Forward No More…..

By: J Robert Giles

“Leadership is about taking responsibility, not making excuses.”  - Mitt Romney

Flag

Isn’t it amazing how often the Obama Administration / Campaign tells us to ignore something as soon as the public starts to question their stance? Are you as sick of it as I am? Isn’t it mystifying how often Obama does something “heroic” in the hours prior to a potential ass-whooping?

This week, ahead of tonight’s debate, we’re being told that the deaths of four Americans in Benghazi is only an issue because Mitt Romney is making it one. Seriously, that’s the line being taken by the President of the United States. How many of you would have gotten away with such foolishness with your parents when you were kids? How many of you would have been permitted to stand there, look your father in the eye, and spew such nonsense?

Imagine if you and your friends had burned down a significant portion of the woods behind your family homes when you decided it would be a wise idea to light firecrackers in the hollowed trunk of a dead tree. (Again…..I’m sorry, Mom!) Imagine if you had come up with some story that blamed someone other than yourself and upon being caught in your lie, you claim that the fire is only an issue because the people you blamed are making it one. I believe my parents would have spent several nights crafting a sadistically creative and life-changing punishment for me!

That’s exactly what Barack Obama is doing right now. It’s been over a month since the attacks and just this week, in the days and hours preceding a debate in which a defeat would most likely leave him in need of a new home, Obama says he is “considering” sending in Special Forces to retaliate. Take a look at the facts for a few minutes. The timeline of events, as given under sworn Congressional testimony, simply doesn’t satisfy Obama’s claims.

In April of 2011, Christopher Stevens arrived in Benghazi. His mission was simple in its underlying theory but more difficult than anyone in the administration would admit in its implementation. Stevens was sent there to forge alliances with the rebel forces battling Ghadafi. Those forces won and as we all know, Ghadafi was removed from power after 40 years of rule. A “Commander” in Chief would have understood the dangers such an event would pose to a US Ambassador in the region. A “Commander” in Chief would have secured his assets against inevitable threats. Unfortunately, we have a “Campaigner” in Chief.

In March of 2012, Eric Nordstrom, the State Department Regional Security Officer sent a cable to his superiors in Washington. In this cable, Nordstrom requested additional diplomatic security forces in Benghazi. He received NO response. In July, he repeated his actions and received the same result. First, those who say “well, why didn’t he try another method of communication” have never worked within the strict yet necessary confines of an established chain of command. Why would Nordstrom lie? What would he have to gain by speaking out against his superiors? He’s risking his career by speaking out. What is Obama risking if Nordstrom’s version is the truth? He’s risking his Presidency. Now I ask you. Who has more motive to lie? Who has more history of creating scenarios which later turn out to be “seasonally adjusted?”

On April 6, 2012 two Libyan guards who had recently been fired threw an improvised explosive device (IED) over the fence of the consulate. That’s just six months prior to the attack on 9/11. Again, a bomb was thrown over the fence of the consulate and no additional security was provided. Two requests sent, that we know of, yet no additional security provided.

On May 22, 2012 a Facebook post by Islamic extremists in the region states “now we are preparing a message for the Americans.” The message is posted just hours after an attack on the Red Cross facility in Benghazi.

On June 6th, a hole is blown in the north gate of the embassy compound. The damage is ominously described by a witness as being “big enough for forty men to run through.” No arrests, no additional security. Later in the month, another Facebook post by increasingly bold Islamic extremists outlines the daily travel routine of US Ambassador Christopher Stevens. He was being watched and the ones performing the surveillance were so emboldened that they posted their research online. Their “street cred” was propelled, our reputation was weakened, and no additional security was provided.

Now, all of this has happened and guess what happened in July…..the stupid video everyone on the left seems to believe was the root cause of all the “bumps in the road” was posted to YouTube. That’s right. A bomb thrown over the fence. An explosion rips a gaping ENTRY into the north wall of OUR embassy. Surveillance of OUR Ambassador is brazenly posted online and all of this occurred prior to the release of the apology generating film.

On August 14th, State Security Team led by Lieutenant Colonel Andy Wood is ordered out of Benghazi. According to sworn testimony, Ambassador Stevens begged Wood to stay. He was fearful. He felt as if he was living on “borrowed time.”Not only was no additional security provided; but the little bit that was already in place was reduced. Interestingly, Hazard Pay to those working in the region was increased. Why would they have increased hazard pay if there was no threat? Why would the State Department have acknowledged an increased level of hazard in paychecks but not in protection?

On September 8, 2012, the Libyan militia tasked with protecting the consulate warns that the security situation is “frightening.” Family members reportedly warned them of imminent attacks. No fewer than 48 hours notice given, yet nothing was done to secure the facility, the personnel, or the highly sensitive information and files kept inside the consulate. The warnings did not fit the narrative and were immediately dismissed. Any other description or account is simply false.

On September 10, 2012, al Qaeda leader Ayman al Zawahiri calls on Islamic Libyans to avenge the death of his Libyan Deputy, Abu Yahya al Libi who was killed in Pakistan in June by a US drone strike. The day before the anniversary of al Qaeda’s biggest victory over the United States a threat of this nature is made and yet we are told that there was “no actionable intelligence” to suggest that an attack was forthcoming.

HEY, UNDECIDED VOTER…..ARE YOU AS STUPID AS THEY THINK YOU ARE?

On September 11th, after protesters in Cairo storm the embassy and replace the United States flag with the colors of al Qaeda, Mitt Romney released a response to the Obama Administration’s apology. In a quickly retracted statement, Clinton stated that the attack in Libya was the result of “inflammatory material posted on the internet.” Mitt Romney was right, folks. Now he’s being condemned for saying then what the administration is saying today.

He was right and it goes against the narrative we have all been spoon fed over the last four years. Obama has led us to believe that the spread of democracy in countries where dictators and extremist rule have been removed is spreading to adoring citizens who praise the efforts of His Barackness…..the great uniter. The fact is that Barack Obama did nothing more than set up a couple of campaign talking points in the middle east.

The United States is no stronger today than we were under Jimmy Carter. The comparisons are undeniable and the response of this administration is more political staging. They blame Romney for politicizing their mistakes as if Romney is not allowed to do so. Did they think he would just lie down and give them another four years?

Questions are going to have to be answered. For four years, Barack Hussein Obama has controlled the narrative. He has controlled the audiences to which he pitches his nonsense and he has controlled the questions that were asked of him. No more. That stops now because quite frankly, the teleprompter dependant buffoon owes it to the country he has failed to lead.

Obama’s entire Presidency has been centered on winning another one. His actions have all been aimed at future speeches in which he could take unearned credit for actions that either weren’t his idea or simply didn’t happen in the manner described. Labor numbers are consistently “erroneous.” (Last week, the day of the VP debate, labor dropped below 8% for the first time in Obama’s presidency. The next day, we learned they forgot to include unemployment numbers for CALIFORNIA!!! Does anyone believe that was a coincidence?)

