We must take a serious look at our laws and how they are enforced

Most people are for law and order, and most obey the laws that keep society functioning. And most have great respect for the men and women who have the sometimes-dangerous job of enforcing those laws.

That said, some laws are just plain dumb and should be done away with, and what is more important, there are so many laws, rules and regulations today that no one can know all the decrees from the federal, state and local governments that affect him or her, and therefore it is impossible to obey them all. This over-regulated environment puts each of us in the position of likely being in violation of one or more of them at any given moment.

What's worse than so many decrees from so many sources, however, is what seems to be a growing tendency of law enforcement agencies at all levels to imagine that even tiny infractions warrant the most dramatic responses.

Case in point: After making a purchase at a Charlottesville, Va. grocery store one night, a 20-year-old University of Virginia student and two roommates were approached in their car by a group of six men and one woman in street clothes. "They were showing unidentifiable badges after they approached us, but we became frightened, as they were not in anything close to a uniform," she recalled in a written account of the incident.

Police say one of the group jumped on the hood of her car. The girl said one drew a gun, and they tried to break out car windows. Unsure who they were, the girl tried to flee the dark parking lot and called 911. Given the circumstances and stories of people being assaulted by phony police officers, who could blame her?

It turned out to be a squad of plainclothes state Alcoholic Beverage Control officers who suspected the girl had purchased beer in the store – she hadn’t – and was under-age. She spent the night in jail as a result.

Question: Who at the ABC thought this procedure actually made sense? Is it reasonable for a squad of plainclothes agents to approach three female college students in a dark parking lot, fail to adequately identify themselves, point a gun at them, jump on their car and try to break out the windows because they think one of them had bought beer that she might not be old enough to purchase?

Prosecutors dropped charges against the young woman, describing her as having panicked at the sight of plainclothes agents who approached her and her roommates.

Case 2: When the Leander, Texas police wanted to serve a warrant on Bradly Simpson, they sent officers to his home. When no one responded to the knock on the front door, a couple of officers walked around the side of the house toward the back yard whereupon they saw two German Shepards coming toward them. One officer pulled his gun and fired three shots. The police said the dog was growling and aggressively coming at them. Fortunately, the officer’s aim was not good and only one of the dogs was hit, but only wounded.

After that spectacle, the police were unable to serve the warrant because they were at the wrong address, and in the wrong neighborhood. Worse than that, not far from where the dog was shot the home owners’ terminally-ill six year-old grandchild was playing.

Worse, yet, the home owners said neither dog was aggressive, that they were merely curious about who was visiting their home, and had never behaved the way the police claimed. And, as it turns out, the lady of the house is a professional dog trainer, and therefore knows about dog behavior, and furthermore noted that there are routinely customers visiting her home, so strangers don’t spook her dogs.

And what heinous crime prompted the police to go to Mr. Simpson’s home to serve the warrant? He had an expired vehicle registration.

Leander police officials say what happened was "an unfortunate accident." Wrong: What happened is that the police screwed up.

The number of rogue law enforcement personnel that intentionally abuse their authority and position is surely very small. Nevertheless, instances of over-aggressive law enforcement action and plain dumb mistakes like these are indefensible and intolerable, and there appears to be a growing attitude toward over-aggressive behavior.  

To maintain the public trust and respect government and law enforcement are going to have to stop doing stupid and dangerous things like these examples, and even worse incidents that have caused serious injury and even death for innocent citizens.

Solutions? Do we really need so many law enforcement officers that seven of them can spend nights sitting around in one store parking lot waiting to catch an under-age person buying beer? Does an expired registration really justify armed police visiting the vehicle owner’s home?

What about accountability? Officials that exercise bad judgment or act rashly must be disciplined, encouraging them to carefully consider how to properly and safely do their jobs, and also demonstrating that public officials really take seriously their duty to adequately serve the people they work for.

Something must be done, and the sooner, the better.

