The War Heats Inside the Democratic Party

According to Michael van der Galien of The Moderate Voice

There is something strange going on in the progressive blogosphere these days: instead of uniting against Republicans, progressive bloggers like Matt Stoller have decided to declare war on every Democrat who they consider not to be progressive (read anti-war) enough. . . .

Now they are admitting to what we’ve been saying all along! The following are articles Faultline USA posted earlier this year:

The Active Democrats Revolution . . . The key words “Active Democrat” are showing up in more and more new Political Action Committee names. The words are deliberately designed to link radical activists to the left-leaning P.A.C. that will represent their interests. . .

Extreme Left Hijacking Local Democratic Party Chairs . . . In the following days I will share with our readers actual examples (including names, dates, and places), of how the extreme left is actively hijacking local Democratic party executive committees and local chairs. . .
Democratic Left Cloaked in Religion and Patriotism . . . This is a continuation from yesterday’s introductory article, Extreme Left Hijacking Local Democratic Party Chairs. . .A well-orchestrated national strategy by the far left . . .

Obama Campaign Abusive to Blue Dogs . . . It's a sign of the times when Blue Dog Democrats have to leak stories to conservative bloggers because their own party has abandoned them. . .

Conservative Blogs Give Active Democrats Heartburn . . . Doesn’t it warm you heart to know that the far left is going into apoplexy over the fact that conservative bloggers are trying to keep them honest? Well, keeping them honest is quite an impossible task. But exposing them is a pleasure . . .

Will the Blue Dogs Vote with GOP? . . Starting with the left, Contentewire seems to think this is all some elaborate conspiracy between Blue Dog Democrats and Moderate Republicans . . .

Michael van der Galien continues:

. . .Seemingly frustrated that there are actually Democratic Congressmen that do not necessarily always vote along party lines - but make up their own minds - they have decided to ask their readers to make profiles of so-called “Bush Dogs” (Blue Dogs and New Democrats) as to be able to target them in the coming years, and to replace them with progressive, left-wing Republicans.

An example of a so-called Bush Dog they are targeting is Brian Baird. Baird opposed the war against Iraq from the get-go but believes that since the US went ahead and attacked anyway, it should persist and be successful. He believes that the surge might be paying off, at least to a degree, and that - therefore - the troops should not be withdrawn soon. So, Open Left and Daily Kos have decided to target Blair - they are writing negative posts about him, etc.
Of course, Baird is not the only victim. Once one pays attention to what is happening, one also sees that they are targeting
Hillary Clinton. Obviously not to replace her, but instead to make sure that she does not win the nomination. Besides attacking Hillary straight on, the left-wingers of the Daily Kos, Open Left and MyDD, also seem to have declared Bill Clinton their enemy. Their new best buddy? Al Franken.

Castro may or may not be Dead – Again

Will the Blue Dogs Vote with Gop?

Cross Posted from Wake up America

As usual, I get up and read the news, then when I find something that interests me, I start looking for verification, more links, basically anything associated with the news item that interested me in the first place.

Today took a strange turn.

I opened memeorandum to find multiple stories on the GOP's meeting with the President, headlines like War Support starting to crumble, Bush meets with wavering Republicans, etc.... then from the strangest source, a far left liberal blog, no less, I see this headline "BREAKING: Conservative Dems expected to vote with GOP to give Bush unfettered blank check on Iraq tomorrow ".....

HUH????

So, even knowing it was a far left liberal blog, or perhaps because of it, I just had to click to see where the joke was, but John, the writer was serious.

It's time to replace some conservative Democrats in Washington, DC. I just heard from an impeccable source that there is serious concern on the Hill that conservative Democrats in the House will vote with the Republicans to strip any and all restrictions from the Iraq supplemental tomorrow, effectively giving Bush all the money he wants with no restrictions and no effort to hold either him or the Iraq government accountable for anything. I.e., they will vote to continue this war along the same disastrous course because they're too afraid to challenge George Bush and his failed leadership.

Let me reiterate: This isn't some idle rumor. The concerns are coming from Hill sources themselves.

