Attribute prejudices, mental blocks and retarding of children to suppressive influence of parents.

42. Create the impression that violence and insurrection are legitimate aspects of the American tradition; that students and special-interest groups should rise up and use ["]united force["] to solve economic, political or social problems.
