HERE IS AN IDEA--- Freedom loving peoples should be selective where they chose to vacation. For instance, don't support the peoples republic of California with your vacation dollars, support free enterprise destinations over repressive communities.
In fact, make a big deal of it, let the liberal centers know that you won't be visiting them any longer.

California is full of places to avoid. Here is an example, I love mountains and mountain life, I bought a place in South Lake Tahoe 22 years ago. Vacationed there mainly, then moved there in 2007 when I left Morgan Stanley (on my 50th birthday, read between those lines).
From my personal experience and observations with the community of South Lake Tahoe I've come to see it as the poster child for all that is wrong with America. An oppressive government that has devastated the small business community and racked up massive debts from failed government controlled development projects.
It is not surprising after all the "Jewel of the Sierras" has long been a battleground between liberal extremists and conservatives. The Sierra lake community has been hijacked by the leftwing extremists and turned South Lake Tahoe into the decimated community it is. (Details on the Trailer above)
If you support freedom than you should avoid South Lake Tahoe and communities like it, and let them know why. You can reach the people directly in communities like South Lake Tahoe through their online media. Make a comment in their "locals" newspaper. Let the liberals know that you would not do business with them because you love freedom and they repress it. Perhaps the conservatives among them will then be able to rise to the cause. There are not many conservatives left in the area but there are some, they have been bullied into submission but may rise with encouragement.
Just a few comments in the locals press would cause a tizzy.
Doing something, does something. Let the community know that their acceptance of government oppression has cost them your business.

THE IMPACT OF TOT ON CENTRALIZATION AND THE CRONY CREEP
One of the culprits in the centralization of control and subsequent decline in many destination communities is the success of the Transient occupancy Tax (TOT) a.k.a. Hotel Room Tax. This system can lead to a destructive Crony community such as what happened in South Lake Tahoe. Government insiders working with select outside developers and "Consultants" corrupt the separation between public and private sectors and degradate the community. Insiders "controlling" the tax flow from TOT and using it to control the community through marketing and promotions that favor the crony goals. The difference between conservatives and progressives, er liberals, er, socialists… (Whatever!)… is now more obvious than ever before -- especially now that Americans have seen the Progressives in action.
Are you as sick of the Democrats claiming the Republicans are looking out for their rich friends… at the cost of the poor folk in this country? Every time one turns around it is on the TV, in the Newspapers, and on the radio. Of course, the Democrat party controls the mainstream media outlets. (That’s why FOX News Channel is such a threat to them, and, why it is burning the ratings up. People have become sick and tired of hearing the old leftist spin on the news and are rushing to Fox News, in droves, to hear the “real” news and, as they say, get it “fair and balanced.”
Here’s the thing. It really is propaganda… plain and simple. It is political pabulum fed to the media, by the DNC, and the MSM laps it up and regurgitates it onto their respective networks or print media. They have been the willing accomplices of the Democrat Party since, well, since the beginning. Nothing has changed.
One of my own regional newspapers, owned by the New York Times, is no different. Readers get the same old rotgut, left wing, propaganda. However, they have been doing this so long they have begun to believe their own propaganda. They actually believe they are unbiased! Talk about denial! Just a brief scan of their editorial page and a fair-minded person will understand immediately their approach to reporting. It carries over onto the pages of the news. The sources are well known left leaning news associations.
So, with the Democrats controlling the Mainstream Media, why is there a hue and cry when a conservative voice pops up on TV, the radio, or the print media-- because, we conservatives are a very real threat to the left. Our ideas actually work. They are not difficult for folks to understand. We don’t have all the “nuance” intertwined in our remarks. We speak plainly and to the point. Oftimes, we are not politically correct, but then most folks aren’t.
Conservatives are a mixed lot, the same as Liberals/Progressives/Socialists. But for the most part, we are a people who base our political belief in the rock solid fundamentals that built this country. We believe the founders were honorable men. Flawed, but honorable. We believe they meant what they said when they wrote the constitution -- and they said what they meant. We see no reason to change it one-way or the other. Unlike Progressives, conservatives do not believe the Constitution is “a living document” subject to radical interpretation by whim. What you see is what you get.
Most conservatives are morally grounded in the scriptures and we believe that is the root of all things good. But, even more important than all these, we believe there are absolutes, moral and otherwise. There are boundaries. We, for the most part, do not believe in moral relativity. It is either right, or it is wrong.
You can see why we lock horns with the liberals/progressives/socialists, especially the new socialists that now form the bulk of what used to be the Democratic Party. Sadly, that is exactly what has happened to the old Democratic Party. It has become a socialist/secular/humanist (and, we suspect, a sprinkling of communists.) party. The truly sad thing is… they have yet to realize the American people will have none of it. They have isolated themselves from the electorate and they are now, seemingly, bent on self-destruction.
In by-gone days, the Democrat party was a party in which Zell Miller could feel at home. It was a political party the Southern folk could align with, especially since the Lincoln administration was a Republican administration. Things have changed. The pendulum has swung and now the Republican Party is the party the Democrat Party used to be. Thus, the switching of parties by Southerners and the reason the South now leans most favorably toward the Republican.
Presidential elections cannot be won without the South (i.e. the states of the old Confederacy). It will be a cold day, in warmer climes, when the South switches back to the Democrat Party.
Many conservatives don’t feel the Republican Party is conservative enough. They feel the Republican Party has forsaken its conservative agenda and it’s conservative members. I fall in that group. As a result the Tea Party Movement was born. The Tea Party Movement may yet become a full-grown third political party in America, a conservative political party. However, caution must be exercised that Tea Party candidates for office do not harm the campaigns of GOP candidates who have clear shots at removing an incumbent democrat, or a liberal, or RINO Republican from office.
Just some thoughts today on why politics are as they are in the USA. Subject to change, of course!

Remember that “Shadow Government” in Washington we warned about months ago? Well, ten months have now elapsed in the Obama Regime’s subjugation of America and yours truly is even more convinced now, than ever, that such a Shadow Government does, in fact, exist and is all but running the United States.
I have had the nagging feeling that this recession has been manufactured and guided, or shepherded, right from the outset. I have also come to believe that the Cloward and Piven Strategy has been employed as the vehicle to intentionally crash the US economy in order to demoralize the American people in such a way, and so deeply, that the citizens will accept the declaration which has yet to come -- but is expected, by this scribe, at some point shortly after the first of the year, stating that our current economic system, capitalism, has failed and our democratic capitalist republic form of government has, likewise, failed and it is now time for the American people to create a new political system in America. That proposed political system will be socialism/communism and the American economy will then be based on the tenants of Marxism and it will lean heavily on a redistribution of the nation’s wealth.
Now, if we are right, all this planning was made long before Obama arrived on the scene -- and since day one in the White House the Shadow Government, with Obama as their mouth piece reading the scripts that have been prepared for him, has been setting the agenda for the implementation of a Socialist/Marxist government to take the place of our democratic republic as soon next year as they are able to convince the American people that without the change over to socialism/communism America, and capitalism, is doomed.
All last summer, before the election, we warned this could happen and probably would. Now all indications are that it is ready for implementation.
I am convinced that Obama’s Shadow Government is a group of socialists and Marxists bent on bringing America to her knees and making her crawl to them begging for a new, workable form of government, They are ready! They have the long drawn-up plans in their briefcases ready to be put into action.
We have been set-up. You and I, all Americans have been given the “Mushroom Treatment. Like Mushrooms, we have been kept in the dark and fed a steady diet of horse manure.
I can’t speak for you, but like Howard Beal, of the famous movie “Network,” I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore.” And neither should you!
So what is the Cloward Piven Strategy? Simply put it is the strategy of forcing political change through orchestrated crisis. The "Cloward-Piven Strategy" seeks to hasten the fall of capitalism by overloading the government bureaucracy with a flood of impossible demands, thus pushing society into crisis and economic collapse.
In an article at The American Thinker, James Simpson says the following: “Barack Obama, the Cloward-Piven candidate, no matter how he describes himself, has been a radical activist for most of his political career. That activism has been in support of organizations and initiatives that at their heart seek to tear the pillars of this nation asunder in order to replace them with their demented socialist vision.” Read the entire article HERE.
The Shadow Government, comprised of all those leftist radicals with whom Obama has been associated most of his adult life, in my opinion, orchestrated the current economic crisis. They did it for one reason. That one reason was, again – in my opinion -- to cause the collapse of the democratic capitalist republic of the United States and replace it with the new Socialist States of America!
It is nearly overwhelming just to think that one’s fellow Americans would do such a thing!
With Obama in the White House, during this critical time in our history, we truly have the fox guarding the henhouse! Obama can brush aside all the inquiries concerning his association with leftist radicals if he wishes, but when one steps back, and gets a look at the big picture of Obama’s life, one begins to understand that the major influences on his life came from a long list of the crème de la crème of leftist radicals in America with whom he associated. When you make that critical observation you cannot help but be convinced that Obama, himself, is a willing participant in the campaign to bring about the collapse of America’s democratic, capitalist, republic and replace it with a socialist/marxist regime. As Obama has spent nearly his entire adult life totally immersed in the socialist, leftists, ideology, what else could one expect.
Look around you. Look at America today. Look at the financial mess our economic system is in today. Then consider the truckloads of money siphoned from the US treasury and spent on so-called bailouts that have done no good, and will do no good, and then consider the Cloward Piven Strategy again: “The strategy of forcing political change through orchestrated crisis. The “Cloward-Piven Strategy” seeks to hasten the fall of capitalism by overloading the government bureaucracy with a flood of impossible demands, thus pushing society into crisis and economic collapse.” Could it be any clearer? The very politicians who swear they are trying to get us out of this mess are the very same politicians who got us into the mess in the first place!
I am now convinced that Obama and his henchmen intend to continue tossing one crisis after another at our financial and governmental systems until they cause a collapse of both systems. Then they intend to replace our democratic republic with a socialist/marxist regime.
It has been reported they intend to first use the power of persuasion – and -- if that doesn’t work they intend to use “the persuasion of power.” Did you get that? You had better understand what that means.
They have just begun their massive transfer of power FROM the people of the United States TO the Shadow Government. After Christmas, after the first of the year, expect the financial crisis to worsen. That will be your tip-off that the socialist troops are on the move. It will be time to man the barricades. Forewarned is forearmed.
Yes. I know how this must sound to my readers. Paranoia. OK. Let me say this: If everybody IS out to get you – then paranoia is just damn good thinking!
Look. I love this country and I do not want to see her hijacked by a socialist movement that will rot the soul of the people of America. We need to begin a SAVE AMERICA MOVEMENT right now. This once great country can be great again, but first she needs rescuing. We cannot rescue her by standing on the sidelines. We will soon learn whether we are the Home of the Brave – or not!

