There is something strange going on in the progressive blogosphere these days: instead of uniting against Republicans, progressive bloggers like Matt Stoller have decided to declare war on every Democrat who they consider not to be progressive (read anti-war) enough. . . .

. . .Seemingly frustrated that there are actually Democratic Congressmen that do not necessarily always vote along party lines - but make up their own minds - they have decided to ask their readers to make profiles of so-called “Bush Dogs” (Blue Dogs and New Democrats) as to be able to target them in the coming years, and to replace them with progressive, left-wing Republicans.

An example of a so-called Bush Dog they are targeting is Brian Baird. Baird opposed the war against Iraq from the get-go but believes that since the US went ahead and attacked anyway, it should persist and be successful. He believes that the surge might be paying off, at least to a degree, and that - therefore - the troops should not be withdrawn soon. So, Open Left and Daily Kos have decided to target Blair - they are writing negative posts about him, etc.
Of course, Baird is not the only victim. Once one pays attention to what is happening, one also sees that they are targeting Hillary Clinton. Obviously not to replace her, but instead to make sure that she does not win the nomination. Besides attacking Hillary straight on, the left-wingers of the Daily Kos, Open Left and MyDD, also seem to have declared Bill Clinton their enemy. Their new best buddy? Al Franken.

Those Notorious Greeley Girls

When you’re right, you’re right. As unpleasant as it may be, I think it’s finally time for us to face up to the facts and issue some apologies. A more thorough examination of the historical evidence appears to support what the liberals have been telling us all along — that we Americans were, indeed, responsible for the rise of radical Islam.

There, I’ve said it and I feel better now.

Of course, I’m not referring to those controversial actions of our present war-mongering Bush administration. Nor even those awkward missteps of that bumbling Clintonian gang. No, we’re not talking here about Reagan or Carter or any of the preceding administrations or any of their misguided foreign policy blunders. This has little to do with any of our politicians or statesmen or generals or religious leaders. In fact, the likely instigators in this sordid affair held no major governmental posts whatsoever. And while many of them, although somewhat ‘on in years’ are still with us, they probably won’t be found anywhere near Washington D.C. Rather, they’re spread all across America, living out their quiet normal lives in virtual anonymity, neatly tucked into their warm quilted comforters.

Who, then, are these mysterious golden-agers? And what did they do that so infuriated the peaceful Muslim ummah and set the Middle East ablaze?They are, God bless them, the Notorious Greeley Girls. And what they did was dance. And their dancing changed our world.

The facts of the story are as follows. In 1948, a relatively unknown author and minor functionary from the Egyptian Ministry of Education was sent to the United States to study our educational system. A shy, quiet, somewhat droopy little man, with an almost comical Charlie Chaplin moustache, his name was Sayyid Qutb (pronounced ‘kut’tib’). Unfortunately for the fastidious Mister Qutb, his unhappy sojourn in America would prove to be more than just a classic case of culture shock; it would soon become a deeply traumatic experience from which he would never fully recover.

By 1950, Qutb had made his way to that infamous hotbed of sin and licentiousness, Greeley, Colorado, where he enrolled at Colorado State Teachers College, now the University of Northern Colorado. Although forty-two years old, the hyper-sensitive and deeply pious Sayyid was, by all accounts, still a virgin. And evidently, almost everything about the 1950s free-wheeling Greeley cultural scene deeply shocked him and offended his tender sensibilities.

He found Americans brash, materialistic, immoral and self-indulgent. He was astonished by the Greeleyite’s apparent obsession with their well-manicured green lawns, and their ungoverned drinking of alcohol and wanton indulgence in hedonistic pleasures. He found the men to be shallow and brutal, their sports, football, wrestling and boxing, savage and pointless, and their ignorance of the world profound.But Qutb saved his most vicious and vehement condemnations for those pretty Greeley coeds.