Yes, while the Republican leaders of the House and Senate are publicly claiming that they won't give Bush a blank check, they're maneuvering behind the scenes to do just that. And while Republican members of Congress are supposedly laying down the law for Bush in private meetings, on the House floor they're going to give Bush everything he wants and needs to continue the war indefinitely.

Now, I am still waiting to see what actually happens, but I remember right after the 2006 elections, saying here on this blog, that the Democrats were going to have a difficult time with the Blue Dog Democrats, is this what is happening? Even more recently I outlined some major differences between the Blue Dog Democrats and the Yellow Democrats.

Are the Blue Dogs tired of being seen as weak on National Security? Are the Blue Dogs tired of being linked with the Out of Iraq Caucus that keeps trying to surrender? Are the Blue Dogs worried about the progress that has been seen coming out of Iraq and how it would make them look if they continue to back the retreat in defeat bills? Are the Blue Dogs simply doing what they think is best or is all of this some misunderstanding from AmericaBlog?

Is it just possible that the Blue Dog's supporters made their voices heard after the last fiasco with the vetoed supplemental bill, letting them know they didn't vote for them to "rubber stamp" Pelosi's insanity and they would not vote them in again if they continued to do so?

So, after these questions popped into my head, I started hunting (Gotta love search engines).

Like I said, I am reserving judgement on how true these stories are, but there are some interesting reactions.

Starting with the left, Contentewire seems to think this is all some elaborate conspiracy between Blue Dog Democrats and Moderate Republicans and that all the news stories about this GOP meeting with the President is all a part of this conspiracy to betray Pelosi. (A little Twilight Zone music here)

So my scenario is that the Blue Dogs and the Moderate Republicans are working together to betray Pelosi.

Cramer said “Show me something” to the Republicans, and the kabuki drama in the Solarium Room yesterday was their very public response.

And now it’s up to the Blue Dogs to show the Republicans something. That would come with the votes on the supplemental.

Then Talk Left actually includes Rove into the possible conspiracy theory:

If this is true, I hope that there will be a revolt in the Democratic Party. The crappy House Supplemental had 218 votes. A number of Blue Dogs voted against it, including Marshall, Barrow and others. Who else is going to break?

Do you think maybe Rove knew this when he allowed the "moderate" Republicans top leak their meeting with Bush? To cover for yet another rubberstamping of Mr. 28%?

Work For Change also weighs in:

We will see today just how far these Blank Check Democrats are willing to go in undermining their own party and the will of the American public. But we will also see just how far Democratic leaders are willing to go in making their anti-war rhetoric legislative reality. Because remember - these fights do not happen in a vacuum, as much as the Washington pundit class would like us to believe they do. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and senior Democrats have many levers of power at their disposal, including committee assignments and re-election fundraising and support for primary challengers. Whether Pelosi uses these levers - and whether rank-and-file Democrats demand she uses these levers - will tell us a lot not only about the Democratic Party's commitment to ending the war, but about it's commitment to all the other promises America was given in exchange for its votes in 2006.

That one in particular amused me because that was exactly what Pelosi tried to do with the Murtha/Hoyer vote and she got her ass handed to her by her own caucus.

That alone should have taught people like Work for Change that threatening the Blue Dog Democrats will, indeed, backfire, yet they suggest doing the same thing and expect a different result?

I told you things get weirder and weirder.....

From the right, we have Strata-Sphere that thinks the Blue Dogs are trying to detach themselves from the Out of Iraq Caucus, fast.

Why do you think moderate/conservative Dems are shifting abruptly? As I have been posting for a month now, watch Diyala Province. The SurrenderMedia screwed the Surrendercrats big time by NOT publicizing the successes of Anbar Province. Outside of a few of us bloggers paying close attention, the public is blissfully unaware of the situation there. And with Diyala shifting to the same model as Anbar, the public can now be presented with story after story of successful progress. The SurrenderMedia sat on the news, letting it build up energy for the impact when it breaks. We will be going from “the war is lost” to ” amazing progress is made in the stronghold of al Qaeda in Iraq”….