Where are the “Grown-ups” in the Obama Regime? I look around and I see emotionally immature people traipsing about in the West Wing of the White House with the blessing of the uno numero socialist in America, President Obama. Then I look up the Hill to the Congress and I see Harry Reid over in the Senate, and I see Nancy Pelosi over in the House of Representatives -- and I shudder. I fear I am looking at “Dumb” and “Dumber.” It is frightening to realize that our country is in the hands of those three people: Obama, Reid, and Pelosi. You know what is even scarier? Pelosi is third in line for the Presidency should something, God forbid, happen to the President and the Vice-President.
There is a great deal of angst in the US these days. One can almost feel the tension in the air. Each day we awaken to another day of wondering what exactly the Obama regime is going to do today to strip more of our precious freedom away.
Already we have a Cap and Trade bill hanging over our heads. That bill alone is going to cost every American family mucho deniro in the years ahead as the government attempts to fight an enemy that doesn’t even exist. I am referring to global warming, or as the “environuts” are wont to say -- “Climate Change.” The “Bailouts” have strapped a generation, or so, of
Americans, even those yet unborn, with thousands of dollars of debt they must pay off in their lifetimes on this earth. I have read that the Obama Regime has saddled America with more debt in his ten months, or so, in office than all the previous US Presidents combined! Unemployment in America is now over nine percent and climbing. With fewer jobs there is less disposable income, less money in the marketplace, and that has affected Wall Street and stocks are all over the map. Investors are as nervous as a lady of ill repute in church!
Now, comes socialized medicine. The added cost to Americans is expected to be well over a trillion dollars in the first decade, and, frankly, we have serous doubts it will turn out to be that cheap. And regardless of what our esteemed senators and congresspersons are telling us it WILL affect the nations deficit and wreak even more havoc with what is left of our economy.
If there is any silver-lining, at all, to the dark clouds gathered over America these days, it is the very real possibility that in one year, if we can hang on, there is likely to be a political massacre of democrat politicians at the ballot box.
Even the liberal voters who flocked to the polls in 2008 to elect Obama are now having serious doubts about him and his policies.
I have noticed some of the more liberal journalists are bemoaning Obama’s failure to stand by his campaign promises, those promises especially favored by ultra-liberals, and, in fact, has continued a number of Bush’s policies and programs with what appears to be total disregard for the leftist dreams he has shattered along the way over the past ten months, or so.
Now, we are told, some in the White House are experiencing some trembling in the knees as Tuesday’s elections approach and their candidates are not making the “showing” they were expected to make against the more conservative candidates. In fact, The Obama Regime is admitting that at least a couple of races, they deem especially important to them, are likely to go to the opposition as their candidates go down in flames. One must ask: is this a precursor to coming attractions in 2012? Could be. But, 2012 is still a long way off and things change at a remarkable velocity in politics, especially national politics.
Dumb, dumber, and dumbest. Taking on Fox News was, probably the dumbest move yet. But, hey, that is what happens when people with power get cocky. They open themselves up to return fire.
I was in the US Army Artillery during my service in the military. One of the important lessons we learned -- and it is a lesson readily applied to one’s life -- is to always remember when the enemy is in range of your guns – YOU are in range of THEIRS! Somebody apparently forgot to tell the folks in the Obama Regime.
Americans have, at a minimum, three more years of wondering what we are going to be hit with next. Are we worried? You are “durn tootin” we’re worried -- and with good reason. We still do not see a viable presidential candidate being groomed by the Republicans to run against Obama in 2012. Oh, yes! It is truly worrisome.

There is a great deal of angst in the US these days. One can almost feel the tension in the air. Each day we awaken to another day of wondering what exactly the Obama regime is going to do today to strip more of our precious freedom away.
Already we have a Cap and Trade bill hanging over our heads. That bill alone is going to cost every American family mucho deniro in the years ahead as the government attempts to fight an enemy that doesn’t even exist. I am referring to global warming, or as the “environuts” are wont to say -- “Climate Change.” The “Bailouts” have strapped a generation, or so, of
Americans, even those yet unborn, with thousands of dollars of debt they must pay off in their lifetimes on this earth. I have read that the Obama Regime has saddled America with more debt in his ten months, or so, in office than all the previous US Presidents combined! Unemployment in America is now over nine percent and climbing. With fewer jobs there is less disposable income, less money in the marketplace, and that has affected Wall Street and stocks are all over the map. Investors are as nervous as a lady of ill repute in church!
Now, comes socialized medicine. The added cost to Americans is expected to be well over a trillion dollars in the first decade, and, frankly, we have serous doubts it will turn out to be that cheap. And regardless of what our esteemed senators and congresspersons are telling us it WILL affect the nations deficit and wreak even more havoc with what is left of our economy.
If there is any silver-lining, at all, to the dark clouds gathered over America these days, it is the very real possibility that in one year, if we can hang on, there is likely to be a political massacre of democrat politicians at the ballot box.
Even the liberal voters who flocked to the polls in 2008 to elect Obama are now having serious doubts about him and his policies.
I have noticed some of the more liberal journalists are bemoaning Obama’s failure to stand by his campaign promises, those promises especially favored by ultra-liberals, and, in fact, has continued a number of Bush’s policies and programs with what appears to be total disregard for the leftist dreams he has shattered along the way over the past ten months, or so.
Now, we are told, some in the White House are experiencing some trembling in the knees as Tuesday’s elections approach and their candidates are not making the “showing” they were expected to make against the more conservative candidates. In fact, The Obama Regime is admitting that at least a couple of races, they deem especially important to them, are likely to go to the opposition as their candidates go down in flames. One must ask: is this a precursor to coming attractions in 2012? Could be. But, 2012 is still a long way off and things change at a remarkable velocity in politics, especially national politics.
Dumb, dumber, and dumbest. Taking on Fox News was, probably the dumbest move yet. But, hey, that is what happens when people with power get cocky. They open themselves up to return fire.
I was in the US Army Artillery during my service in the military. One of the important lessons we learned -- and it is a lesson readily applied to one’s life -- is to always remember when the enemy is in range of your guns – YOU are in range of THEIRS! Somebody apparently forgot to tell the folks in the Obama Regime.
Americans have, at a minimum, three more years of wondering what we are going to be hit with next. Are we worried? You are “durn tootin” we’re worried -- and with good reason. We still do not see a viable presidential candidate being groomed by the Republicans to run against Obama in 2012. Oh, yes! It is truly worrisome.