“The American girl,” he would later write in his book ‘The America I Have Seen’, “is well acquainted with her body’s seductive capacity. She knows it lies in the face, and in expressive eyes, and thirsty lips. she knows seductiveness lies in the round breasts, the full buttocks, and in the shapely thighs, sleek legs — and she knows all this and does not hide it.” Whew! Thirsty lips and shapely thighs — those Greeley Girls must have been pretty hot stuff. We can just picture these promiscuous bobby-soxers provocatively sauntering about the Colorado State campus in their ankle-length plaid skirts and their sexy penny loafers. No wonder poor Sayyid was so scandalized. But, for our Twentieth-Century Savonarola there was still worse to come.

Qutb devoted some of his most lurid and lascivious purple prose attempting to describe what he perceived to be the Greeley Girls’ most wanton debauchery — their sensual and suggestive dancing. “They danced to the tunes of the gramophones, and the dance floor was replete with tapping feet, enticing legs, arms wrapped around waists, lips pressed to lips, and chests pressed to chests. The atmosphere was full of desire…”

For those of you who weren’t around, or those who may have forgotten, the most popular record of 1950 was that catchy little alphabetical love song “‘A’ - You’re adorable”, sung by Perry Como and the Fontane Sisters. Also big that year was “The Tennessee Waltz”, by Patti Page and the immortal “Mona Lisa”, by Nat “King’ Cole. The big bands of the 30s and 40s were starting to fade away but the Tommy Dorsey Band was still around and still drew large crowds of enthusiastic fans. Doris Day was hugely popular, and Frank Sinatra was just beginning his epic journey to stardom. A new age of “bebop” jazz was being ushered in by talented musicians like trumpeter Miles Davis and baritone saxophonist Gerry Mulligan, whose intricately-scored and heavily orchestrated new recordings were heralded as the “Birth of the Cool”.

Yet somehow, in the midst of all this soulless hedonism, between June 1948 and May 1949 the Great Satan had managed to extricate itself from its frenetic self-indulgence long enough to have flown 278,228 flights into Soviet-blockaded Berlin carrying over 2 million tons of food and supplies, which, at the cost of 31 American lives, most likely saved a whole generation of Berliners from starvation and possible death. And somehow, this decadent self-centered nation managed to find the time to vote 5.43 billion 1950 dollars in foreign assistance to help some of their former enemies to rebuild war-ravaged Europe.

Of course, in Sayyid Qutb’s moral ledger book, all of this Yankee magnanimity would count for little. For he had seen the Notorious Greeley Girls dance, and that was all he needed to see.

In 1951, Qutb returned to Egypt and became a leader of the fundamentalist, anti-Western Muslim Brotherhood. Considered one of the most influential Islamic theorists, his writings would become the theoretical basis for radical Islam. Eventually, Sayyid Qutb was accused of plotting against the Egyptian government and imprisoned. He was executed in 1966.Among his many pupils and ardent followers was Ayman Zawahiri, who would later become mentor to Osama bin Laden.

And the rest, as they say, is history.

Tony Blair Nails It On The Head

The Guardian has a piece out where Tony Blair speaks his mind and his words, if listened to, are a good example of what is wrong with the way we are fighting "radical Extreme Islamics".

Jumping to one specific paragraph here so I can explain my statement above.

Pelosi, Reid, far left liberals LISTEN UP, this is a lesson you folks refuse to learn.

Blair added: 'How are [we] oppressing them? You're oppressing them when you support the people who are trying to blow them up.'

Thats it in a nutshell folks.

How many times do you see a liberal blog accuse the conservatives of lumping all Muslims in with extremists?

The opposite is the truth actually.

I have often, as well as seen other conservatives often, separate the two, because they are separate.

Why do conservatives separate the two? Because they are two different species from each other, Moderate Muslims wish to live in peace and practice their religion, Extremists wish to force everyone to practice their religion or DIE.

It is the liberals playing thier political games that misrepresent how conservatives separate the two and instead of helping us fight extremists. They claim that by going after those extremists we are being "racist" or hate "all" Muslims.