If I was a moderate I would run for the hills too!

Good point there because those of us that actually DO read the news releases showing us the progress that is being made, the letters/emails from our ground troops telling us of the successes they are seeing, it is quite possible the Blue Dogs are the one group of Democrats not willing to ignore anything they don't agree with, but actually do consider the conditions on the ground while making their choices on what to vote for instead of just blindly opposing anything Bush proposes.

I guess we wait to see how the vote turns out and the roll call of who voted for what, but all of this seems very strange.

Expect updates.

Conservative Blogs Give Active Democrats Heartburn

Doesn’t it warm you heart to know that the far left is going into apoplexy over the fact that conservative bloggers are trying to keep them honest? Well, keeping them honest is quite an impossible task. But exposing them is a pleasure.

This is a follow-up to my posts concerning how the lefty Netroots and Daily Kos folks and their so-called “Active” Democrats are attempting to take over moderate Democratic local party chairs, web sites etc.

The following was posted on the Wise County Active Democrat’s site at www(dot)wisedems(dot)org/ (No, I won't give these loony lefties free links!)

“How did Brenda Rankin's very distorted take on the March 5 CEC meeting in Parker County end up on the rightwing blog, Faultline USA? And from thence, to be gleefully featured on at least half a dozen rightwing blogs all throughout cyperspace, including the Conservative Index? It makes one wonder...

Perhaps Ms. Rankin would explain how Faultline got hold of her comments... Ms. Rankin?”

Well, Active Dems, perhaps Faultline USA can give you an answer. First, if you have read my articles you will note that Ms. Rankin was not the only moderate Democrat quoted. It would also appear that the moderate Democrats, whose reputations you are trying to destroy by outright lies and total fabrications, have found that the truth will never come out on your pirated web sites. And, by the way, do you have any idea of just how many “members” you actually have who are just lurking so they can read and pass along your “restricted” comments? By the way, why do you keep those comments restricted unless you have something to hide?

Here’s a hat tip to Conservative Index for keeping the story alive!

Obama Campaign Abusive to Blue Dogs

It's a sign of the times when Blue Dog Democrats have to leak stories to conservative bloggers because their own party has abandoned them.

Wednesday a local Blue Dog Democratic party official was contacted by an Obama campaign worker asking for a donation. The local party official explained her position, and expressed concern that Obama was getting too much of his support from such leftist “grass roots” organizations as Democracy for America and Daily Kos. These organizations have gone out of their way to attack local party members and undermine local parties who don’t support their radical agenda.

The Blue Dog told the campaign worker that she would not support Obama as long as he supports these organizations. At that, the Obama campaign worker became angry and very abusive towards the Blue Dog.

Now you may think that some conservative, like me, just made up this story. But no, it’s a true story. It’s just a little insignificant story, but it’s in the very smallness of this story that the truth of the disintegration of the Democratic Party lays.

Legitimate news sources who wish to vet this story, which is probably being repeated in countless places across this country, may contact us at wakeupamerica(dot)spree(at)gmail(dot)com to facilitate contact with this Blue Dog Democratic party official.

I know that there are some conservatives who say, “So what? Why should we care? Let the Democrats eat their own. It’s better for us.”

Well, I don’t subscribe to that kind of thinking. Blue Dog Democrats are moderates who, for the most part, share many of our traditional American values. They are no more enamored with the left than are we conservatives. They understand the grave dangers the left poses to America’s unity and sovereignty. They are fearful, and with good reason, that the entire Democratic party will soon be completely controlled by the far radical left.

There are those running for office today that would sell their own souls, and would throw their own mothers from the bus, just to gain one more vote. They pander to dangerous anti-American radicals, hire foul-mouthed lying gutter snipes, and have no real concern about the future unity of this country. Nothing is beneath them in their quest for office. Some will succeed in gaining office, but they will never be American Patriots.

Wouldn’t this country be much better off if we had two not so polarized parties that could actually reason and negotiate with one another so that the work of congress would be more than a series of political shams and witch hunts? Don’t we Americans deserve more from congress?