The United Nations has become so corrupt and, so anti-American, the United States can no longer remain a member. Any chance to save the UN, as a viable mediator of disputes in the world, has completely disappeared. Their graft, and corruption, has taken away the last leg they were leaning on. It is now a hollow shell of what it was supposed to be, indeed, what it was created to be. It never quite reached the grand plateau of respectability envisioned for it by its creators.
The United Nations is a flop. Worse… it is a caricature of the organization it should be and… could have been. The United nations seems occupied, these days, with one thing, and one thing only, and that is -- the advent of global governance -- a "One World Government." Guess which organization will be the government of that "One World?" You've got it! the UN. The US MUST get out. To preserve itself, and its constitution, Americans have no choice but to demand the United States government pull out of the United Nations. If, in fact, we find a world forum is needed to fill the void left by the decomposing UN, then we should found a new one… one that reflects the hallmark of truly democratic countries.
Enter the United Democratic Nations. (The UDN.)
Let the world see the US, Great Britain, Australia, Canada, Israel, New Zealand, just to name a few of the democratic nations inside the US orbit, conceive and give birth to a world body of nations to carry out the mandate once given to the United Nations and spurned so horribly by them.
It is only a matter of time until an organization, such as the UDN, is established.
Oh, it was not a mistake, by this author, to be so obvious in overlooking France and Germany, and Russia and the other European Socialist Democracies. They have decided to go their own way, refusing to believe there is anyone else on the globe worthy of their respect. France and Germany have the shortest memories in the history of the planet. Or, is it a huge inferiority complex? Whatever their problem, they no longer deserve to be shielded by the truly western democracies and we should make it plain that membership in the UDN will not be extended to them. They are own their own… to fend for themselves.
If history is any is any indication of their destiny, they will soon be at each other’s throats again. For history has taught us that as soon as the US leaves "The Continent" they begin to squabble with each other, pick fights that turn into wars that set the globe ablaze in WORLD WARS. Their vanity and arrogance is exceeded only by their utter lack of common sense.
Yes, we will have a bi-polar world again. East and West. There will soon be a diplomatic slugfest to determine the leader of the Eastern Block and that will soon be Russia, not France, as France supposes. The French entitlement to leadership is in THEIR minds ONLY.
So, bring on the UDN, if we must, and the sooner the better. Let us commit the United Nations to the ash heap of history where it belongs. That dream turned into a nightmare. It is time to wake up, from it, and get on with handling the problems of the real world.

We knew it was just a matter of time. So, apparently the Obama administration has decided it IS time.
How many times have we warned that ObamaCare would punish American gun owners? We were shouted down each time.
Now, we can see the attempt by the Obama regime to tie guns into some sort of health issue in order to make gun ownership fall under the auspices of Obamacare where gun control will be a huge issue.
Simply put, under Obamacare there is a strong likelihood that if you own a gun you will not get healthcare insurance. Read the article at the link above for a better understanding of how the Obama regime is going about this.
Why else would the national HEALTH agency (NIH) be studying gun control issues or any issue having to do with guns? To fix solidly in the collective mind of the public that guns (and gun control) is really, is actually, a HEALTH issue. Tell a lie long enough and people begin to believe it.
Thirteen years ago Congress cut off funds to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), which was used for studies pertaining to gun control. So far that has not slowed the NIH.
Now we have ObamaCare grinding it’s way through Congress and we can’t help but notice the strong possibility that with the extension of government control into the everyday lives of American citizens, which ObamaCare will certainly do, it provides the perfect vehicle for gun control. By establishing gun violence as a health issue if will fall within the purview of the universal health care laws. Once that is done, it is a very simple step, indeed, to declare that an Obama Policy holder who owns guns, even for self-protection in the home, does not qualify for national healthcare. Turn in your guns and get your healthcare, or keep your guns and don’t get healthcare. Wait a minute, it will be against the .law not to have healthcare, so you gotta turn in your guns or be fined, and not have healthcare, or heavens forbid, go to jail and not have healthcare… or simply turn in your guns and have healthcare and all is well. See? Is it clear now? OK. So maybe not. But I think you begin to understand why it has gun owners across the nation, and a few in Congress worried.

Its own studies could not link gun control laws to the reduction of crime. Nevertheless, any time the government studies “gun safety,” you know that in spite of the fact that all the research in the world will not support its end goal of the necessity of disarmament, the aim is to produce enough information, studies, and opinions to influence the public against gun ownership and persuade them to internalize the emotional aspect of the issue, thereby leading them to despise guns, distrust gun owners, and desire more government intervention to make gun ownership more difficult.
The anti-gun movement is built on pure emotion – hating guns and being afraid of guns – so building perception among the masses through fear mongering and emotional coercion is much more essential, and uncomplicated, than actually proving a hard case through a mishmash of statistics.” We recommend this article to you. The point is – the leftist gungrabbers of America have not been resting; they have been very busy making ready for the possibility of a leftist President and a leftist Congress, which they now have. They also have the perfect vehicle to carry their plans for the disarmament of American citizens into federal law – ObamaCare.
ObamaCare is not about healthcare. It is about POWER. It will be the largest transfer of power from the people of the United States to the government of the United States in the history of the country and could, very well, cause the collapse of the United States.
A huge percentage of the American citizenry will resist any disarmament. They will not give up their guns. If forced to choose between the US Constitution and the US Government, they will choose the Constitution every time. A great conflagration will ensue. Only a fool swaddled in a fool’s vanity can claim ignorance of a future America ripped in twain by the lust for power of elitist, leftist, utopians in search of a society that has never existed, does not exist now, and never will exist.

So, you’re a hunter, a sportsman, or just a good citizen who has a firearm in your home for the protection of your family and, YES, even for the protection of your property, which you have worked so hard, all your life, to acquire.
The US Constitution says you have that right – RIGHT? Well, NOT SO FAST! It appears that “what we have here -- is a failure to communicate.” See, the Gungrabbers in the Obama Regime, don’t view the constitution the same AS YOU AND I. Nosiree! To them “The Constitution,” at it’s best, is only a suggestion. To you and me, it is THE LAW!
OK, before you go grabbing for your blood pressure pills and assuring “Elizabeth” that “This is the BIG ONE, honey….” lets dig a tad deeper, shall we?
Those of us who have watched ObamaCare develop, over the months and years, (Yeah, I DID say “YEARS”. Why, you didn’t REALLY believe that “thing” was written in the few days and weeks from Obama’s swearing in ceremony until it popped up in the hoppers in the US House and Senate – DID YOU? Surely not! Oh, no… work on ObamaCare began rather a long time ago. But that is a commentary for another time. Not today.)
As I was about to say, before I interrupted myself -- those of us who have watched ObamaCare develop, over the months and years, have not only noticed but we have cried out in dismay at the depths to which the government will be able to dip it’s hands into your business, into your/our daily lives and dictate to you and me just how we will be required to live our lives… if we want to have ObamaCare, that is. Of course, we can pay that hefty fine, (and possibly do a stretch in federal prison) until we change our minds and sign-up like the “good little socialists” we are expected to be. Oh, that part about “doing a stretch in federal prison” is not in the “would-be ObamaCare law” as far as I am able to determine. At least it is not in the bill – YET! But, you allow that lot in Congress to have an inch and they will snatch a mile! Who knows what might be in the bill the next time we look? Jeez, it gives me cold chills!
The good folks over at Gun Owners of America are deeply concerned about the proposed bill and would have you know a few things. They, along with a few million other gun owning Americans, are concerned over the possibility that ObamaCare could be used to ban guns for self defense in the home. As we continue to warn you – do not think it cannot happen because right here, in my state, it is happening among those who are employed by the state and happen to be obese or happen to be smokers. If they fall into either of those categories, or both, they will be hit with higher premiums than the other policyholders. Different you say? Not very, I reply. The principle is exactly the same. The state will be using their power to dictate to us how we live our lives.
In an article entitled: “ObamaCare Could Be Used to Ban Guns in Home Self Defense” they say the following: “in addition to an extensive list of statutorily mandated coverage, HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius would be empowered to “define and update the categories of treatments, items, and services...” within an insurance plan which would be covered in a policy constituting “required minimum health coverage.”
Gun Owners of America goes on to say: “It is nearly certain that coverage prescribed by the administration will, to control costs, exclude coverage for what it regards as excessively dangerous activities. And, given Sebelius’ well-established antipathy to the Second Amendment -- she vetoed concealed carry legislation as governor of Kansas -- we presume she will define these dangerous activities to include hunting and self-defense using a firearm. It is even possible that the Obama-prescribed policy could preclude reimbursement of any kind in a household which keeps a loaded firearm for self-defense.”
The GOA reminds us not to be surprised if ObamaCare creates a “back door gun ban” on any America who owns “dangerous firearms.”
In the article GOA says: “The ObamaCare bill already contains language that will punish Americans who engage in unhealthy behavior by allowing insurers to charge them higher insurance premiums. (What constitutes an unhealthy lifestyle is, of course, to be defined by legislators.)”
The GOA goes on to say: “All of this is in addition to something that GOA has been warning you about for several months … the certainty that minimum acceptable policies will dump your gun information into a federal database … a certainty that is reinforced by language in the summary providing for a study to “encourage increased meaningful use of electronic health records.”
Far fetched you say? Well consider this: “… the federal government has already denied more than 150,000 military veterans the right to own guns, without their being convicted of a crime or receiving any due process of law. They were denied because of medical information (such as PTSD) that the FBI later determined disqualified these veterans to own guns.”
And, the GOA reminds us: “failure to comply would subject the average family to $1,500 in fines -- and possibly more for a household with older teens. And, although a Schumer amendment purports to exempt Americans from prison sentences for non-purchase of an ObamaPolicy -- something which was never at issue -- it doesn’t prohibit them from being sent to prison for a year and fined an additional $25,000 under the Internal Revenue Code for non-payment of the initial fines.