No matter what is said in the debate tonight; no matter what the polls may say tomorrow…..Obama is simply not the leader this country needs. Forced control is not the same thing as leadership. Avoiding tough questions and criticism is not the same thing as strength. Popularity is not the same thing as success. Charm and celebrity friendships are not the same thing as “presidential.” A loyal media is not the same thing as freedom. 23 million people out of work is not the same thing as recovery. Weakened global reputation is not the same thing as progress.

The charm and promises fooled you in 2008. This time, there is a substantial record of failure to consider before casting your vote. There is a record of dishonesty that must be factored into voting decisions and that record falls entirely on the shoulders of the man with the little (D).

Don’t be controlled. There’s a reason it’s becoming popular to jump off the Obama ship. It’s sinking, folks! Obama, with a smug smile sprawled across his face, is literally praying that you are as dumb as he needs you to be. Resist. Educate. VOTE!!

As always, thanks for playing!

Clear the Blockage…..

By: J Robert Giles

mittromneyhappybike-600x399

How many of you have seen Shawshank Redemption? Despite the personally liberal leanings of Tim Robbins, his portrayal of Andy Dufresne in that film has kept it in many top ten lists for years.

In the film, Dufresne is convicted of murdering his wife and her lover after catching them in the throes of passion. He’s a gentle man who clearly doesn’t fit the stereotypical definition of an inmate. Throughout the movie, and throughout Andy’s time inside the cold, stone walls of the prison known as Shawshank, he survives horrific acts with only the “hope” of redemption providing sustenance. “Hope” as defined by Morgan Freeman’s character, Red, is a dangerous thing in a prison but Andy refuses to let go. He is dogged in his determination and steadfast in his resolve. He was innocent. He was good. He would withstand whatever was thrown at him for the chance to one day set foot on the beaches of Zihuatanejo, Mexico…..”a warm place with no memory.”

If you haven’t seen the movie, I highly recommend it. If you have seen it, then surely you will agree that Mitt Romney has tunneled through the wall behind the strategically placed poster of Raquel Welch, or “Fuzzy Britches” as the warden so eloquently put it. Romney is tucked away, inside the walls of the prison. He is synchronizing his patiently measured strikes with the crashes of thunder from the violent storm outside. He’s within a few desperate strikes, using whatever is at his disposal, praying against all odds to complete a carefully conceived plan that has spanned the course of his detractor’s time in his life.

Can a better comparison be drawn than that of Barack Hussein Obama to the “river of filth” through which Andy Dufresne had to crawl in order to finally taste freedom? Andy Dufresne made the most of the world around him. He didn’t accept his fate as determined by the state, or the sociopathic guards, or a sadistic warden, or any other outside sources. He smiled in the knowledge that his faith would see him through to brighter days. The same can be said of Mitt Romney.

Everywhere Mitt Romney has gone in his life, he has delivered success. He has left a trail of people who are genuinely moved by having crossed paths with Mitt Romney. The man doesn’t brag. The man doesn’t toot his own horn. He would never have gone before the nation and taken credit for the bravery of other men. That’s simply not who he is.

What some people see as “smugness” is not that at all. Mitt Romney is not a smug man. He is a faithful man. There’s a HUGE difference and I truly believe what we witnessed last night was the gentle wisdom of Mitt Romney starting to take hold in Paul Ryan. Romney’s gentle nature won’t permit the kind of pummeling we all want to see him deliver. His faith in doing things the right way, not the popular way, is what makes him perfectly suited for the office he seeks.

Paul Ryan had to resist, with more will power than most of us could ever hope to summon, the urge to get up and beat the snot out of a condescending, disrespectful, rude, and childish old man on stage last night. Joe Biden, whether drunk, nervous, or just being himself; behaved like an amateur last night. Whatever points he may have made with his logic and words, he gave back with his body language and abhorrent social skills. The man didn’t even have the decency to respond with a simple “you’re welcome” when Congressman Ryan thanked him for the opportunity to debate in his closing statements.

We were all hoping to see another nail in the coffin of the Barack “River of Filth” Obama presidency last night, but this was not that kind of debate. This was a debate that set a lot of stages for next Tuesday’s debate. This was a debate that, for Joe Biden, was meant to steer the narrative. This debate was meant to put Romney and Ryan back on defense and it might have worked had it not been for Biden’s psychotic laughter and incredulity.

Mitt Romney is faithful. His faith is not limited to God. Mitt Romney has faith in the goodness of America. Mitt Romney believes that there is more to America than the walls Obama has put around us. He truly believes that the foolish spending, dependency nurturing, national security weakening, economy destroying, labor crushing ways of Barack Hussein Obama and his parasitic media allies are the confining walls of a prison. The prison is not incarcerating America. It’s incarcerating the hope America holds so dear. He believes in the innocence of America and he’s willing to crawl through that river of filth in order to deliver the freedom we all deserve.

It’s time for us, as the recipients of Mitt Romney’s undeniable faith, to start living like the people he believes us to be and not the people Obama has made us. If we’re going to rid this country of the germ that is His Barackness, we need to start living beyond his reach. Romney has done just that. Can we, as a nation, emulate the genuine goodness displayed by Mitt Romney? Can we finally start to look beyond our own, individual needs and consider what’s best for the country as a whole? If that time is taken; if that consideration can be applied to your vote, there is no possible way you pull that Obama lever in November.

At the end of Shawshank Redemption, Andy Dufresne and Ellis Boyd “Red” Redding embrace on the beach of Zihuatanejo. The plan that Andy implemented required the calculated and simultaneous defeat of unfathomable opponents and obstacles, but he emerged victorious and redeemed. Do we want to give up when we’re in the sewage pipe? Right now, it could be said that the “success pipe” in America is about 47% clogged. If we give up the fight and allow His Barackness to maintain residence at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue for four more years, that pipe will become clogged beyond any possible repair.

Hope is not a dangerous thing in America like it is within the dehumanizing walls of a prison. Hope is only dangerous in America when we are told what to hope for. Hope becomes a danger when we are encouraged, by those we elect to defend us, to “hope” for the wrong things. Hope becomes dangerous when it’s unaccompanied by ambition. The two cannot operate independently of each other and that’s why Obama’s “hope” has failed so miserably.

Hope becomes a danger when it is faked. When Barack Obama celebrated the ousters of Ghadaffi and Mubarak he pointed to all the hope these actions had delivered to a region of the world unaccustomed to such notions. For a while, we believed him. Then the reality set in. Yes, these men were finally out of power, but were they the real threat we were led to believe they were? Was there a plan in place for what or who would succeed them in power? There are four dead Americans and several heavily damaged United States Embassies who might say “no.”

Mitt Romney offers us a better option. It’s up to us to make sure that option is taken. No more hype. No more falsified information. No more “oops, we forgot to report CALIFORNIA in our jobless numbers on the morning of a Vice Presidential Debate but we swear it’s just a coincidental omission” type of mistakes. No more flexibility. No more condescension. No more disrespect. No more abandonment of principles. No more casting aside of values and traditions. No more heroic stances against imaginary foes. No more looking the other way while the man holding the highest office in our land weakens us as a country on every stage. No more.