Partisanship should never replace our loyalty to America and to our fellow loyal Americans.

Here’s an important quote about the dangers of political parties from a pretty smart fellow, an American Patriot, who had a remarkable insight into the future . . .

. . .All obstructions to the execution of the Laws, all combinations and associations, under whatever plausible character, with the real design to direct, control, counteract, or awe the regular deliberation and action of the constituted authorities, are destructive of this fundamental principle, and of fatal tendency. They [political parties] serve to organize faction, to give it an artificial and extraordinary force; to put, in the place of the delegated will of the nation, the will of a party, often a small but artful and enterprising minority of the community; and, according to the alternate triumphs of different parties, to make the public administration the mirror of the ill-concerted and incongruous projects of faction, rather than the organ of consistent and wholesome plans digested by common counsels, and modified by mutual interests.

However combinations or associations of the above description may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely, in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people, and to usurp for themselves the reins of government; destroying afterwards the very engines, which have lifted them to unjust dominion. . .

Democratic Left Cloaked in Religion and Patriotism

This is a continuation from yesterday’s introductory article, Extreme Left Hijacking Local Democratic Party Chairs.

A well-orchestrated national strategy by the far left . . .

If you haven’t yet read yesterday’s article, please do so and be sure to read the comments. It appears that this tactic is widespread – perhaps even used in the Republican party. There was a good comment left on yesterday’s article that I’d like to respond to here.

“Wouldn't this be a good thing for the Republicans? This splintering of the Dems?”

I couldn’t say if in the long run it’s good for the Republicans. I believe, however, that any process that succeeds in subverting the democratic process hurts America. We cannot afford to sit back and watch the Marxist left simply take over any more of our institutions. Congress is already so polarized that little gets done.

Today I will present examples from two adjacent Texas counties: Parker County and Wise County. To avoid any confusion between organizations mentioned below, please note that those organizations or PACs which have included in their names or descriptions the words “Active,” or “Reformers,” or “TRUE Democrats,” or “grassroots activists,” are representing the extreme “Populist Progressive” left.

This is an excerpt from a March 10, 2007 e-mail from the Wise County Texas Democratic Party Chair, Brenda Rankin, regarding the attempted take over of both the Parker County and Wise County Democratic Party by the far left. The letter was sent by Ms. Rankin to the Texas County Chairs. Ms. Rankin asked that her e-mail be circulated. Ms. Rankin attended the “illegal” Parker County meeting.

Dear Fellow County Chairs,
Is the hi-jacking of the Parker County Democratic Party executive committee meeting, March 5, 2007, by Don Young, Parker County Active Democrats President, and five other Precinct chairs (members of the Parker County Active Democrats), supported by Parker County Active Democrats members, Wise County Active Democrats and Tarrant County “reformers, TRUE Democrats or grassroots activists”, a first attempt of an organized effort or example on how self proclaimed “Populist Progressives” can “take over” targeted local parties? County Chair Dick Yoder, the presiding officer of the County Executive Committee, was not allowed to preside over the meeting called by written demand of one-fourth of the members. Don Young, precinct chair and President of the Parker County Active Democrats presided over the meeting making it illegal and all actions taken null and void. . . .
(continued excerpts from this letter are at the end of this post)

The following is an excellent summary of that illegal March 5th Parker County meeting written by Harold W. Lawrence, President of Organization of Parker County Democrats (OPCD). OPCD is a PAC affiliated with the Parker County Democratic Party. PCAD, on the other hand, is the Parker County Active Democrats which is attempting to take over the Parker County Democratic Party. Bold highlights have been added by me.

Cloaked in religion and patriotism, the announced called meeting of the Democratic Party County Executive Committee tried to meet at the 20th Century Club building on South Main Street in Weatherford at 7 p.m. March 5, 2007. The meeting had been properly requested by written demand with the required number of Parker County Democratic precinct chairs and was called by Precinct Chairs Darwin Yeary, Jolanta Little, Geneva Carter, James Parris, Don Young and Francine Carter.