I recently came across an article by John W. White­head, Pres­i­dent of The Ruther­ford Institute entitled: “The State of the Nation: I am afraid.”

In the article Mr. Whitehead says: “We’re encased in what some are calling an elec­tronic con­cen­tra­tion camp. The gov­ern­ment con­tinues to amass data files on more and more Amer­i­cans. Every­where we go, we are watched: at the banks, at the gro­cery store, at the mall, crossing the street.” Mr. Whitehead goes on to say: “We are meta­mor­phosing into a police state.” He says: “Fusion cen­ters – data col­lecting agen­cies spread throughout the country, aided by the National Secu­rity Agency – con­stantly mon­itor our com­mu­ni­ca­tions, every­thing from our internet activity and web searches to text mes­sages, phone calls and emails. This data is then fed to gov­ern­ment agen­cies, which are now inter­con­nected – the CIA to the FBI, the FBI to local police – a rela­tion­ship which will make a tran­si­tion to mar­tial law that much easier. We may very well be one ter­rorist attack away from seeing armed forces on our streets – and the Amer­ican people may not put up much resis­tance.”

Mr. Whitehead is concerned that our Constitution will come under attack. He says: “As national bor­ders dis­solve in the face of spreading glob­al­iza­tion, the like­li­hood increases that our Con­sti­tu­tion, which is the supreme law of America, will be sub­verted in favor of inter­na­tional laws. What that means is that our Con­sti­tu­tion will come increas­ingly under attack.”

I, too, am concerned for my country. As Mr. Whitehead has said this is not the America I grew up in. I do not recognize the country we live in today as America.

I see and hear more and more fellow citizens holding hushed and whispered conversations for fear the government –or -- one of their neighbors who will turn them in to the authorities as a demonstration of their “Good Citizen” status will overhear them. America is coming more and more, every day, to resemble the old Soviet Union… certainly not AMERICA.

What happened? Americans decided they want security more than they want freedom. Like the Athenians of ancient Greece -- we may never be free again.

I am convinced, more than ever, as I watch the Obama Regime in action, that the people of America are being set-up. “Set-up for what?” you may ask. How about a complete takeover of the country? I believe we are watching a coup de’tat take place right before our eyes.

I have mentioned a number of times, in the past, that I fear the Obama Regime will not allow the November Mid Term Election to take place as scheduled. I have postulated the Obama Regime will declare a “national emergency” and “postpone” the November elections… indefinitely.

Ok. So I am paranoid. That doesn’t mean I’m not RIGHT!

It seems I am not alone in seeing evidence of a “plot” in progress amongst the “minions of menace” in the backrooms of the Obama White House. They are in power now, and the do not intend to allow that power to slip through their fingers -- certainly not through free and fair elections… not when those elections can be rigged to go their way.

There is an article by Ed Lasky at the “American Thinker” you need to read. Every American needs to read it and consider it very carefully. The article is titled: “Obama and the White House Chicago Boys.” In the article Mr. Lasky says the following: “Barack Obama has a problem. His polls numbers are dropping and his policies are fueling an angry backlash across America. The Democratic Party is held in disrepute, and congressional Democrats are dropping like flies. This imperils Obama's radical agenda and his own 2012 prospects. What to do? Game the system and rig the future elections. That is how things are done in the streets of Chicago.”

Mr. Lasky says: “What we got was a team that will stoop very low indeed to win elections, honesty and transparency be damned. Obama may be a good basketball player, but he and his team excel in the blood sport of politics, and they will use every trick and tactic, no matter how disgraceful, to win. That may be the Chicago Way, but it is not the American Way.

America is in DEEP trouble. Even though my fellow Americans HAVE begun to awaken to the threat to their freedom the socialists and Marxists/communists in the White House pose, not enough have been roused to action. Remember a few weeks ago, I wrote of Obama’s Chicago style politics? Well, then, you were not blind-sided by the EPA’s move to declare their regulation of so-called greenhouse gases.