It’s time for us to clear the blockage. This 47% nonsense seems to be the one the Obama campaign wants to go with. They are literally defending the clog in the pipe. They’re happy to let the clog increase until the flow of success in reduced to a sporadic trickle.

As always, thanks for playing!

Transparently Dishonest…..

By: J Robert Giles

“The essence of lying is in deception, not in words.” - John Ruskin

Flag

Many believe that in the not too distant future, the act of deceiving a fellow human being will come to be known as “Baracking.” Although many of the words that flow so eloquently from the charmed mouth of our President are coated in thick shells of dishonesty, his actions are even more deceptive.

Set aside the horrific assault on American intellect that has been the White House’s response to the recent atrocities in the Middle East. Plenty has been written on that topic. The media won’t report it, but they are having a pretty hard time covering up the emboldened, suddenly inspired, anti-American speech being tossed about in the pit of the United Nations building this week. We’re revered as weak. Our Constitution is suddenly open to the interpretation of foreign ideology. No…..the media won’t touch that one.

For weeks we have been hearing about Mitt Romney’s tax returns. Those who oppose Mitt Romney and all the success he has had in his life seem to believe that his immense wealth will somehow come as a surprise to the rest of us. Anyway, Romney releases last year’s return as well as a summary of the last two decade’s worth of tax records. Democrats are still not happy.

In fact, I don’t believe democrats will be happy until Romney hands them something they can really sink their teeth into. That’s the way they roll. That’s how they fight. They ask their opponents to drop their cover. Democrats are the types that pick a fight with a much bigger man, then ask that man to fight without the use of his hands, feet, arms, or legs and with his eyes closed so as to make it a “fair” fight.

Much to the dismay of the liberal agenda, Mitt Romney doesn’t seem to have any of those proverbial skeletons in his closet. Instead, his returns show a level of compassion and charity most cannot fathom. The man gave away 29% of his income and the left claims it was “a trick.” Meanwhile, several of the leaders in the party known for spending YOUR money have not been so generous with their own. For example, over the last ten years, Vice President Joe Biden gave away a paltry .1% of his income to charity. Senator John Kerry, married to the Heinz Ketchup heiress…..he gave NOTHING in the last two years. Anybody hear anything about this in the media or was it trumped out by the noise of the Romney Witch-hunt?

Liberal hearts seem to bleed profusely, giving up money by the truckload when that money was earned by someone else. In their own lives however, their fat, rarely opened wallets and purses tell a different story. In fact, through analysis of Mitt Romney’s 2011 Federal Tax Return, we discover that Romney didn’t even take all of the deductions afforded him by law. Anyone think Obama or Pelosi would have missed a single deduction?

Now, since the media won’t do it…..let’s ask for some of that “transparency” Obama promised of his Administration. I realize that by now we should be taking Obama’s “promises” as seriously as Green Bay Packers’ fans take the integrity of the replacement referees, but let’s assume we have a man with at least some sense of honesty sitting in the Oval Office. Close your eyes and pretend that’s the case….

Okay, now that we’re all comfortably assembled in the land of make believe, let’s pretend that Obama was as much of an “open book” as his quivering little minion Jay Carney says he is. When asked in July if His Barackness would be making his college transcripts available to the public, Carney went off on a tangent about Donald Trump. “This is the same guy who insisted the president wasn’t born in the United States.”

That’s a discussion for another day, Mr. Carney. While there should not be lingering questions of any kind regarding the birth certificate of our President after four years in office, there seem to be many hanging over THIS President. Many experts have flat out called it a “forgery.” Many have said the same thing about his Selective Service registration form, calling it not only a forgery but a “crude” forgery.

That’s not what we asked though. The question asked of Jay Carney before he piddled himself and had to be put back in his crate, was whether or not President Barack Hussein Obama would release transcripts and records of his college days. It was demanded of George W. Bush. It was demanded of Texas Governor Rick Perry who complied only to be ridiculed for his relatively low marks. Why does His Barackness get a free pass?

This is not a “birther” issue, Mr. Carney. This is an issue of public interest. What classes did he seek out? With which professors did he align? These records would confirm the brilliance Obama so often claims to possess. Besides, who told the White House, especially their yipping little press secretary, that they get to tell us what is relevant and not? Maybe I want to see if The President of the United States of America applied to college as a citizen of the United States, or of Indonesia where he was living at the time of application. Maybe we want to see if he applied and attended as “Barack Hussein Obama” or if he was still going by his alias, Barry Soetero at the time. He attended Muslim schools in Jakarta, Indonesia as Barry Soetero. Foreigners were not admitted into Indonesian Public schools so there are some lingering questions there that America might want some closure on. Why are we not allowed to ask those questions?

This president has a propensity for downplaying and shrugging off serious matters. He has trained and commanded his loyal staff to do the same. I imagine training pads and shock collars were used, but I might be off base. Why is it suspicious when Romney releases records that don’t support your argument but Obama’s insanely expensive cover-up of his own past is dismissed as “laughable?”

It’s not laughable, Mr. President. It’s shameful. You promised us transparency but instead you have delivered paranoia, dependence, a weakened reputation around the world, dishonesty and manipulation of vitally important economic figures, and instability where we were once fortified.

Barack Obama simply must go. There is too much evidence, too many questions, and too little morale left in the wake of his orthodoxy. No matter what skewed numbers are thrown at us the fact remains that America simply doesn’t feel better off than we were four years ago. Until Jay Carney starts assigning me my feelings, I’m going to trust the ones God puts in my soul.

As always, thanks for playing!

Disdainfully Written Off…..

By: J Robert Giles

“Dependency is death to initiative, to risk taking and opportunity. It’s time to stop the spread of government dependency and fight it like the poison it is.” - Mitt Romney

Handouts

His Barackness loves to refer to the “audacity of hope” when recalling his many acts of personal heroism. Unfortunately, the hope to which he so maniacally clings is not often accompanied by the “audacity of truth.” In the utopian world Obama has created for himself and those who worship at his altar of deceit, the truth is gasping for air. The truth is neglected, ostracized, punished, and left to die while glory is found in hype and charm.

Mitt Romney, once again finds himself battling this very resistance to truth. A video came out, as they always seem to do when opposition to Barackology is involved, in which Romney states that "There are 47 percent who are with {His Barackness}, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe that government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you name it."

What did he say there that isn’t true? This is what the uproar is about. This is what Obama himself has called “shocking.”

How is it shocking Mr. “President?” You have worked very hard to create an atmosphere of dependency. Is it shocking that someone was smart enough to catch on or that they had the scrotum contents to call you out on it? What’s shocking is the fact that you, the President of the United States, would dare to call the words of your political opponent “shocking” but can’t summon such stern rhetoric in response to the loss of American lives in the Middle East. What’s “shocking” is the fact that you care more about the respect you feel you are owed than you do about the people giving it to you.