The “cloak” of religion and patriotism came from the back of the room when Darwin Yeary (he did not identify himself) rose to the microphone and began to pray, asking the Lord’s blessing on the meeting and ended with a pledge of allegiance to the flag. Then all hell broke loose and anarchy prevailed—the cloak was thrown aside; the monster emerged.

Following a rumor circulating in the room that the County Chair would not be allowed to chair the CEC meeting, Freda Burks, President of the Springtown Area Democratic Women, approached the lectern where three rather solemn men armed with determination stood. Holding a copy of the meetings format published by the Democratic Party of Texas, Ms. Burks pointed out that Dick Yoder was the legally designated chair of the meeting. What followed was a disputation between the men. Don Young, President of the Parker County Active Democrats and one of the current precinct chairs, and Carmon Carter, Vice President of PCAD, responded with the statement that they called the meeting, they paid for the meeting, and they were going to run the meeting. When faced again with the waving of the rule book, their response was this is a local issue and state rules don’t apply. At this point Dick Yoder announced “this is an illegal meeting,” and he left the room followed by most of the precinct chairs and a substantial number of the audience there to observe. Remaining in the room were members of PCAD and guests from out of county. More precinct chairs left than remained, and by no means was there the required number of precinct chairs remaining to constitute a quorum for electing precinct chairs.

Don Young was heard to say, “What do we do now? We don’t have a quorum.” Carmon Carter replied, “we’ll just go on with the meeting.”

Those walking out the door met face to face with Hal Ray, SDEC Committeeman of Dist 30, who was about to enter the building. He stopped short before entering the building and remained in the parking lot with those who walked.

And go on with the meeting they did. Helen Parks read the minutes of the previous CEC meeting and reported that Jolanta Little offered involved corrections to the minutes which those in the room voted to affirm. Ms. Little was subsequently elected secretary of the CEC. According to a blog posted on the internet the next day, those precinct chairs remaining in the room elected 16 precinct chairs, a treasurer, and resolved to hire a CPA to audit the accounts of the Parker County Democratic Chair.

Meanwhile outside of the meeting, Brian Pendleton from the State Democratic Party office in Austin arrived to observe the meeting. When he found Dick Yoder and others in the parking lot and learned of what was going on, his immediate response was to call Ken Bailey, legal counsel for the state Democratic Party, who confirmed that the meeting that was taking place was in fact an illegal meeting.

The ploy of having everyone sign a roster upon entering the building was apparently designed to provide proof that there was the necessary quorum to conduct legal business in the name of the party. Most of those who left the meeting, however, crossed their name off the list upon leaving. No more than seven or eight legitimate precinct chairs (including Jimmy Kayes and Helen Parks remained inside for the meeting that took place.) Both of them left without voting, according to them. Dick Yoder and those who walked, walked before any meeting was called to order by anyone.

Following the meeting, there were proposals for mediating the differences and resolving the conflict laid bare in the course of the evening. My name was mentioned as one who should be a principal in the mediation process. Let me state clearly: I am not a precinct chair and therefore was at the meeting only as an observer. Furthermore, as President of the Organization of Parker County Democrats I have pledged to support the Democratic Party of Parker County and Dick Yoder as the duly elected Democratic Chairman of Parker County has my full support in this matter. The actions of Don Young, Carmon Carter and their supporters on these issues were not pious nor patriotic, nor democratic, nor legal; they are reprehensible.

The following is the continued excerpt from the Wise County Chair, Brenda Rankin’s e-mail, referencing the leftist agitators at the February 20, 2007 Executive Committee meeting of the Wise County Democrats. Note that the reference to “blogging” is about Sharon Wilson’s (TXSharon) multiple blogs on Texas Kaos, the Daily Kos, and other leftist blogging diary sites such as MyDD.