This must stop because there is an enemy out there and denying it does not mean they do not want you dead.

The idea that as a Muslim in this country that you don't have the freedom to express your religion or your views, I mean you've got far more freedom in this country than you do in most Muslim countries,' Blair told Observer columnist Will Hutton, who presents the documentary.

'The reason we are finding it hard to win this battle is that we're not actually fighting it properly. We're not actually standing up to these people and saying, "It's not just your methods that are wrong, your ideas are absurd. Nobody is oppressing you. Your sense of grievance isn't justified."'

Blair held out the example of the overthrow of the Taliban in Afghanistan - criticised by Islamists as an example of the heavy-handed imperial West oppressing Muslims - to highlight unfounded claims of grievance. He asked how it is possible to claim that Afghanistan's Muslims are being oppressed when the Taliban 'used to execute teachers for teaching girls in schools'.

Blair added: 'How are [we] oppressing them? You're oppressing them when you support the people who are trying to blow them up.'

Blair, who normally chooses his language carefully when he talks about Islamists, also takes a swipe at critics who accused him of undermining civil liberties. 'When I'm trying to change the law in order to make it easier to deport people who engage in terrorism - the idea that that's an assault on hundreds of years of British civil liberties is completely absurd. Some of what is written on this is loopy-loo in its extremism.'

He could be speaking about America because there is no difference between the accusations of the left from the UK and the accusations from the left here in the U.S.

Perhaps the left should do as the right consistently does and start separating the Moderates who wish to live in peace from the radical extremists that want us dead.

Maybe then we could stop the extremists at the same time as we open our arms and welcome the moderates.

If Americans, as one, do not start taking this threat from extremists seriously and stop worrying about being "politically correct" and start worrying about protecting ourselves as a nation, then the next attack on American soil, WILL be our own fault for encouraging the extremists instead of standing up against them.

The Moderate Muslims have shown the courage to stand up against the radicals that have hijacked their religion, when is America's left going to show that same courage and backbone instead of burying their heads in the sand and claiming there is no threat?

There IS a threat. They want you dead. They want me dead. They want our children dead.

Even Moderate Muslims are telling liberals to stop denying reality:

Radical Islam is a grim reality, despite liberal pretensions to the contrary. Today, FSM Contributing Editor M. Zuhdi Jasser continues his passionate appeal for combating global terror, pointing out the dangerous folly of ignoring the root causes of this growing ideological cancer.

This Muslim also points out that you cannot be politically correct AND fight the Global War on Terror and he makes no bones in telling President Bush this same thing.

Mr. President, as a devout Muslim, I can tell you that the only way the United States can make progress in this war is to have your administration give anti-Islamist Muslims acknowledgement for the centrality of their ideas in this war of ideologies. We can defeat political Islam only if we engage it and marginalize Islamists while positively engaging spiritual Islam. It is time for the administration to set the parameters defining the ideology we are fighting and be critical of organizations which facilitate it. The words of encouragement and admonition to Muslim organizations to lead the charge against radicalism are too vague. The reality is that the priorities, ideologies, and minority politics of the current agenda of the Islamic organizations the administration has courted and which attended last Wednesday’s press conference are far from being on the right page in this conflict.

For example, the central role of the informant has become a cornerstone of our security. The primary informant in the arrest related to the JFK Plot demonstrated this. The Circuit City informant demonstrated the same with his tip leading to the arrests of the Fort Dix Six just weeks ago. The informants and so many others have stepped up in connection with other foiled plots despite the pressures against them from Islamists and the MSM. MSM often feed into conspiracy theories about informants, by legitimizing the victimization of Muslims for being “coerced” as informants. The Denver Post made just such a claim as recently as May 18, 2007. Their report claimed that, “Arab-Americans and Muslims are concerned about FBI efforts to recruit them as informants and other tactics designed to prevent terrorism.” This story was, to no one’s surprise, picked up and widely distributed by the Islamist organizations, e.g. CAIR.