Nevermind the fact that the comments were made by Mitt Romney back in May at a fundraiser. This was not a policy speech. Romney wasn’t even the official nominee yet, but these words are seen as the nail in Romney’s coffin by the left and the loyal little handbag Chihuahuas in the media. They’ve been yipping and piddling on their newspapers all morning. Romney was responding to people who were considering investing large sums of cash into his campaign and Obama is “shocked?” So, fundraisers at George Clooney, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Jay-Z’s house are fine? Those aren’t shocking, huh? You were nice to conservatives with every word you said or will say in these events, huh Mr. “President?”

Mitt Romney should not have to defend the truth. 47% of the people in the United States are going to vote for Obama no matter what. That’s what Romney was saying. It’s a fact. This idea that these words are insensitive and worthy of apology is preposterous. It’s a distraction and it’s fulfilling Obama’s goal of keeping the campaign focused on anything but his record. Reminds me of a saying my grandmother used to share often: Sweeping a turd under the rug won’t make it smell any better.

Nevermind the statistical accuracy in the statements. 47% of the people in America were offended by Mitt Romney having the audacity to shine a light on their dependency so naturally Romney has “disdainfully written off half the nation,” according to Obama for America Campaign Manager Jim Messina.

Well, Jim…..here’s a few other numbers you may want to consider:

· 2.1 Billion – That’s the number of Christians in the world who were “disdainfully written off” when Obama referred to them as “clingers” in his 2008 campaign.

· 65 – 70 Million – That’s the number of Catholics in America who were “disdainfully written off” with ObamaCare’s Contraception Mandate.

· 27 Million – That’s the number of small business owners in America who were “disdainfully written off” when Obama said “you didn’t build that.”

· 7.8 Million – That’s the population of Israel. “Disdainfully written off” as Obama welcomes members of the Muslim Brotherhood into the White House but refuses meetings with Benjamin Netanyahu; “disdainfully written off” as Obama provides shelter under resumè padding, pseudo-democracy he has spread in Middle East.

· 6 TRILLION – That’s the amount of dollars Obama has “disdainfully written off” by passing on the outstanding balance to our children.

· 286 Million – That’s the number of Americans who believe in God and were disgusted with the ridiculous “vote” at the Democratic Convention. We were all “disdainfully written off” as was democracy itself in that shameful glimpse into the self-serving mayhem that is the new Democratic Party.

· 2 – That’s the number of Credit Downgrades assigned to the United States under the careful watch of Barack Hussein Obama. Our credit was “disdainfully written off” while Obama partied with celebrities.

· 23 Million – The number of unemployed people who continue to be “disdainfully written off” by manipulated labor statistics and forced government dependence.

· 49,000 – That’s the number of taxpayer dollars being lost or “disdainfully written off” with every ideology fueled purchase of the highly combustible, government mandated, Chevy Volt.

· 1 Billion – That’s the approximate number of dollars spent or “disdainfully written off” on Guantanamo Bay since 2009 when Barack Obama had just completed a campaign in which he promised to shut down the facility.

· 173,000 – The number of new food stamp recipients created under Obama’s watch. Work ethic has been “disdainfully written off.”

· 48 – That’s the number of days left until the 2012 Presidential Election. Are we going to allow logic to be “disdainfully written off” until then?

As Paul Ryan said last week “no one is better at striking heroic poses against imaginary enemies” than Barack Obama. These issues Obama keeps trying to force down our throats are not the issues with which we are concerned. Unfortunately though, this is the battle our current “President” believes he is in. He doesn’t see himself or his country as being threatened by Islamic extremism because in his mind he killed bin Laden. He honestly believed Islam would praise him but instead, they are vowing to avenge the death of their leader. Yet he dares to call Romney “new” to foreign policy. In his mind, Obama believes America is voting for the best speaker. The best wordsmith.

We have to take this election. It’s time to show Romney that he has enough support to ignore the distractions Obama keeps throwing at him. It’s time to give him the breathing room he needs. It’s time to unite and to take back this country from the 47% who are happier to take than to earn. Calling them out is not a mistake. Calling them out is not the nail in Romney’s coffin unless WE allow it to be.

It’s time to bring abundant shame down upon the 47% Romney spoke of. It’s time to return a degree of guilt to a life unearned. Obama’s praise is demanded in return for handouts. America has ceased to be the land of the free and is now the land of the free crap. The flow of dependency programs to those willing to accept them can only be redirected with our rudders of truth but we have to unite and stick them down forcefully into the unyielding current of Obama’s hype. We HAVE TO.

Stand up and defend Romney with the same vehement strength of those willing to take everything you own to avoid working for it themselves. Otherwise, you’ll eventually be one of them.

As always, thanks for playing!

This One’s For The Ladies…..

By: J Robert Giles

“It’s hard to look for the light when you’re lost in the darkness.”  - Anonymous

Abuse

All she ever wanted was a better life than the one she lived as a child. She wanted a life far from the impoverished surroundings of her youth. Her parents shielded her as best they could but eventually, a curious child will break through even the strongest parental defenses. Despite the hard work of her parents, their limited income forced them into worlds where dreams are not often fulfilled.

Her parents had done their very best to provide a life of joy. They made ends meet with their extremely limited resources. They stretched and sacrificed more than her insulated mind could possibly have known at the time. Still, her dreams were of luxury and contentment. Dreams that often invade the mind of a young girl.

Finally, a man comes into her life and manages to sweep her off her feet. Their relationship moves quickly and before she has a chance to blink, that wide-eyed country girl is now a city-living housewife. Years pass by. She gives him two children but feels completely alone in raising them. The hero, as she had seen him in the infancy of their relationship is more stereotypical than original. He views her as his possession. He views her as his servant.

She sacrifices the loving respect she deserved for the life she told her friends back home she was getting. In exchange, she is given the privilege of living in his house. She is given the privilege of raising his children. She is forever in his debt. She relies on him far more than he relies on her and he never misses a chance to direct attention to this fact.

In public settings, he belittles her. He forbids her from seeing friends he deems “beneath” him. Her time with her own family is limited to hurried visits at holidays or birthdays; no more. The friends she used to rely on for humor, encouragement, and support worry when she starts to have more and more “accidents.”

The injuries from these so called accidents seem to be limited to the torso area. There’s never any visible bruising but the effects are apparent in her labored movement, breathing, and eye contact. The once confident smile that separated her from the crowd is now replaced with a solemn, glazed stare and a forced grin. Her vibrant, blue eyes now absorb light rather than twinkle as they did in the innocence of her youth. So obvious is the abuse, yet the hero goes unpunished.

The hero is admired by many. He’s the one all the neighbors will eventually tell a reporter about. They’ll describe him as “the nicest guy in the world.” Each one of them has seen the signs, but his charm and her ability to act as if her life is perfect keep suspicions to a dull, private roar. Human instinct forbids them from intervening. It’s easier to convince oneself that violence and abuse only happen in “other” neighborhoods than it is to help pick up the pieces of a confrontation. It’s one of those generally accepted cul-de-sac rumors…..no real proof. No one’s ever actually seen him hit her, but they all kind of accept the fact with quiet shame.