At the February 20, 2007 Executive Committee meeting in Wise County, a group of the Wise County Active Democrats, were called out of order many times during the meeting, during the time Chairman Boyd Richie spoke and answered questions. When the meeting adjourned, Sharon Wilson, screamed “If this is what you want, I will keep blogging. You will have to KILL me to stop me from blogging.” She screamed and shouted outside the private dining room inside K-Bob’s restaurant at Brian Pendelton and Mark York, the Wise County Democratic Party V. Chair. Wise County Active Democrats were present at the meeting to actively support the hi-jacking of the meeting and were allowed to speak without being called out of order as was done to Freda Burke, a duly elected precinct chair. There is something wrong when outside political grassroots activists (Sharon Wilson and Traci Smith) are allowed to speak but a duly elected official (Freda Burks) was denied a right to speak. It is called “anarchy”. . .

Here Ms. Rankin continues discussing the “illegal” Parker County meeting.

It is not only unbelievable but it is unthinkable that a group of Democrats blame their elected County Chair and elected precinct chairs for being the Party out of office in their county and their state. It is unbelievable that a group would be so obsessed with being precinct chairs but fail to file to run for precinct chair. It is unbelievable that Don Young would contact the TDP demanding Dick Yoder be removed from office, but not file to run for County Chair. It is unbelievable that people who have reached maturity enough to understand the “ballot box” is where we elect our leaders; not by hi-jacking a meeting and “take over” a Party. It is unbelievable that “herd mentality” would not respect the voter’s choice made in the March 7, 2006 primary that Dick Yoder, not Don Young, is the presiding officer of the ruling body of the Parker County Democratic Party. It is unbelievable the group thought their actions would stand or the sixteen precinct chairs illegally elected by only one quarter of the CEC is the democratic process. Parker County Democratic Party led by Dick Yoder and the majority of the precinct chairs protest of the meeting was an act of courage and a defining moment because Don Young and the other five precinct chairs in the meeting failed to carry out their duties and responsibilities to the Democratic Party. The only Party who wins by hi-jacking a meeting and not honoring the “ballot box” is the opposing Party in the county. That Party is the Parker County Republican Party and their favorite representative Phil King (also know as Tom Delay’s water boy).

The Texas Democratic Party will not let this action stand and must do more to support the local Democratic Party and elected County Chairs and precinct chairs from grassroots activists who have gotten completely out of control. I’m calling on you as a leader in our Party to support us in Parker County, Wise County and other counties where the County Chair is under attack by activists “reformers” who will follow the example set by Don Young and Sharon Wilson in Parker and Wise County.

If you become aware of similar situations where you live please go public and share that information.

Extreme Left Hijacking Local Democratic Party Chairs

A well-orchestrated national strategy by the far left . . .

In the following days I will share with our readers actual examples (including names, dates, and places), of how the extreme left is actively hijacking local Democratic party executive committees and local chairs.

Today, as an introduction, I’m republishing an article I posted on November 7, 2006

Democrats Attacked from Within

The following account is most likely playing out across the country – especially in small rural communities. My source has asked me to keep silent until after the elections are over. Tomorrow I will reveal more of this story. But for now, suffice it to say that activists Democrats are quietly taking over the party and silently eliminating duly elected local party chairs by very unscrupulous and possibly illegal means.

Here’s how it works. . . Much of rural America is still operating by 20th century standards and that includes how the Democratic Party communicates in rural areas. Many party chairs are not too internet savvy. Usually information is still shared with party members by newsletters sent via snail mail. Many local parties in rural areas don’t even have a web page.

In comes a new party volunteer that offers to help get the local party online with a new web site. The local party is delighted. Donations come in, money is spent finding a good web site developer, and the local party web site goes online.

The helpful new volunteer offers to act as web administrator. The country chair is delighted. But little by little, the new web administrator takes more and more liberties and begins to publish “news articles” that are filled with questionable inflammatory opinions. The party chair asks the new volunteer to cease these activities. But the new volunteer refuses. Then the party chair is forced to remove the new volunteer as web administrator.