ObamaCare must be stopped and we must do it in an aboveboard, legal, and honorable way. Stooping to the level of those who would strip our freedoms, as Americans, away from us is totally unacceptable.
Just because there appears to be a lull in the action on ObamaCare in Washington, is no reason for us to back off one iota.

The war in Afghanistan is making me nervous. Everyday, as I read the wire reports, and listen, and watch the broadcast news and glean the news from the Internet, and I am detecting many of the same mistakes the US made in Vietnam being made in Afghanistan. Micromanaging the war from Washington has already cost the lives of more US servicemen than is necessary.
The political Left in America has been wishing for a war for sometime now so they can prove their prowess. The little war in what used to be called Yugoslavia was unsatisfying for their public relations people. Dropping bombs on an enemy from so high up the jet engines of your aircraft are laboring for lack of oxygen and your aircraft can’t even be seen, is, somehow, not heroic enough for the 6 o’clock news. No, they need a war that can be splashed across the HDTV screens of Americans in all its bloody gore. They THINK AFGHANISTAN is IT! Once again, they have, as they say, figured wrong!
Liberals/Progressives/socialists/democrats love the very thought of Nation Building. As a conservative I don’t.
The US SUCKS at nation building. I am inclined to believe that democracy is not for everyone. Democracy is a thinking, reasoning person’s form of government.
A republican form of democratic government is even more difficult to set up and sustain. I believe there simply are some countries on this globe not capable, at this point in their history, of setting up and sustaining, a democratic, republican, form of government - such as the one we have in the US. I also believe that forcing them to create such a government is a terrible mistake on our part and will, almost assuredly, backfire on us - and, if we are not very careful we will be at war once again in those countries we have just left, or, are leaving.
As an example, I am convinced that soon after the US and it’s allies leaves Iraq it will revert back to a strongman form of dictator government. If that does, in fact happen, what will the US and it’s coalition partners have won? Not much, it seems to me.
Now, I know it is not the popular thing to say these days, but we won the war in Iraq. We invaded, completely destroyed the military of Iraq, overthrew the government of Iraq, and captured the Iraqi “Dictator-in-Hiding.”
I’m not a Neo-Con. If anything, I’m an old moss-backed Paleo-Con. I do not believe in Nation Building… at all. I’m from the old school in which you invade a country, and destroy it’s military, it’s government, it’s infrastructure and then … you leave. A very important part of the punishment of that enemy country is to leave it a smoking pile of rubble!
This is an important part of any victory. The ability to point to a former enemy’s pile of rubble and say: “hey, you mess with us and you, too, will wind up like that!” It has something to do with the “fear factor.” Scare the living daylights out of any potential enemies.
Granted, it’s not pretty, but it is effective. You see, I’m not into trying to win friends and influence people. Never have been. I’m into winning.
See, I told you it was not pretty.
This Nation Building is costing us treasure and blood. I’m sort of averse to contributing either one!
The US has to make attacking us too costly for any country to even contemplate. To demonstrate that cost, we need to completely obliterate a country, or two, sort of as examples, don’t you see?
But, so long as we go into countries and knock them down, and them help them back up, and rebuild their country, we minimize the cost to them. For example, Iraq will be in better shape when US forces finally DO leave than it has been since, well, I don’t know when.
I think Genghis Khan had it about right. Hit fast, hit hard, destroy everything in sight… and leave!
Did anyone ever ask “ole Genghis” what HIS exit strategy was? Huh? Guess not. You see, everybody knew, already!
No, our politicians are hell-bent on preventing our military from performing the jobs they were trained to do - kill and destroy. Instead, they seem to want our troops to all sit in a circle, hold hands, and sing “cum baya.” It is a scenario straight out of the sixties and it is doomed to eventual defeat.
It’s utter nonsense. It should be as simple as one, two, three:
One: Deploy to the enemy country
Two: Cream the enemy (and his country)
Three: Re-deploy home.
Yes, I KNOW this is simplistic, and NOTHING ever goes this easily. But – you get the idea.
In the meantime, keep the troops razor sharp, and leaning forward, so the next time a troublemaker sticks his head up, he knows what’s coming. You cannot keep the troops militarily sharp when they are building a city’s infrastructure and not training for combat.
Our troops have won the war. Now the politicians, in Washington, are so uncomfortable with victory, they feel this overpowering urge to “kiss and make-up” by rebuilding that which we have just destroyed. Makes no sense to me.

The war in Afghanistan is making me nervous. Everyday, as I read the wire reports, and listen, and watch the broadcast news and glean the news from the Internet, and I am detecting many of the same mistakes the US made in Vietnam being made in Afghanistan. Micromanaging the war from Washington has already cost the lives of more US servicemen than is necessary.
The political Left in America has been wishing for a war for sometime now so they can prove their prowess. The little war in what used to be called Yugoslavia was unsatisfying for their public relations people. Dropping bombs on an enemy from so high up the jet engines of your aircraft are laboring for lack of oxygen and your aircraft can’t even be seen, is, somehow, not heroic enough for the 6 o’clock news. No, they need a war that can be splashed across the HDTV screens of Americans in all its bloody gore. They THINK AFGHANISTAN is IT! Once again, they have, as they say, figured wrong!
Liberals/Progressives/socialists/democrats love the very thought of Nation Building. As a conservative I don’t.
The US SUCKS at nation building. I am inclined to believe that democracy is not for everyone. Democracy is a thinking, reasoning person’s form of government.
A republican form of democratic government is even more difficult to set up and sustain. I believe there simply are some countries on this globe not capable, at this point in their history, of setting up and sustaining, a democratic, republican, form of government - such as the one we have in the US. I also believe that forcing them to create such a government is a terrible mistake on our part and will, almost assuredly, backfire on us - and, if we are not very careful we will be at war once again in those countries we have just left, or, are leaving.
As an example, I am convinced that soon after the US and it’s allies leaves Iraq it will revert back to a strongman form of dictator government. If that does, in fact happen, what will the US and it’s coalition partners have won? Not much, it seems to me.
Now, I know it is not the popular thing to say these days, but we won the war in Iraq. We invaded, completely destroyed the military of Iraq, overthrew the government of Iraq, and captured the Iraqi “Dictator-in-Hiding.”

Up to now, I have maintained my silence about the late Senator Ted Kennedy. I have been torn between my “sainted” mother’s advice that if you cannot say something nice about someone, say nothing at all.
I also remember a quote from Abraham Lincoln who reportedly said, “The wise man speaks because he has something to say. The fool speaks because he has to say something.”
So, you see my quandary.
But, as I listened to the praises being sung about some senator I have never heard of - and do not know, it has become impossible to maintain my silence.
Count me among the fools, if you will, but down here, in the south land of America, the senator from Massachusetts was not well thought of - except by a handful of ultra-leftists and those transplanted northeasterners who have recently invaded our holy land, Dixie.
I was, and remain, a great fan of the late Senator Jesse Helms. Many years ago, when we were both broadcasters, I knew the senator and grew to admire him as someone who, when asked a question, told you the truth as he believed the truth to be, and never wavered. You might not like the answer he gave to your question, but it was an honest answer, nevertheless. I grew to admire Senator Helms long before he became the senator from my state of North Carolina.
The Kennedy family, on the other hand, was an altogether different animal, if you will. I began to investigate that family when Jack was a candidate for President. I did not like what I learned. After Chappaquiddick and the absolute mess Ted made of that incident, and the efforts his family made to save his behind, told me everything I ever needed to know about Ted, himself, and the family.
True, I hail from a long line of proud southern bootleggers, but I never ran for Congress, either.
To this scribe, Ted Kennedy never got past the drunken, slovenly, not very bright, court jester image that he seemed to polish continually. Frankly, I never trusted him to do, well, anything, very well, at all. Except one thing, that is. That one thing was to push his favorite socialist program, as best he could, through the Senate. That he seemed to do with great gusto.
Ted Kennedy had as much to do with Jesse Helms going back to the Senate for all those years as the voters in North Carolina had. Jesse was our answer to Ted. Jesse was the counter-weight, if you please.
So, forgive me if I do not join in the left’s deifying of Ted Kennedy. For unlike my friends on the left, I am unable to suspend my disbelief for the few days it will take for the left to bury the man.
As I predicted, it only took hours for the Democratic Party to take advantage of his death and attach his name to the ObamaCare bill before Congress. As we have come to know, such tasteless behavior is certainly not beneath the left when their power is being challenged by the conservative movement in this country.
ObamaCare began “for the children.” It will end “for Teddy.”
If one really wanted to remember someone at this funereal time, I would suggest we all take a few moments to remember a young lady named Mary Jo Kopechne and the date July 18th, 1969.