Then it happens…..he snaps. One of his outbursts spills out into the street where he drags her by the hair, screaming and kicking out into the yard. Their children are screaming for him to stop but his grip doesn’t loosen a bit. Her lip is bleeding and his rage is visible from a thousand feet. She’s screaming in terror…..begging him to please “stop.”

“I’ll do whatever you want…..please stop!”

Lights begin to illuminate the windows of neighbor’s homes. His rage subsides just long enough to let him know that his surroundings are not necessarily friendly. He notices his children crying. He hears the scream of approaching sirens and he reluctantly releases his grip on her hair.

YOU are one of the neighbors. What do you do? Do you support him as he begins his campaign to claim his innocence? Do you believe the stories and excuses he comes up with? Do you go along with the ridiculous reasons he uses to justify his actions?

Or…..do you stand up and support the woman who desperately needs a real hero? She’s in too deep. She can’t leave on her own because he’s got her too terrified to do so. He’s convinced her that she won’t survive without him. She’s a completely dependent victim. The damage he has done goes well beyond the visible bruises. They’re emotional and they are not yours to judge. Does she have to die before you take action? The cul-de-sac rumors are true and you are now faced with the decision to help the woman in need or support the abusive charmer. Which will it be?

That’s exactly where we stand as a country. When I hear numbers like 53-41 in favor of President Obama, it makes me sick. I’m talking about the polls which suggest such a staggering lead for Obama when it comes to female voters. It’s like the abused wife who’s too scared to defy the orders of her power hungry, uber-charming, abusive husband.

The women who blindly cling to Obama’s unfulfilled promises cannot possibly represent the margin the polls suggest. Ladies, get out there and spread the facts. Barack Obama does not love you as he claims…..he uses you for political gain. He doesn’t connect with you as he so eloquently states in his numerous daily campaign stops. Barack Hussein Obama is an abusive husband and the women of America are his trophy wives. He’s abusing each and every one of you but apparently, according to recent polls; only 41% of you have the courage to stand up for yourselves. Those of you who can honestly claim membership in that paltry percentage; you are to be commended.

Those of you who hide behind the costly shade of Obama’s charm, popularity, and hype…..we’re here to help. Just because we don’t believe the United States government should be funding abortions with our money, doesn’t mean we hate women. The fact that we don’t believe Sandra Fluke’s friend spent $3,000 per month on contraception does not make us extremists. The fact that we don’t believe Obama has the right to force a church to abandon it’s own beliefs does not make us zealots.

Barack Hussein Obama voted for legislation that would prevent a doctor from providing medical assistance to a fetus who managed to survive a late term abortion. He was the ONLY senator to vote that way. Yet we are considered to be the extremists in this situation?

That’s disgusting. That kind of mentality has absolutely no place running our country. That kind of thinking has absolutely no right to have any influence on the lives of my daughters. It’s time to break free from the chains of hype and take a stand. Women of America…..unite. There are plenty of real men out here who stand ready to fight alongside you. Not for you. Not against you. With you.

Michelle Obama is Barack’s incessantly mentioned example of what a “strong” woman should be. Do you agree? What has she done with the office she holds? Has she brought honor or shame to her role as First Lady of the United States? Having your picture taken with a shopping cart full of groceries in the local Target does not make you relate to the struggles of the single mother fighting for the survival of her family. Michelle Obama’s daughters will never know the fears and struggles faced by the women to which she claims to relate. Her world is insulated, pampered, and free. It is nothing like the world inhabited by the women I know and respect. (If you’re reading this, you’re one of them!)

Mitt Romney is Pro-Life and he believes abortion should be limited only to cases of rape or incest. In 2007, during a debate, Romney stated that he would “welcome a consensus that said we don’t want to have abortion in this country at all, period.” Despite the great manipulation skills of His Barackness, that does not mean that Romney is campaigning on a “promise to end all abortions.” Obama’s charm can’t grow old with you. His charm can’t provide the real protection, support, encouragement, and camaraderie you need. His love is for himself, not the vows he has taken to be true to you.

Obama is using you. He’s using you and we don’t want to wait until you’re lying naked in the yard with a busted lip and horrified children to take action. If you’re ready to flee his abusive rule, we’re here with open arms, impenetrable shields, and genuine respect. Welcome.

As always, thanks for playing.

Same As It Ever Was…..

“Complacency is a state of mind that exists only in retrospective: it has to be shattered before being ascertained.” - Vladimir Nabakov

Greetings proud capitalists. While life has seemingly forced me into a state of reclusion lately, my silence should in no way be interpreted as an improvement in Barack Hussein Obama’s honoring of the office he currently and tenuously holds.

In fact, many of you will be happy to know that during my forced absence, Obama’s stupidity was flowing with such force that keeping afloat was nearly an impossible task. Before I get into the bashing of our self-anointed king, I’d like to thank everyone who has extended a prayer or encouraging thought to my beautiful wife, Jackie as she courageously navigated her medical issues. I’d also like to thank all of those who have encouraged, supported, and listened as we both traverse some relatively delicate business endeavors. Couldn’t and wouldn’t do it without each and every one of you.

To my friends, family, and associates in the Denver area. The past few weeks have stirred some painful emotions but your strength is already shining through. Denver is a beautiful city which I am proud to be able to call a previous home. The stigma of tragedy will eventually fade. The lessons delivered through the pain will not. Honor them, not the horrific events that took them from us.

Now, back to the buffoonery of Pennsylvania Avenue:

So…..am I to understand that the President of the United States of America believes none of us are successful without entitlements? All you liberal, teat-sucking, leeches need not reply. We know your take on things…..”yeah, but…..it’s Bush’s fault. Obama’s so cool!” Cash your various entitlement checks and go on about your business! Logical people are talking here.

In what has become an all too familiar feeling in America over the last three plus years, we find ourselves in possession of maddeningly ignored evidence to the contrary of our President’s opinion, ideology, and actions. No, His Barackness, we are not beholden to the government for our successes as you seem to believe. In fact, I would say it is quite the opposite. Many of us would say that.

Barack Hussein Obama understands as much about building a successful business, small or otherwise, as Nancy Pelosi knows about appearing lifelike. I’m sure both of these beacons of political lunacy have their carefully mined examples of businesses that are not only well-known, but completely dependent upon government support for their existence. Of course there are going to be a few, but using them as a reflective sampling of small business in America is not only disrespectful to those willing to stick their necks out there, but also a clear glimpse into the dangerous vision of America held in the head of our current President and all those who support him.

The perpetual peddling of victimization is killing the very things that make America so unique. There was once a pride in our system of government. There was once an easily understood system of authority that Americans were happy to call their own. It was simple. Taxes were paid for things that made sense.

Then the politician was born. The United States government became a perpetual piggy bank for greedy salesmen, lawyers, and slightly melted wax sculptures of Christopher Walken like Hillary Clinton. The second politics started providing revenue streams to people willing to play the game of those willing to pay them…..all integrity and credibility was lost. No one can say for sure when that exact moment was, but I can assure you…..democrats were responsible.