When you peel away the BS spewed by the EPA you will clearly see the ploy being used by the Obama Regime to say to the Congress, either YOU pass the Cap and Trade bill, or MY EPA will pass regulations that will regulate practically every aspect of American life from the home, to factory, to the office, to the church, to the automobile, -- you name it -- and the Obama Regime will be riding herd over every living American exhaling CO-2 today!

I have to ask – do YOU STILL THINK YOU LIVE IN A REPRESENTATIVE REPUBLIC? Because -- if you do, you are living in a dream, a dream that is, as of this hour, turning into a nightmare!

We warned you the appointment of all those Obama “Czars” was simply another way to get around the Congress, the legal legislative branch of the former US government. That was before America went socialist (with the election of Comrade Obama) on the way to COMMUNISM.
Comrade Obama’s Czars have one reason to exist and that is to do the President’s bidding and to by-pass the Congress. The Congress doesn’t seem to know it yet but they are a weak, impotent, bunch of “useless idiots” Comrade Obama has used like cheap prostitutes to satisfy his immediate needs while his Czars, the “Gang of 39” settle in and prepare to rule America.

You see, dear reader, Obama no longer needs the Congress, they are superfluous, and, now with the use of the Comrades in the EPA, he has driven home that point to all but the most densely minded Congressperson and Senator in the Congress. After today’s Police State antics, by the EPA, the members of Congress ought to feel icky, dirty, and, yes, “used.” And it will get worse for them unless they toe the line. Comrade Obama will continue to drive home the difficult-to-accept fact that he has seized power in Washington, for himself and his communist cadre, much as Napoleon crowned himself emperor -- and Comrade Obama will make that fact abundantly clear, over the weeks and months ahead, as he by-passes Congress in favor of his Czars whose departments can formulate “regulations that have the force of law.”

Now, what I have just described to you is a dictator. A dictator is a ruler who dictates how a country is run. In this case, Comrade Obama is not only going to dictate how the country is run, he is going to dictate how your home and your family is run! He is going to dictate how your factory us run, how your business is run, how many miles a monh you can drive your vehicle, what kind of appliance you can have in your home, and it just goes on and on and on.
BIG BROTHER is loose in the land!

Take the blinders off America. We have a COMMUNIST in the White House and a cadre of COMMUNISTS in that damnable bunch of sycophantic, like-minded, “Progressive Czars,” otherwise know as Obama’s Gang. By the way, “PROGRESSIVE” was the word used by COMMUNISTS in 20th century America to self-describe themselves. They almost never, EVER, referred to themselves as “COMMUNISTS.” They referred to themselves as “Progressives.” I am of the opinion they have not changed – American “COMMUNISTS”, in Washington at least, still refer to themselves as “Progressives.” Remember that when you hear the crowd of so-called democrats in Washington refer to themselves as “Progressives” and remember -- that word is a code word for COMMUNIST. Step back, and, as we said, take off the blinders and look objectively at the Czars Comrade Obama has gathered around him and it is fairly easy to see they are his “Gang of 39.” Beginning on December 7th, 2009, that "Gang" became the government of the United States.

So what is it all about? It is about taking over the US government, crushing the “Representative Republic” that WAS America and turning America into a communist dictatorship with Comrade Obama and his Gang of 39 running EVERYTHING!

I heard a conservative commentator, on TV, the other night; declare that the American government is now a socialist government disguised as a GREEN GOVERNMENT. Ok, I can see that. Where did all those commies go when the Soviet Socialist Republic of Russia fell apart some 20 odd years ago? They simply moved into the Green Movement, the so-called environmental movement. Oh yes! They are green on the outside – but -- on the inside they are RED – as red as any “communist red” ever was! (Think Watermelon!)

I have concluded, it is far too late to try to save our government. It is gone. Its demise was extremely fast. We have no representative government left in America. We are now moving into that dreaded Police State we conservatives have warned about for years -- if Americans ever were weak enough (and dumb enough) to allow the so-called Progressives to gain control of the American government.