So Many Questions. So FEW Answers!
The Urban Dictionary defines “Bum’s Rush” as: “To be jostled or hustled to move you, or get rid of you, or get you to do something that someone wants you to do - that you don't necessarily want to do.”
Now that we have everyone up to date on that portion of the lexicon most nearly associated with what the Congress is doing to Americans these days, let us now speak of ObamaCare the socialized medicine legislation the democrat/socialists are ramming through Congress and down the throats of the American people.
First I want to urge you to write, e-mail, fax, phone, or even send a telegram to your congressperson and senators demanding that they fight ObamaCare and vote no on any portion of the legislation that may come before them. Believe me, the dems are going to throw this legislation at the congresspersons and senators as fast as they can, in the dead of night if they can. In other words - they intend to do whatever it takes to get this ObamaCare legislation passed through the Congress, if it is humanly possible, by the end of July.
We warned you this was coming. Well, it is here. ObamaCare and Cap and Trade - both are coming up at Americans fast and furious - along with the full Senate’s consideration of the President’s nominee for the Supreme Court, Sonia Sotomayor. ALL of this is coming at the American electorate like the Bum’s Rush we spoke of above. Rest assured… more is on the way.
For now, though, lets focus on this “Healthcare Overhaul,” as the President likes to call what you and I refer to as… ObamaCare.
Have you considered just how complicated a bill like the ObamaCare proposal would, of necessity, have to be? I mean, just think about it. Think of all the things a bill similar to ObamaCare would have to be. The intricacies of such an all-encompassing bill are staggering. It boggles the mind. Yet, the democrats want the Congress to vote on it, without ever having read it. Now, you and I both know that reading something, anything, and considering that same thing are two entirely different things. Why, reading one of your old healthcare insurance policies is so complicated you need an attorney by your side to interpret much, if not most, of it and the layman, unskilled in the law, is lost within a few paragraphs. And THAT, dear reader, is only a single Insurance policy for a single person, or, at most, a single family. There is just SO much to be considered!
I happen to be one of the millions of Americans cursed with a chronic disease, which rendered me “uninsurable.” Believe me, when I tell you, I know the value of having insurance. I also happen to be a former insurance salesman back in my misspent youth. So, my concern over the intricacies of ObamaCare is very real. For instance: I wonder if Obama Care cover diseases like Crohn’s Disease? Oh sure heart disease, diabetes, and such will be covered, but how about the little known, less “sexy” diseases such as the one I mentioned a sentence or two before this one. Will they be covered? And, who will make the decision(s) about what is covered and what is not?
If your Chronic Disease is not covered by ObamaCare… What Then? That is just ONE of the questions nobody has answered, at least to my knowledge, YET, about the President’s new Healthcare Overhaul proposal… and there are so many more! What size bureaucracy are we talking about here - huge, maybe? How about humongous!?
What about medical research and medical innovations? Up to now, the government has participated in medical research and development with taxpayer money as grants, etc, to development labs all over the country. But, one must ask, what happens when the government is insuring everyone and their primary concern has turned to holding the costs of that treatment down? All that R&D money will have dried up as it is sucked from the treasury by the costs of treatment.
Of course, the really BIG fight is just now beginning to elbow its way to the forefront. That’s the fight over whether, or not, ObamaCare will cover the costs of abortion. This fight is bound to get down and dirty, and do so quickly, once the bell rings and the bout begins. Of course, they could always decide NOT TO DECIDE, at least for now, and revisit the issue at a more favorable time in the future, for one side or the other.
By now, you should be getting a glimpse of just how incredibly intricate devising a socialized medicine scheme is for America - a country which has not, until now, actually considered socialism as a form of government for ourselves. It is here that we must bring ourselves to understand that we will be replacing our “republican”(The US is a Representative Republic.) form of government with a “socialist” form of government.
In the meantime, Americans are being herded toward acceptance of this HUGE piece of a Socialistic boondoggle at near record-breaking speed. But, thank goodness for small favors. The Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid announced Thursday (07-23-09) that there will be no vote on “ObamaCare”, in the US Senate, until AFTER the August recess.
The more Americans learn of ObamaCare the more they become convinced thy do not want it! That explains the “Bum’s Rush” we mentioned at the beginning of this commentary. The democrat/socialists (in charge of the US government these days) KNOW if they have a chance of winning this fight, they MUST get ObamaCare passed through the Congress and signed by the President BEFORE American citizens wake-up to what they (The Congress and the President) are about and what is in the bill and what is NOT in the bill – and - just what it means for our form of government.
I cannot stress this enough: It is extremely important that Americans become involved in this fight! If you who wish to maintain the democratic Representative Republic the US has enjoyed since it’s founding, and you want to guard against a socialist take-over of our government – then you MUST become involved.
The country asked very little of its citizens. Mostly, it asks that you obey the laws and defend it. We have arrived at one of those occasions when you, as an American citizen, are accorded the privilege, yes, I DID say privilege, of standing up to be counted among the hosts of those Americans who value their country which was placed in their care by a group of men and women, the likes of which the world has never seen the match.
We have reached a point in this struggle, which suggests the need for supernatural interference. I am suggesting, here, that prayer be employed as a weapon in this conflict. As I said above, it is impossible to stress enough how much power this bill will place in the hands of our government. This is power that could be used against all Americans, even those Americans yet unborn, on the whim of a Congress or a President at sometime in the future. Already you are beginning to realize the financial strain it will place on the country and on its citizens.
ObamaCare must go down to defeat. In my humble opinion, that defeat can be made a reality ONLY by Americans working together to, once again, defend this great land from a threat that is decidedly domestic.
In the words of that American hero, Todd Beamer: “Let’s roll!”

Man's Future Is In The STARS!
Man’s Future is in the Stars!A commentary by J. D. Longstreet