While those entrenched in the Obama camp frantically try to back-pedal from this gaffe, I personally hope it is screamed from the heavens in deafening voices from now until November 6th. President Barack Obama is nothing he claims to be. He’s not America’s first black President. He’s America’s first bi-racial President. He’s not moving us “forward” as he so passionately asserts. He’s moving us down. His ideas have failed. His policies are dangerously extreme and his circle of trusted advisors is shrinking to what I believe are alarming numbers. His casual, self gratifying approach to the responsibilities of his title should be taken as seriously as any terrorist activity.

I would also like to shred the little media weasels who seem to believe they will earn some sort of Olympic Medal if they find the most original way to inflate the damage done by Mitt Romney’s comments about London’s readiness to host such an event. I’m referring to weasels like NBCNews.com, who put forth an article by one Chris Hampson regarding the issue. Hampson spends several cleverly penned paragraphs explaining the horrific damage done to all the world by Romney’s insensitive actions. He paints British leaders as heroes for slamming Romney and his comments. The funny part is that right smack in the middle of Hampson’s article, NBC News posts an ad for another article about how the traffic, security, long lines, and congestion are frustrating anyone within a hundred miles of London. Are you seeing the irony, liberals? Then, when Hampson describes PM David Cameron taunting Romney by referring to Salt Lake City as “nowhere,” his verbal swooning got to be too much to read.

Why is it okay for a British Prime Minister to rip the Olympics that were very well organized and on the heels of America’s greatest tragedy as “easy to pull off” but to point out the glaring problems with London’s readiness is an international gaffe? Why does the American media have such a soft spot for anyone disrespecting their own country? It’s sickening and it’s time we had a leader in the White House, not someone who cowers to public opinion at every turn. Mitt Romney may not be the answer to all of America’s problems but he is most certainly the answer to her biggest problem!

As always, thanks for playing!

America The Beautiful…..

By: J Robert Giles

@JRobertGiles

“The second day of July, 1776, will be the most memorable epoch in the history of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival. It ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forever more.” – John Adams (in a letter to his wife, Abigail)

Celebrate

What are we really celebrating under the fireworks and pageantry of July 4th in America? Some say it’s freedom. Others will tell you it’s a celebration of our uniquely brief history. Tangled within that history are heroic actions of countless Americans as well as a few rather embarrassing “growing pains.” Take a look at the textbook definition of July 4th and it’s easy to see why it’s called Independence Day. It’s the day that the Declaration of Independence, written by Thomas Jefferson and four other founding fathers, was officially accepted. The separation of the Thirteen Colonies from the Kingdom of Great Britain actually occurred on July 2, 1776, but the great national celebration has and forever will be held on July 4th.

So, again…..what is it that we are really celebrating during this “great anniversary festival” as John Adams so eloquently put it in the quote above? Quite simply put, we’re celebrating America. We’re celebrating the fact that this great land truly is worth fighting for. We’re celebrating the fact that no other nation on earth, no matter the span of their history, has accomplished so much in such a short period of time. We’re celebrating the fact that no other nation on earth, regardless of tenure, can claim as brilliant a governmental structure as America can. We are most certainly celebrating our freedom, but it’s not the freedom from England that President Adams spoke of. It’s the freedom within the borders of America that we celebrate. It’s the freedom to question the brilliance of our government when questioning is required that we celebrate. It’s the power to demand change based on the answers we are given that gives us cause for celebration.

Our freedom gives us the uniquely American ability to publicly question laws with which we do not agree but we celebrate the fact that as Americans we do so within the framework of a magnificently conceived system of government. When the freedom of one man is limited by the actions of another, we as Americans defend the victim. That’s the basis of America and it is that great responsibility that we celebrate with colorful fireworks, delicious barbecue, and baseball. What we do not celebrate is the abundance of “willing victims” present in our great country today. We do not celebrate the fact that “victim” has become a full time career for many of those around us. We celebrate our freedom, but we also celebrate our ability to grant freedom to so many who are currently imprisoned by a system that should never have gained such power.

This 4th of July, take some time to consider how far we have come in the exercise of true freedom. Consider the sacrifices made to deliver the America we have today and consider the brilliance that went into designing our unique system of government. The frustration we often feel is directed at men within the government, not the government itself. To celebrate American Independence on July 4th does not require birth within her borders. In fact, an argument could be made that those who struggled to obtain the freedoms offered within America’s diverse geography have a much deeper appreciation for the freedoms many of us take for granted. The men and women who fought for our original freedom from an oppressive Kingdom mired in antiquated systems of governance knew exactly what they were celebrating in the first July 4th Festivals. Do we? Are we celebrating the same kind of freedom those brave men cherished as they watched “the bombs bursting in air?” No. We are not.

Tomorrow, when you hear His Barackness giving a well rehearsed, well written speech designed to tug at the heartstrings of an exhausted nation, ask yourself honestly…..”does this man really represent the freedom” you are celebrating with your family? Does Barack Hussein Obama, despite the appearance of patriotism, care about tradition, history, and exceptionalism of the country Thomas Jefferson heroically declared “independent” two-hundred-thirty-six years ago? Only the most blindly loyal Obamanite would be able to answer yes to that question without an uncomfortable gurgle in the pit of their stomach. To that end, I ask you to consider the fact that while the fight may not involve muskets, cannons, militias, or caissons its outcome is no less important. We are fighting, once again, for our independence.

Make no mistake that the reelection of Barack Hussein Obama will be the modern day equivalent of losing the Revolutionary War. That’s not hyperbole. That’s not right-wing fear tactics, or uninformed exaggeration…..that’s fact. The country designed by the brave men celebrating the first July 4th festivities never anticipated the blatant manipulation of its inherent wisdom by a man adhering not to his patriotic duties but instead to an ideology completely foreign to them. Think about that as you watch fireworks explode against the night sky tomorrow night. Think about the America Barack Obama celebrates. Is it the one that our founding fathers envisioned?

Do you think George Washington would have signed a wildly unpopular law into effect against the wishes of the public, then manipulated its description to the Supreme Court, then publicly contradicted the ruling of that court to win political points? No. He would not have. That is NOT the system we celebrate on this day. That is the oppressor from which we now fight to free ourselves. That is the opponent, folks. The very people who have corrupted, infected, ruined, and stolen from a system designed to govern the greatest nation on earth. That’s both sides of the aisle. Enough time has been wasted; enough energy has been invested in the highly speculative task of properly assigning blame. It’s not important. What is important is the identification and seizure of opportunities in our future.

It’s time to get mad. It’s time to stand up and demand the return of American glory to the world. We owe it to the very ground beneath our feet to celebrate our independence tomorrow. So, the question remains; what is it that Barack Obama is celebrating tomorrow? He can’t be celebrating the founding principles of the United States of America because he has actively pursued devastation to such notions since his glorious ascension. Our celebration tomorrow should be emotionally similar to the months leading up to July 4, 1776. Tomorrow should be a day of celebration only if we are sincerely willing to stare down the barrel of every trick, deception, manipulation, distraction, and pathetic groveling between now and November 6th.