That doesn’t stop the new volunteer. After all, the new volunteer is part of a larger group of well-connected newcomers to the community that have already made plans to take over the local party. The volunteer begins to hack into the web site. Eventually the party chair is forced to take the web site down. A month later, a new web site shows up – almost an exact duplicate of the official party web site. The only difference is the name of the web site which now has “Active” as part of its title. For example: Dufus County Democrats becomes Dufus County Active Democrats. Oh yes, and the name of the party chair is missing from the new “Active” web site. The assumption is that few new visitors to the web site will even bother to think about the fact that there is a duly elected party chair.

The new “Active” party web site asks for donations. In one case that I know of the new “Active” party actually did take the time to register as a P.A.C. and that can be verified by the State Ethics Commission. In another case, the new “club” is seeking donations without even bothering to register as a P.A.C.

The official party chair turns to the state chair and the DNC, as-well-as to the candidates seeking assistance, but no help comes. There’s lots of sympathy and offers to look into it after the election. The conspiracy of silence even extends to the wronged party chairs because no one wants to rock the boat prior to the elections. Many Democrats are still in denial but some party chairs now realize, all too well, that this take-over effort is a well orchestrated national strategy by the far far left. Share this information with an unfortunate moderate Democratic party chair who is probably already a target and may soon wake up to find out that he or she has simply been cut out of the party without so much as a local party election!!! So much for leftist style democracy!!!

The Active Democrats Revolution

Last week I wrote Democrats Attacked from Within. This is a follow up to that article.

Today I’m asking: Who are these “Active Democrats”? Common sense might tell you that they are the folks who help raise big money for candidates. They will tell you that they are the “people;” the lowly activist workers – the ones who knock on doors and actively canvass for their party. Both ideas are completely true. But “Active Democrats” are much more than that.

The key words “Active Democrat” are showing up in more and more new Political Action Committee names. The words are deliberately designed to link radical activists to the left-leaning P.A.C. that will represent their interests. Often the only difference between the existing local party name and the active P.A.C. name is the lone word “Active”. If the word “Active” isn’t included in the P.A.C. name, then it is used repeatedly in just about every communication.

The Active intent is three-fold. (1) They want to attract new members to the Democratic Party without raising the eyebrows of the sleepy 21st Century challenged centrists, and (2) they want to attract the left kind of member, and (3) they want to gradually take over the functions of the existing local party by appearing, on the surface, to be the official local party organization.

Although the Actives won’t openly admit this, they are linked to Democracy for America, the far left leaning organization founded by Howard Dean’s brother. Democracy for America provides these Actives training in how to “kidnap” a local party. Actives also see themselves as aligned with the Young Democrats of America , and they communicate through networking dominance of the blogosphere in sites such as MySpace.com, Facebook.com, the far, far left DailyKos, Mydd.com , and leftyblogs.com .

President Jimmy Carter’s eldest son told those attending a Young Democrats of America conference that if they would use MySpace.com, Democrats would win in 2006. Apparently he was right.

"If you and your MySpace friends get five people apiece ... Democrats will win in 2006," he said.

Since 2004 left-leaning candidates and their "Active" supporters have been using the networking potential of Meetup , a meeting-planning service. Recently The Democratic Party has revealed a new social networking tool – PartyBuilder . Anyone who joins can “Roll Your Own Political Network.” This site is geered to a wider “adult” level of Actives. A registered user with PartyBuilder can find other active Democrats in a particular geographic area via a ZIP code search. It has been reported that PartyBuilder attracted almost 10,000 registered users in its first week, and that the number of political networks are growing exponentially!!!

Is it time that traditionalists, conservatives, moderates and centrists, the Blue Dogs etc., just roll over, play dead, and give up??? No - Not on our collective lives!!! American political parties need to rediscover America’s majority center – the heart, mind, and soul of America. That’s us folks! And we must be dedicated to taking back America from the special interests dominating both far, far left and far, far right!!!

There’s no sense in reinventing the wheel. The tools are already there and we all need to take advantage of how the left has led the social networking dominance of the internet in 2006 well before 2008!!! We must use 21st century tools today!!!

For more details about this revolution, I recommend that you read two overview articles: The New Breed of Democrat Part One, And Part Two, which describes the typical tactics of the new breed “Active Democrats.”