Today, July 20th, marks the fortieth anniversary of Americans planting the American flag on the surface of the moon and beginning what, for many of us, has become a huge disappointment.
July 20th, 1969. I stayed up all night, that night, and celebrated. I leapt up and down. I wept. I shouted with joy. I was one of the proudest Americans on the planet that day, 40 years ago. I KNEW we were headed for the planets (and the stars) where, I felt (and still do) God intended us to go.
I had followed the American space program from its days of infancy up to that seminal moment of singular importance. Yes, I was one of those “star-struck” people who pulled his truck off the road and turned the volume of the radio up, got out of the vehicle and stood on the shoulder of the highway, not far from Monroe, North Carolina, looking up, unconscious that I was searching the skies for a fireball when John Glenn’s heat shield failed upon re-entry and, for a few anxious moments, planet earth did not know if we had killed that brave Marine Astronaut. When, at last, we heard his voice we understood, perhaps for the first time, the true meaning of Mission Control’s farewell to Glenn: “God Speed, John Glenn!” as his rocket ship blasted a hole in the roof of the earth as he began his mission as a “pathfinder” for those who would follow in search of man’s destiny in the stars.
Over the years since, my heart has slowly sunk as it became obvious, while remaining unofficial for as long as the government dared, until finally one dark day, it DID become official that we were curbing our space program and our exploration of the neighboring planets and concentrating on a space station in orbit around the earth. Like America’s space program the space station continues to go round and round, sort of running in place.
I quickly became bored with that flying breadbox and by NASA’s repeated trips to the flying piece of hi-tech junk we laughingly call a “space station.” Are you as bored as I am that the space truck, “The Shuttle” is way past its prime and, apparently, seems to be falling apart!
So… what happened? I mean, what happened to our great plans to explore space?
The cost? Nah! That’s not it. We placed men on the moon while bearing the expense of losing a war in Southeast Asia, which our government would not allow our military to win. The real cost is in not getting off this planet and finding a new home! Man’s destiny lies out there, among the stars, among the planets. I am solidly convinced of that.
I had hoped before my days on THIS planet were over I would live to witness the first Mars colony. I had assumed we would already have a colony on the moon. But, no… we are still fiddling around with that metal can circling the earth… the Space Station.
The space station, as I recall, was originally planned to be a construction site. (We have, what, maybe two generations of Americans who do not know the original space station was to be the point of embarkation for space ships, and/or star ships as they searched space for the next home to be colonized for the human race.) Parts for a huge star ship (space exploration vehicle) were to be flown up to the station by the shuttles and the humongous star ship was to be built, in space, with the workmen living in the space station until the ship was completed. None of that has happened. That program was cut back and cut back until, for all I know may have been “cut OUT” altogether. It’s as though the entire program has been put on hold and NASA is just running “in place.”
We must get off this rock! Our lack of curiosity about what lies “out there” is troublesome to me. I worry that we have lost our desire to explore. Our horizons have become much too close. We, as a race, have turned inward and that is never good. It seems as though we have decided to “settle” for what we have here. We have lost our “vision”. We are withering on the vine.
I worry, too much, I know, that we have become so preoccupied with our little hovel, earth, that we are missing the really big picture and so much is passing us by. I cannot accept that this is all there is. My God would not have created us and plopped us down on this “dirtball” with no hope of getting off it! We are stifling ourselves. Man needs new worlds to discover. We need to stretch out, and extend our wings, and fly as high, and as far, as we can! Even if we, too, melt our wings… it would be worth the trip!
The exploration of space has been a dream of mine as far back as I care to recall. It bothers me, mightily, that my generation threw away our chance to make it happen. From my perspective that is massive shortsightedness on the part of my generation. Of course, I’m jealous of the generation that WILL make it happen, because I won’t see it and I won’t have a chance to take part in it. What a screwed-up world we live in!
America was a great country when she did not place limits on herself. She could do ANYTHING!
Today, sadly, we have self-imposed limits. It has become politically incorrect to spend the money necessary for the space program and not give it to the poor. I have to tell you… that is wrong! Even Christ himself said: “The poor you have with you always!” Poverty is a fact of life. As Christ said, we are always going to have poor people living among us. No matter what we do! We cannot allow the poverty of a few in this nation to drag down the entire nation. That way lies national suicide!
Look, if man does not get off this tiny blue ball, we are going to exterminate ourselves. The fighting will eventually kill us all. Our differences are never going to be settled, so some of us need to leave. Much as our forefathers left the old country and settled this one, we have to strike out and find that new home. It’s out there. We just have to go find it. And we have to go soon!

Remember “Morning in America”? That was the motto of the Ronald Reagan Campaign back when he ran for President of the US. The man was elected twice by landsides.
Obama’s use of fear to motivate Americans to do what he wants us to do is simply unprecedented in the history of American politics. It is known within the circles of the political elite as the “Politics of Fear.” No, I’m NOT kidding, Mr. and Mrs. American. You are being played for the fools Obama and the democrat/socialists believe that you are. So far they have not been wrong in their estimation of how easily Americans will react to fright.
There is an old expression I ran across sometime back that goes something like this: “Ever notice when it seems there is imminent danger and impending disaster, there is someone who always seems to know exactly what to do? Quit often that person is insane!” I have no idea who said that, if I did I would certainly give then full credit, not only for the expression itself but also for the accuracy in the application of it to the Obama Regime.
Fear mongering is the order of the day in America. Even a child knows, instinctively, that fear is THE great motivator. You want someone to do something… then scare the living daylights out of them by telling them all the awful things that will happen to them if they DON’T do what you are suggesting they do. Watch how quickly they rise to the challenge then!
So far, under the Obama Regime, he has scared the American people into loading themselves, their children and their grand children up with tons of debt that, I dare say, my great-grandchildren will STILL be trying to pay off when they reach middle age. And there is more coming.
Our financial community, especially the stock market, is scared to death of Obama. On Jan. 20, 2009, the stock market saw its worst Inauguration Day drop in U.S. history. It lost 332 points, sliding the Dow to 7949. On Feb. 10, the day the Senate passed its version of Obama's $838 billion spending plan, the Dow nose-dived and lost 382 points. I’d say the stock Market is correct to be scared witless of Obama, especially now that he wants to set limits on their remuneration, their salaries, bonuses, and such. I supposed the Central Committee of the Obama Regime just doesn’t have enough to do redistributing the nation’s wealth, (interpreted that means: MY money and YOUR money).
Obama has told the American people that only government can rescue us from this catastrophe. As a conservative American that goes against everything I believe, indeed, everything I know about government and about people.
Government has no money of it’s own. Every cent it spends must come from somewhere else. It comes from you and from me, the American taxpayer. If there is not enough money the government takes more of your money. It must, for as I said above, government has none. When your money runs out, they “borrow” your children’s money by simply printing more of it and charging it to your child’s account or your grandchild’s account. Oh, did I mention that the more money they print, means more money in circulation, and that will drive the value of the money down? So now you know. We call that inflation. As of this moment we are looking at being hit by rampant inflation in maybe 12 months, more or less. When it hits. The money you DO have will be worth even less than it is today.
You may recall one of Obama’s people saying, shortly after the election: “Never allow a crisis go to waste.” That was Rahm Emanuel, Obama’s Chief of Staff. Why, even the Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, speaking to the European Parliament said: "Never waste a good crisis." Tell me, do you need any more proof that you, the American citizen, are being used, being herded like a, well, a herd of sheep? Does it not make you the least bit angry? As Jonah Goldberg said in his column on March 10th, 2009: “The real scandal is that this administration thinks crises are opportunities for governmental power-grabs.” You can read his excellent article HERE.
Some of us are old enough to remember FDR saying: “We have nothing to fear but fear itself.” In his article, made reference to above, Goldberg says: “Now Barack Obama all but admits that all he has to fear is the loss of fear itself.” Not only does the Obama Regime admit to using fear to get his agenda passed, they openly boast about it and the democrat/socialists call it leadership. How utterly disgusting.
Americans ought to be raging in the streets at being treated as lobotimized robots needing to be told what to do, when to do it, and to whom to do it. THIS is what happens when a society loses it’s rugged individualists, the people who stand up and say, “Wait a damn minute! What you are saying is BS.” So few are left in America today that there is no counter balance to the Pied Pipers of the Left who lead the American elcectorate around by the nose and make them like it!
The Obama Regime tosses around words like “catastrophe”, “crisis”, “disaster”, with what approaches wild abandon. In yesterday’s America someone would have long since called his hand on his fear mongering. The GOP won’t do it. They’re crawling around the floor whimpering like a whipped dog offering to roll over and expose it’s belly for a show of affection, any affection. The party has become pathetic. It is totally useless in any fight with the democrat/socialists. But don’t waste your pity on the GOP. They brought this whipping upon themselves by not listening to their conservative base. They will now pay a price of near biblical porportions and relegated to the wilderness for another 40 years.
Back in 1979 President Jimmy Carer made a a speech that sealed his doom as a two-term president. He said: "The energy crisis is real. It is worldwide. It is a clear and present danger to our nation. These are facts and we simply must face them." The moment he uttered those words his presidency was sealed at one term. But that was back in the day when, as the saying goes, “Men were men, and women were glad of it!”
I cannot speak for you, but I can tell you my feelings on the Obama Regime’s use of fear politics and fear mongering. I despise it. Anytime you frighten people to get your way, no matter what “your way” happens to be, it is a cheap shot and it is a dishonorable way of doing business.
But, no one is rising to challenge Obama and, soon enough, he will be using the fear he, himself, has instilled in the American public to get his way on illegal Immigration (amnesty for illegal aliens), and a universal healthcare system in this country that will keep us bankrupt well into the next millennium.