Celebrate tomorrow brothers and sisters. Celebrate the fact that you live in a country who, when faced with destruction has always found a way to recover. That’s exactly what we’ll do in November. We will begin the road to recovery. In the early 1930’s, the New Deal brought about an end to the misery of the Great Depression. Men and women went back to work with a common, unifying purpose. Projects were designed with the notion of endurance. Pride in American exceptionalism was not kept hidden. Is not a secretive notion discussed only in the safety of home and family. It was public. It was a common voice. It was a collective voice telling America as a whole to “get up and fight.”

Ladies and gentlemen; we’ve arrived at that glorious threshold once more. It’s time once again for fireworks to mean something. It’s time once again to stand tall as Americans. We will not give into the sadistic whims of a man more loyal to twisted ideology than preservation of greatness. We will not bow before a man who would actively seek the absence of Christ. We will not seek the approval of a man whose allegiance is to himself over all else. We will not abandon our principles in exchange for more unfulfilled promises and twisted logic. Celebrate your independence tomorrow, Americans. Celebrate it and then go retrieve it! United we stand.

As always, thanks for playing.

The Victory Celebration That Was Neither…..

By: J Robert Giles

@JRobertGiles

“As our enemies have found we can reason like men, so now let us show them we can fight like men also.”  - Thomas Jefferson

ObamaShattered-296x300

Every fiber of my being tells me I should be furious right now, but quite frankly; fury is not the emotion that comes to mind. Of course I’m never happy when His Barackness is given reason to celebrate but my general mood simply doesn’t match the level of fear I’ve held in anticipation of this day for the last two months. Maybe it’s the fact that I just returned home from a wonderful vacation with my entire family, or maybe it’s the fact that Obama’s celebration, as is the case with so much of his presidency, seems cheap and insincere. It’s as if he knows this victory is not really a victory.

The overall response to the Supreme Court’s decision today is confusion. I do not appear to be alone in my bewilderment. Those of us who had prepared for anger and revolution in response to the ruling we were handed this morning find ourselves in possession of contradictory emotions. We know at our core that ObamaCare is a bad thing. We are intelligent enough to know that the sight of a celebrating Obama is never a good thing. We’ve been conditioned to know that Obama’s celebrations usually mean devastation and misery for those of us on whose behalf he claims victory. A perfect example of this would be the arrogance with which Obama said in response to the SCOTUS ruling that “…now is the time to keep our focus on the most urgent issue of our time….putting people back to work…..” Apparently His Barackness believes the Catholic Church was bluffing in their promise to close all Catholic Hospitals in this country if forced to obey an “unjust law.” Apparently, Obama defines victory for the 765,894 employees of those hospitals as entry into the community of victimization known as unemployment. Those people, in Obama’s mind, must suffer for their insubordination and stubborn indignation in their opposition to his brilliance. Three quarters of a million people out of work is a mere grain of sand on a beach compared to the number of jobs companies will be forced to scrap in order to pay for this bill. But who really won today? Did Obama really win as his openly displayed arrogance would seem to suggest. The answer is an emphatic “NO!”

Obama did not win. Don’t be fooled. Don’t be hoodwinked any more. Don’t let the celebrity laden celebrations fool you. Don’t let the reaction of hospital administrators fool you either. Their celebration is strictly financial and has absolutely nothing to do with the healthcare YOU will receive in the future. The only celebration to be found in the executive levels of major hospitals today is the hope that they will soon be recouping millions of dollars in previously “uncompensated care.” The flood of “newly insured” patients clogging the arteries of our nation’s healthcare facilities is the elephant in the room. It’s a topic almost impossible to discuss without shades of racism but it’s a certain future. Despite the liberal pleasing agony that is sure to come, it’s still not a victory for Obama.

Today’s ruling is not a victory for Obama in the fact that this whole hearing and ensuing speculation has revealed that it is wildly unpopular among voters. It will be very hard for Obama to win on a campaign of “I passed the biggest tax increase in American history.” It will be very difficult for Obama to win in November after what is sure to be four solid months of logical dissent. People who are currently cheering the ruling are doing so because they don’t understand its impact. Four months is a long time to educate those people. By saying it was “definitely not a tax” in the beginning but then pitching the law as a “tax” to the Supreme Court, liberal lawyers won the battle but lost the war. They handed over the White House to Mitt Romney. Plain and simple. Obama swore there would be “no tax increases” during his presidency and he has now championed the largest in history. His “victory” has exposed him as a liar once more. The fact that he did not use the word “tax” one single time in his response to the ruling should tell you how much he fears the backlash. The fact that money is now pouring into the Romney campaign should tell you how America feels. This “victory” that Obama is celebrating today is like a football team celebrating a win in which every starter was injured. The American people do not want this law. Whether it’s a tax or not, it’s not what we want. Obama is publicly celebrating the fact that he’s exerting his will over all of us and it is going to come back and bite him in his lying ass in November.

Many of you are calling for the execution of Justice Roberts’ career today and at first glance I was right there with you. However, after reading his decision, it’s painfully obvious that Justice Roberts is playing for a much bigger victory than the one Obama’s insincerely celebrating today. Justice Roberts was expected to uphold the opinion of the party for whom he was appointed to represent in battles like this. People, he did just that. It’s not easy to see right now through the haze of anger and celebrating political foes, but Justice Roberts just gave Romney every piece of ammunition he will need to evict Obama and his insane ideology from the White House in November. Justice Roberts also forced the repeal battle back into Congress where it can be argued on a political stage. Advantage Republicans. The bill is likely to become even more unpopular as more and more people realize that it is in fact a tax as we’ve said all along. Clips of Obama lecturing his interviewers who dared to call the penalty for not having health insurance a “tax” will be played from now until November 6th and they will only serve to prove that this man is an incompetent, deceptive, liar. Those in Congress who choose to side with Obama during the inevitable Congressional repeal process will do so in public and at their own peril. Justice Roberts, while unpopular today, may have just delivered what we are all really asking for. He forced Obama to celebrate something that voters hate. He forced the Obamanites in Congress to publicly display their constituent crushing loyalty. This ruling, while unpopular on its surface is a good thing.

While we are all a little disappointed in the Supreme Court today, it must be pointed out that they did their job. The way the argument was presented to them during the hearings left them no choice but to uphold the law. The fact that the liberals swore it to be anything but a tax in 2009 bears no relevance in their decision. Their job was to evaluate the facts as they were presented to them. If we wanted the “tax” issue taken out of the argument, we should have hired better lawyers. We didn’t and now this is the battle we face. Luckily, Justice Roberts is in fact on our side and he has arranged for this battle to be fought on our home field. He has arranged for this battle to take place against the backdrop of a Congress that has failed to pass a budget even once during Obama’s presidency. He’s arranged for this battle to take place prior to the election, not after as Obama so desperately wanted. One way or another, the support Obama needs to truly “win” is going to be noticeably absent when called to action. Even more importantly, the gift of Justice Roberts’ decision will force fools like Pelosi, Rangel, and Reid to publicly execute themselves…..on the record…..for all the world to see. A repeal vote is coming before the Presidential election, folks. It could come as early as next month. How will the quivering little handbag Chihuahuas protect themselves and their careers without denouncing their golfing God? When asked to choose between their own political futures and Obama’s, who do you think they will choose?