Nothing illustrates the insidious dangers of political Islam (Islamism) more than this type of philosophy regarding informants. Rather than being celebrated as heroes, they are ignored, or subliminally treated as ‘traitors to the tribe’. Sadly, the latest message coming from Islamists is still far from endorsing the heroism of the informant but rather issuing frightening warnings that they may become defendants in a national lawsuit. Just this week, the lawyer for the flying imams, Omar Mohammedi, tried to prevent media access to the trial in his case against US Airways and the “John Does”. This again demonstrates the hypocrisy of the Islamists using the media when they need to be victims but denying freedom of press when they want to camouflage their agenda. The reality is that the informants are our 21st century heroes. Are Muslim organizations working feverishly to create a culture in the mosques and in our organizations of weeding out the bad apples? Or is the allegiance to political Islam greater and more intimidating? These are the questions the President should be asking instead of reiterating the same tired platitudes.

He then speaks to the denial based crowd, yes that means YOU, LIBERALS:

Denial and obfuscation feed the infinite time loop. Conspiracy theories feed the loop. Tribalism with an arrogance masking a collective inferiority complex feeds the loop. Hatred feeds it even more. Put all this together, and the nutritional source must be political Islam. It has no boundaries and seeks governmental domination. Political Islam has no moral courage for it is not based in universal truths of the one God of Abraham separated from the political affairs of this world. It is an ideology which accepts no responsibility for the plight of Muslims while blaming all others. Nations based upon individual freedom and liberty over collectivism and tribalism pose existential threats to the existence of the Islamists. This conflict can no longer be ignored.

Create a pervasive conspiracy mentality. Magnify victimization of the Muslim minority. Try litigation against those who work to defeat political Islam, even if it fails since it will ultimately intimidate. Divide America across religious lines; this will exploit American guilt while allowing political Islam to thrive. Sue the John Does who report suspicious activity. Base it on a claim of racism. Ignore the terror plots broken up by heroes who are or were John Does. It’s all about the theocratic tribe and the long term goals of political Islam and an Islamic state. Use the rules of pluralistic democracy to intimidate those who counter Islamism. Never allow the debate to begin between Muslim anti-Islamists and Islamists.

Read the whole piece and if you are one of those that he speaks of, SHAME ON YOU because you are the ones fascilitating the horrible killings in the name of Allah.

Would you dare call HIM a Muslim hater? A racist?

As long as people like John Edwards denies that there is a Global War on Terror going on, he and others that live in denial like him are encouraging more recruitment and more killing instead of having the courage to stand up and fight it with every breath in their bodies.

Extremism is all around us, as witnessed by honor killings in London as well as here in America.

These examples go on and on and on and yet we still see comments like the ones John Edwards made, "There is no Global War on Terror" or comments about how Jihad extremists are not as much of a threat as the "conservatives" make it out to be.

Denial is a dangerous thing and the Liberals cannot see past their Bush Hatred to see what is right in front of their face.

I quoted Dr. Sanity's blog yesterday which speaks to this denial:

Dr Sanity manages to nail it right on the head and declares those that live in complete denial, INSANE.

I wish I could tell you that the political left in this country was out of its friggin' mind...but I can't, because it is increasingly clear that if you could put all the combined synapses of all the the above bloggers together you would not get a single logical or coherent thought about the war that is being waged against the West by the religion of peace.

These bloggers and many of their readers are on a mission to go where no human has gone before. They are beyond mere denial and delusion; beyond psychosis even. I regularly treat schizophrenics who have more respect for reality.

Then for the best part:

Sadly, they suffer from a totally debilitating disorder: Severe Acquired Leftist Anencephalic Dementia (SALAD). Their minds are simply not there any more! The cognitive dissonance of believing so many bizarre and contradictory fantasies; the mental contortions and fits necessary for them to retain their ideological myths has caused their minds to softly and silently vanish away (that's what happens when the snark is a boojum, you see).