The MsM (or The Mainstream Media) or as some of our colleagues in the conservative movement have taken to referring to them…”The Government Controlled Press” immediately leapt upon the story of the single shooter at the Holocaust Museum and within near record time were associating him with the political right, or conservatives. You could see it coming from the moment the story broke. And, as is so often the case these days, they got it wrong!
The shooter was identified as a longtime neo-Nazi. One security guard was shot and killed. The 88-year-old shooter was, himself, shot, and as of this writing, was in critical condition.
Apparently our political leftist community decided to use the events at the Holocaust Museum to beat the conservative movement severely about the head and shoulders with stories of this truly awful incident by associating the lone gunman with the conservative movement itself. (Remember now, even the Department of Homeland Security recently identified those in the conservative movement as “Domestic Terrorists”.) There was just one problem with their efforts. Well, there was MORE than ONE problem with it, but the one that stands out and tends to make the leftist press, not only in America, but around the world, REALLY look foolish is the inconvenient fact that the shooter is not a conservative! Shocking! Absolutely shocking, what?
Turns out, the gunman is not a Christian. (Somehow the political left has decided that only rightists can be Christians. Go figure!) In fact, he is a SOCIALIST! He is reported to have made the statement: ““SOCIALISM, represents the future of the West.” I hardly think such a statement would indicate any connection to the conservative movement in “The West.”
Whatever happened to “research”? There was a time in the news business (anywhere on the globe – not just in this country) when journalist actually researched an article before rushing to the presses with words penned from their emotions rather than from careful consideration – and words which had been CHECKED OUT at least once, better yet, checked out three times from three different sources. Not anymore. As a result, this is the kind of reporting we get from a press that swears, with their ink-stained hands over their hearts, that they are unbiased in their reporting. The claim of unbiased reporting from today’s press is pure, unadulterated, Bovine Scatology!
There is an article you need to read just to get a flavor of how deeply the leftist press is willing to go to smear those of us on the right side of the political spectrum. It is titled: “Holocaust Museum Shooter: Christian-Hating Socialist”. Ben Johnson wrote the article. You will find it at Frontpagemag.com HERE.
The left, it would seem, are desperately attempting to re-define socialism. They have for years, now, been referring to conservatives as fascists. That could not be farther from the truth and has had me scratching my head for the SAME number of years wondering how in hell they could make THAT association. Then, I remembered the quality of our public education system in America. Anyone with a good, solid, education KNOWS, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that fascism is not associated, in any way, with the right, but with the left.
With a leftist/socialist President and a leftist/socialist Congress, and a political party, which has all but completely embraced the socialist agenda for America, they’re shuffling about as fast as an ant on the surface of a hot stove. What they fail to understand is - another of those inconvenient facts – “fascism is a totalitarian ideology concentrating all power in the hands of the State and thus not a conservative ideology but a creature of the Left.” (From Mr. Johnson’s article.)
If nothing else good comes of the Obama Regime, hopefully, the American public will finally understand what we conservatives have been decrying for decades now. I refer, of course, to the oh, so obvious pro-left-wing bias of the Mainstream Media in America - AND those countries around the globe that shared our democratic form of government WHEN WE STILL HAD a democratic form of government instead of the socialist government we have now.

A few weeks ago, we warned that a National Healthcare bill, of some sort, would be making its way through Congress by the end of July. Looks as if I was off the mark - too far off the mark, actually. It now appears it could be any day now!
Over the weekend, David Axelrod, a senior White House Adviser, said that President Obama would soon push for a health-care reform plan. Axelrod said the President’s plan would call for the creation of a government-owned health-care company. He went on to predict that Congress would pass such a plan by the end of the summer.
This is called “Incrementalism,” dear reader. Obama knows if he hits us with the total Socialized Healthcare package, right out of the starting gate, it would be doomed to failure. So, he is falling back on the tried and true method of squeezing a little at a time out of the taxpayers in “increments”, so to speak, until one morning, not too far down the road from now, we will awaken to a whole new world of Socialized Medicine in America. Then we will have that wonderful healthcare, oh, say, like the British have. You know - where they have to extract their own teeth, or die while waiting in a queue for treatment for cancer, or wait weeks and months while some government committee decides who lives and who dies because healthcare has had to be rationed because the government system is out of money and the taxpayers simply cannot sustain another tax increase… and the nightmare just goes on and on and on ……
“Oh, but”, you say, “ The President is just creating a government owned insurance COMPANY… not universal healthcare.” To which I would be compelled to ask, “Have you not been paying attention?”
Look – private Insurance companies have no hope of survival in competition with a government owned insurance company. As with all government agencies it will be financed with your tax dollars and would never have to worry about meeting a budget, or making money for the stockholders - none of the ordinary problems faced by a private “for profit” company. Private insurers will be driven out of business until, in a very short time, there will be only ONE insurance company in America… the GOVERNMENT Insurance Company… or, as it will most likely be known…“Obamacare”! That’s when Americans get hit with the second increment of the plan… the entire universal healthcare plan including inferior medical care, massive tax increases, and healthcare rationing –and worse than all these, government control of your very LIFE! (There is an article at the Wall Street Journal Online titled: “How Washington Rations - ObamaCare omen: a case study in 'cost-control'” that will give you some insight into what you and I can expect in the way of healthcare rationing by the politicians in Washington once this new ObamaCare gets underway. I ran across an article, while doing a little research the other day, entitled “Dear America (Canada Warns US about Socialized Medicine).” We recommend you take a look at it. It is brief and to the point and well worth the couple or three minutes it will take you to read it. You’ll find it HERE. Understand this: I believe, as I said earlier, some sort of socialized Medicine legislation will be passed by the US Congress this year. Most likely it will be the ObamaCare government-owned insurance company. Just remember, it is only the beginning. It is, in fact, the beginning of your life as a serf, as a slave to the government. Because, you see, that is what socialism is - slavery by another name.
There has always been an excellent reason America was the only industrialized nation on earth without socialized medicine. Because we are, at least we WERE, a free and independent people who believed in ourselves, and in our God, to meet the challenges thrown at us by whatever and whomever and always find it within ourselves to stand our ground and overcome. Somehow, somewhere, along the way, we have lost that belief in ourselves. We have now become like so many of the countries to which we used to send missionaries.
I can recall when Americans were known for our rugged individualism, for our independence, for our undaunted “can do spirit”. Back in those days we won wars simply because it never entered our minds there was a possibility we COULD lose! America was different. We were a nation built from the human “cast offs” of the other nations of the planet. Those were the people who crossed vast oceans in the holds of ships with only the planking of a single deck separating them from the filthy bilges of the ship’s cesspools below them. All this they endured just for a chance, and ONLY a chance, to live and breathe free and take advantage of whatever opportunity this new land might, in its bounty, offer them.
Americans are a mongrel people, a mixed-breed, a hodge-podge of genes tempered in the crucible of hardship and molded in a unique form the world has never seen before. Made thusly, and armed with the belief that God was truly on our side, we were unstoppable by anyone or anything save ourselves.
The introduction of Socialism, by the former Democratic Party, has infiltrated our hearts, our minds, AND our souls, and replaced all the above with self-doubt and squashed our belief in ourselves until we have become a blob of malleable putty in the hands of a malicious spirit which has all but replaced our belief in ourselves and in our God. A nation thus disemboweled cannot long survive the onslaught of the nations so long embarrassed by our obvious superiority, which was earned by the sweat of hard work and dedication to the principal’s set down, in writing, by our founders in the Constitution and by our Creator in The Bible.
All this has brought America to a crossroads. Take the right road and we can regain our glory. Take the other and we become one of the mediocre nations who look with longing on their lost empires and their lost glory.
We Americans have a chance, albeit a small chance, to show some of the spine of our ancestors and stop this massive takeover of a huge portion of this nation’s treasury and an even greater portion of the self-respect of our citizens placed in our hands for safe keeping by the founders of this unique experiment in democracy.
They’re going to come at us fast and hard with everything they’ve got while attempting to keep us off balance, all the while, with one crisis after another, real or imagined.
We can do it - but it is going to require that we call on the last reserves we have of courage and determination and a deeper reliance on our God for guidance that we must be willing to unhesitatingly follow.
We have heard it over and over again: “Freedom is not free.” America is about to learn exactly why that claim was ever made and what it truly means.
The decision is a simple one. We must choose between socialism and slavery to the state, or democracy and freedom for ourselves and the generations of Americans yet unborn. And we must make that decision and act upon it today. There is no time to lose.