What you saw within the past 24 hours was the installation of the Communist Police State in America. What you saw when Comrade Obama’s EPA released and made public its decision to regulate greenhouse gases, including CO-2, was the opening shot fired across the bow of the Congress. It said, as plainly as is possible: “Congress, you are no longer needed! From now on we make the rules!”

They are correct. Congress IS irrelevant. Congress is not needed any longer, In fact, Congress ought to disband and go home and cower in their closets and basements until Comrade Obama’s own brand of the KGB kicks in their door, at three in the morning, and drags them away to a re-education center in the Mohave Desert somewhere.

In less than a year, Comrade Obama has very nearly destroyed this country. If Americans are to save enough of the US to rebuild after Comrade Obama has left the stage, we are going to have to go underground – and soon -- for we will be hunted down and neutralized. Call it paranoia if you like, but when everyone IS out to get you, then Paranoia is darn good thinking!

When a leader thinks he is strong enough to emasculate the Congress then he is surely demented enough to believe he can extinguish the flame of freedom and liberty now, admittedly, flickering in our doubtful and troubled hearts.

I have said before that I suspect the November 2008 election was likely the last free election America will have. It is not difficult to slam the only door Americans have to those now nearly impotent leaders we ELECTED to represent us.

Declaring a National Emergency due to a collapsing national economy and suspending elections, as well as the constitution, just isn’t that difficult, especially when you have your own socialist/communist government as Comrade Obama does, to back you up.

Alarmist? You bet I am alarmed! And you should be, as well!

Here are excerpts from an e-mail I received today. I have not verified all of the allegations made in this e-mail:

" . . .We have found out that our little town of Hardin is the 'test town' for President Obama’s new law to privatize the police force of local communities. Last night, the city council voted to disband our sheriff’s department and to bring in a private security company to police the town. . .

. . .Yesterday, a convoy of twelve 'blacked out' Mercedes Benz SUV’s were brought into town. They were already painted with Hardin’s colors and ‘Hardin Police Force’ was already painted on them! Hardin’s sheriff’s department will no longer be in operation after the month of October. During October, the Sheriff’s Department is to train this new security force in all the logistics of running the town of Hardin. . .

. . .Earlier this month, in an interview in regards to this Hardin prison and the training center that they are planning to build, we were told that seventy five percent of the security officers that were to be trained would be ‘international’. . .

This private security force is already patrolling the town. They had several people stopped yesterday. Also, it appears that they are building some type of heavy duty gate at the entrances of our town.

In an interview, the American Police Force security has stated that they will stay here one month to assess the population and then they will make their permanent base here. They said they are scouting out thirty towns in the U.S. but that Hardin is the first. Also, President Obama has authorized and signed a bill for full government funding of the privatization of the police departments throughout the U.S. By the end of October, it is their plan to have all major cities locked down!

In an interview with one of the city council members, he stated that this new H1N1 shot which has not been tested will be mandatory and if a resident of our town refuses, they will be taken to our prison where they will be quarantined. A federal law has been passed that makes it mandatory that all health care workers have to take this new shot. If they do not, they will automatically loose their jobs. . .

I (name withheld by this editor) am also told by a reliable source that today one of the managers at a local business in Hardin was visited by this new private security force which is now the new Hardin Police Department. He is an avid hunter and they came to inform him that they had a list of all fire arms that he owned; this includes all the residents of our town, and that he would need to take his guns down to have them put a marking device on them.

Also, today, one of the main streets in Hardin was completely blocked off and they have been setting up information booths where they are passing out pamphlets with information on this new H1N1 shot.

. . .I am not making up any of this information! You can go on the internet and verify most of this information from KULR 8, MSNBC or Fox news. Things have changed so quickly in the last 24 hours! Things are not and will never be the same. . ."