Why do the liberal left of our country keep defending and encouraging these murderers?

More importantly, how can they deny what is right in front of their face?

Conservative Blogs Give Active Democrats Heartburn

Doesn’t it warm you heart to know that the far left is going into apoplexy over the fact that conservative bloggers are trying to keep them honest? Well, keeping them honest is quite an impossible task. But exposing them is a pleasure.

This is a follow-up to my posts concerning how the lefty Netroots and Daily Kos folks and their so-called “Active” Democrats are attempting to take over moderate Democratic local party chairs, web sites etc.

The following was posted on the Wise County Active Democrat’s site at www(dot)wisedems(dot)org/ (No, I won't give these loony lefties free links!)

“How did Brenda Rankin's very distorted take on the March 5 CEC meeting in Parker County end up on the rightwing blog, Faultline USA? And from thence, to be gleefully featured on at least half a dozen rightwing blogs all throughout cyperspace, including the Conservative Index? It makes one wonder...

Perhaps Ms. Rankin would explain how Faultline got hold of her comments... Ms. Rankin?”

Well, Active Dems, perhaps Faultline USA can give you an answer. First, if you have read my articles you will note that Ms. Rankin was not the only moderate Democrat quoted. It would also appear that the moderate Democrats, whose reputations you are trying to destroy by outright lies and total fabrications, have found that the truth will never come out on your pirated web sites. And, by the way, do you have any idea of just how many “members” you actually have who are just lurking so they can read and pass along your “restricted” comments? By the way, why do you keep those comments restricted unless you have something to hide?

Obama Campaign Abusive to Blue Dogs

It's a sign of the times when Blue Dog Democrats have to leak stories to conservative bloggers because their own party has abandoned them.

Wednesday a local Blue Dog Democratic party official was contacted by an Obama campaign worker asking for a donation. The local party official explained her position, and expressed concern that Obama was getting too much of his support from such leftist “grass roots” organizations as Democracy for America and Daily Kos. These organizations have gone out of their way to attack local party members and undermine local parties who don’t support their radical agenda.

The Blue Dog told the campaign worker that she would not support Obama as long as he supports these organizations. At that, the Obama campaign worker became angry and very abusive towards the Blue Dog.

Now you may think that some conservative, like me, just made up this story. But no, it’s a true story. It’s just a little insignificant story, but it’s in the very smallness of this story that the truth of the disintegration of the Democratic Party lays.

Legitimate news sources who wish to vet this story, which is probably being repeated in countless places across this country, may contact us at wakeupamerica(dot)spree(at)gmail(dot)com to facilitate contact with this Blue Dog Democratic party official.

I know that there are some conservatives who say, “So what? Why should we care? Let the Democrats eat their own. It’s better for us.”

Well, I don’t subscribe to that kind of thinking. Blue Dog Democrats are moderates who, for the most part, share many of our traditional American values. They are no more enamored with the left than are we conservatives. They understand the grave dangers the left poses to America’s unity and sovereignty. They are fearful, and with good reason, that the entire Democratic party will soon be completely controlled by the far radical left.

There are those running for office today that would sell their own souls, and would throw their own mothers from the bus, just to gain one more vote. They pander to dangerous anti-American radicals, hire foul-mouthed lying gutter snipes, and have no real concern about the future unity of this country. Nothing is beneath them in their quest for office. Some will succeed in gaining office, but they will never be American Patriots.

Wouldn’t this country be much better off if we had two not so polarized parties that could actually reason and negotiate with one another so that the work of congress would be more than a series of political shams and witch hunts? Don’t we Americans deserve more from congress?

Partisanship should never replace our loyalty to America and to our fellow loyal Americans.

Here’s an important quote about the dangers of political parties from a pretty smart fellow, an American Patriot, who had a remarkable insight into the future . . .

However combinations or associations of the above description may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely, in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people, and to usurp for themselves the reins of government; destroying afterwards the very engines, which have lifted them to unjust dominion. . .