A few weeks ago, we warned that a National Healthcare bill, of some sort, would be making its way through Congress by the end of July. Looks as if I was off the mark - too far off the mark, actually. It now appears it could be any day now!
Over the weekend, David Axelrod, a senior White House Adviser, said that President Obama would soon push for a health-care reform plan. Axelrod said the President’s plan would call for the creation of a government-owned health-care company. He went on to predict that Congress would pass such a plan by the end of the summer.
This is called “Incrementalism,” dear reader. Obama knows if he hits us with the total Socialized Healthcare package, right out of the starting gate, it would be doomed to failure. So, he is falling back on the tried and true method of squeezing a little at a time out of the taxpayers in “increments”, so to speak, until one morning, not too far down the road from now, we will awaken to a whole new world of Socialized Medicine in America. Then we will have that wonderful healthcare, oh, say, like the British have. You know - where they have to extract their own teeth, or die while waiting in a queue for treatment for cancer, or wait weeks and months while some government committee decides who lives and who dies because healthcare has had to be rationed because the government system is out of money and the taxpayers simply cannot sustain another tax increase… and the nightmare just goes on and on and on ……
“Oh, but”, you say, “ The President is just creating a government owned insurance COMPANY… not universal healthcare.” To which I would be compelled to ask, “Have you not been paying attention?”
Look – private Insurance companies have no hope of survival in competition with a government owned insurance company. As with all government agencies it will be financed with your tax dollars and would never have to worry about meeting a budget, or making money for the stockholders - none of the ordinary problems faced by a private “for profit” company. Private insurers will be driven out of business until, in a very short time, there will be only ONE insurance company in America… the GOVERNMENT Insurance Company… or, as it will most likely be known…“Obamacare”! That’s when Americans get hit with the second increment of the plan… the entire universal healthcare plan including inferior medical care, massive tax increases, and healthcare rationing –and worse than all these, government control of your very LIFE! (There is an article at the Wall Street Journal Online titled: “How Washington Rations - ObamaCare omen: a case study in 'cost-control'” that will give you some insight into what you and I can expect in the way of healthcare rationing by the politicians in Washington once this new ObamaCare gets underway. I ran across an article, while doing a little research the other day, entitled “Dear America (Canada Warns US about Socialized Medicine).” We recommend you take a look at it. It is brief and to the point and well worth the couple or three minutes it will take you to read it. You’ll find it HERE. Understand this: I believe, as I said earlier, some sort of socialized Medicine legislation will be passed by the US Congress this year. Most likely it will be the ObamaCare government-owned insurance company. Just remember, it is only the beginning. It is, in fact, the beginning of your life as a serf, as a slave to the government. Because, you see, that is what socialism is - slavery by another name.
There has always been an excellent reason America was the only industrialized nation on earth without socialized medicine. Because we are, at least we WERE, a free and independent people who believed in ourselves, and in our God, to meet the challenges thrown at us by whatever and whomever and always find it within ourselves to stand our ground and overcome. Somehow, somewhere, along the way, we have lost that belief in ourselves. We have now become like so many of the countries to which we used to send missionaries.
I can recall when Americans were known for our rugged individualism, for our independence, for our undaunted “can do spirit”. Back in those days we won wars simply because it never entered our minds there was a possibility we COULD lose! America was different. We were a nation built from the human “cast offs” of the other nations of the planet. Those were the people who crossed vast oceans in the holds of ships with only the planking of a single deck separating them from the filthy bilges of the ship’s cesspools below them. All this they endured just for a chance, and ONLY a chance, to live and breathe free and take advantage of whatever opportunity this new land might, in its bounty, offer them.
Americans are a mongrel people, a mixed-breed, a hodge-podge of genes tempered in the crucible of hardship and molded in a unique form the world has never seen before. Made thusly, and armed with the belief that God was truly on our side, we were unstoppable by anyone or anything save ourselves.
The introduction of Socialism, by the former Democratic Party, has infiltrated our hearts, our minds, AND our souls, and replaced all the above with self-doubt and squashed our belief in ourselves until we have become a blob of malleable putty in the hands of a malicious spirit which has all but replaced our belief in ourselves and in our God. A nation thus disemboweled cannot long survive the onslaught of the nations so long embarrassed by our obvious superiority, which was earned by the sweat of hard work and dedication to the principal’s set down, in writing, by our founders in the Constitution and by our Creator in The Bible.
All this has brought America to a crossroads. Take the right road and we can regain our glory. Take the other and we become one of the mediocre nations who look with longing on their lost empires and their lost glory.

It worries me that our liberal friends seem, somehow, to think that showing one's fangs to an enemy is distasteful but cannot grasp how rolling over onto one's back and presenting one's soft underbelly can be construed as a definite show of weakness and servility. What Obama was doing in the Middle East recently was, in the eyes of the Middle Easterner, a definite sign of weakness and an open invitation to Muslim disdain and disgust. They will smile, take his hand in a demonstration of friendship, slip the political knife into his back, and wait for the moment of optimum opportunity to strike the Great Satan in his own home, wreaking murder and mayhem amongst a people so brilliantly stupid as to choose a leader so naive, so narcissistic, and so committed to punishing America for it’s excellence.
I continued to hear how Obama represented the answer to Muslim prayers, how he was going to fulfill their ultimate dreams, how so much of the Muslim world had penned so much of their hopes and dreams and desires onto one person and that one person was/is Obama. The Mainstream Media and the Government Controlled Media fawned all over Obama and his entourage. It became sickening.
But what is that one dream of the Muslim world they believe Obama can help them fulfill? Could it be the Muslim dream of a one-world caliphate, a single Muslim kingdom that would span the entire globe?
Many questions are being asked here in America about Obama’s apparent favoring of the Arabs over the Israelis, as well. Many American Jews who voted for Obama are looking at their vote and questioning whether or not they made a colossal mistake in supporting the man many of us on the conservative side of the aisle tried, desperately, to warn them against. Obama has made it clear that he intends to support a Two-State Policy with an Arab state called Palestine alongside the state of Israel. Methinks Mr. Obama has no idea the potential for trouble having a STATE of Palestine next door to Israel will cause. There will be a continual state of war. Israel having to protect itself against a stateless bunch of Arab refugees and Israel protecting itself against a State of Palestine is two entirely different things - and far more deadly.
So, as Americans, can we expect massive change in the way the US is viewed by the Muslim world? No. I think not. Well, I DO suspect there might be less respect for America amongst the Muslims after Obama’s trip. I mean, once you get past the fawning press corp based in America, it is not really difficult to see that Mr. Obama is a just a naive young man with a head full of socialist dreams and a burning desire to redistributed the wealth of America no matter the cost to the average American and the kids and grandkids, yet unborn, of those same Americans. Once the hype is toned down, and the deliberate smoke screen is lifted, only the self-delusional can still see Obama as something he is not –a populist messiah sent to save America from herself.
That “open dialogue” between America and the Muslim world, Mr. Obama says he is seeking, remains as illusive as ever, only now the Muslim world, including the Islamofacist terrorists, have even more information about the Obama Administration, and their weaknesses, and more information about the man - Obama.
Even before Obama’s plane went “wheels-up” there were “over-inflated expectations” for his tour of the Middle East. Now that the tour is over, it would seem to us the use of the term “over-inflated expectations” might, itself, have been an understatement.

Blame America’s Parents For This Mess.

When a village raises your children, and those children reach voting age, you get a country with a government just like the US government today. You get a country with an economy just like the economy the US has today. You get a country with morals just like the morals the US has today, in other words - you get a socialist country, which is imploding, caving in, upon itself – just like America in 2009.
I submit to you that much, if not most, of what’s wrong with America today is a direct result of the way America’s children were raised. American parents abdicated their role as parents and teachers and instead allowed the village to do THEIR job for them.
There is no denying it - we allowed a village to raise our children and now we are paying the price. I am convinced our failure at child rearing is the cause of most of the crime and vandalism done in and to our towns and cities today. It is also the root cause of street gangs rivaling the murderous gangs of the old west -all because a village raised those kids.
In actuality, it takes a mom and a dad to take responsibility for their offspring and raise those children in the way they should go. It is the most important duty of every parent. As Solomon said: “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is grown he will not depart from it.” The scriptures also teach us that: “as the twig is bent, so growth the tree”! There it is, folks. Child-Rearing 101!
Did you see anything about a village raising your child? I didn’t, either. A village raising a child is strictly a socialist idea. They know that if they can get hold to that young mind they can indoctrinate that child and create another leftist clone. And they are correct. They can. It has happened, already. If you need evidence to convince you all you need do is look at our government today. It is a socialist government.
If you are going to bring a child into this world… be prepared to raise that child and teach that child what it means to be an American. Teach him, or her, the freedoms, the privileges, and most importantly the responsibility, one has as an American toward his fellow Americans.
Daycare has caused more damage to the American family and the American society that an atom bomb would have caused! Mothers, going off to work and dropping their children off to be raised by a stranger. That stranger spends more time a week with their children than they do. And they wonder why they have discipline problems when they have their child at home? Think about it. The child is just a visitor in his own home. His real home is at the daycare center!
I remember that my mother decided she would go to work, soon after my younger brother was born. He was a toddler and I was no more than five years of age. The company provided a nursery school for the employees, so my mother and father dropped us off there on mother’s first day at work. It lasted almost an entire day. By the end of the day, I had managed to cuss out the lady in charge of the place, got slapped across the face so hard the full imprint of the lady’s hand was plastered all over the left side of my face… all because I did not like the way she was treating my brother and I went to his defense. She decided she would treat me the same way; I rebelled and told her to take her hands off me and called her a” white-headed old Bi-ch”! That’s when I got smacked. The lady was fired and my parents nearly sued the company… but for fear of losing my father’s job, they did not. Thus, ended my one, and only, personal experience with daycare! I remain proud of it to this day! And… I detest over zealous authority figures to this day.
No, a village cannot raise a child properly. Oh, sure, they can raise a child, but you get … well, what we have today, socialists, and young barbarians!
Young parents, if you want your child reared properly, with the values YOU believe in, and with the core beliefs of YOUR family, then YOU raise your child YOURSELF! If, on the other hand, you trust someone else’s values above your own, then you allow someone else to raise your kids. It’s as simply as that.