Like I said in the beginning of this article, I know I should feel angry today, but I just don’t. Despite the celebrations of my opponents today, I feel victorious. I feel like the kid who gets the keys to his dream car on his fifteenth birthday. Can’t drive it yet. Have to watch as others enjoy the thrill of my gift but eventually, that car will be mine. Eventually, this country will be free from the insane ideology of Barack Hussein Obama and Justice Roberts deserves some of the credit for that glorious and rapidly approaching day.

As always, thanks for playing!

Your Open Mind Has Allowed Your Brain To Escape…..

By: J Robert Giles

@JRobertGiles

“Be polite to all but intimate with few.”   - Thomas Jefferson

Many times as children we are told to “keep an open mind” about certain things. Sometimes we get burned by our own youthful trust in the world around us. I trusted my mother when she told me to keep an open mind about Zucchini Casserole and it darn near landed me in the ICU with spastic colon, irritable bowels, a swollen tongue, and a delusional distrust of anything served in a casserole dish. (That may be a slight exaggeration but suffice it to say, the dish is not on my “Like Mom Used to Make” list of favorite foods!) My youngest daughter and my beautiful bride, Jackie share a sometimes consuming need to know exactly what is coming around the corner. Part of it is their unshakeable belief that the rest of the world is simply not capable of operating at their own level of efficiency, diligence, or intelligence. As I am perfect in almost every single way, I allow this little game to continue until they collide at a point where they both know what’s best, yet their opinions are opposite. It is very hard for either of them to see beyond their own ideas of how things should run. Having never suffered at the hands of such an affliction myself I find it hard to relate when they get to that frenzied level of assertiveness. It’s like an emotional dog-fight. Two Pit Bulls, in full body armor, driving emotional tanks at one another until one opinion wins and the opposition lies soaking in their own tears. Again, I may be viewing them through slightly exaggerated lenses and I’m sure they will inform me of such as soon as they have the opportunity, but the point is that we often get too caught up in our own ideas to see what’s right in front of us. We have to get that “last word” or the fight wasn’t worth fighting.

We’ve all had that relationship with that annoying couple who can’t stop themselves from reminding you how perfect their marriage is. You know the ones that stare into each other’s eyes as if they’re the only people in the restaurant? They talk down to others as if no other relationship on earth could possibly be as special, connected, or righteous as their own. It’s a sad part of human nature that these are the same people we are all internally giddy to see going through a humiliating divorce. It’s the same part of human nature that makes us tune into anything that might result in the on-air overdose of Charlie Sheen. It’s the same aspect of human nature that keeps admitting Terrell Owens into locker rooms around the various football leagues in North America. It’s one of those “on-paper” decisions. T.O. looks good on paper, and even if he destroys the cohesive fabric of the team, he’s sure to bring some publicity and interest. This is the world our media has created for us. Disaster brings higher ratings than relief. Infidelity is more interesting than the sanctity of marriage. Ideology is easier to sell than reality. And that, right there ladies and gentlemen, is the problem with our political system.

For three and a half years, we have been suffering under the results of a false reality. We’ve been told to look the other way while more and more mistakes are made and blamed on someone else. We bought into the ideology without considering the reality of that purchase. When I say “we,” I am of course just being nice to all of those poor, misguided souls who voted for Obama back in 2008 simply because of the mob-pleasing, attention getting, media friendly hope and change he promised. We’ve ignored the reality that this administration has left in its wake. Is it because we are weak? Is it because we are too tired to fight? Is it because we haven’t come up with a plan of our own yet or is it because we are simply being defeated? Whatever the case may be, the truth is that we have gotten so locked into one way of thinking that it has taken a slap to our collective faces to jar us from the trance. His Barackness being the aforementioned “slap” of course. Again, using the collaborative “we” as a courtesy to those willing to atone for their 2008 mistake; WE became so enamored of what Obama told us he could deliver that we never took the time to consider the possibility of failure. He spoke so passionately. He described this green energy powered utopia in such optimistic language. It was as if he had literally been there already. His blame of Bush made sense to a lot of people who had abandoned what we were warned would be a “long and difficult” road. Okay, you know what…..you people handed over the reins of your country to a mad-man. There’s absolutely no reason why I should extend you any more courtesies.

America is not as strong today as it was when Obama took office. That is an undeniable, iron-clad fact. His assertion that Republicans “ordered a big steak dinner” and then stuck him with “the tab” is just wimpy. It sounds like another charming excuse from the man who has mastered the craft. It does not sound like the dignified leader of the greatest country on earth. We’ve become enamored of the man who holds the office rather than the office. The President of the United States of America deserves better than the scuffing given to its name by the current title holder. That office is supposed to be held by a man with undying, unshakeable patriotism running through his veins. George Washington, with his rich, courageous, military background would shudder at the sight of the office he built. Thomas Jefferson would weep. Abraham Lincoln would stoically mourn at the state of disrepair plaguing the office he so proudly held. Ronald Reagan would bow his head and pray. We have allowed ourselves to trade “what was” for “what if.”

In his book The Five Laws of Liberty, Scott Hyland tells us to 1) Remember the Past 2) Embrace the Truth 3) Respect Humanity 4) Exercise Self-Control (Restraint) and 5) Protect and Serve Others. These were founding principles of our country. They were definitely characteristics of the men listed above, but what about the leaders in office today? What past do they remember? Is it the real one or is it the one they’ve created to justify their actions? What truth have they embraced? The only answer should be that the United States government is not bigger than the people it represents but can anyone honestly say that they believe this is how Obama sees his role in our lives? Does this administration show respect for humanity? The man’s got a “Kill List” for heaven’s sake! They show tremendous respect for those willing to vote for them in return. They respect convicted murderers more than they respect unborn babies. They respect celebrity over morality. They respect obedience over innovation. Do we even need to address the restraint issue? Has any liberal President ever shown restraint or self-control? If JFK worked in your office, he’d be that creepy guy who claims to have slept with every woman in the office. If Bill Clinton lived in the same world you do, he’d be in prison for some sort of sexual deviance by now. Do they protect and serve others? Ask Governor Perry of Texas just how much relief His Barackness granted the people affected by Tropical Storm Hermine. Ask the people who would have been given “meaningful” work with the approval of Keystone XL if they feel that Obama is looking out for their best interests or only his own.

We’ve lost sight of what the office of the President of the United States is supposed to be. It is NOT celebrity endorsements and fancy dinners. I find it insulting that Obama would dare to insinuate that Republicans ordered a “big steak dinner” on his tab while he is jetting around the country at a rate of about $180,000 (Taxpayer provided) per hour collecting $10,000 a plate dinner fees which go directly to his campaign. $40,000 to attend an evening with His Barackness at the home of George Clooney. Just because Obama felt that we shouldn’t have gone after those who attacked us on 9/11 does not mean that Bush was simply “racking up a tab” with the ensuing war. Obama acts as if he’s the first President to be handed some expenses when he takes over. His handling of those responsibilities has been abhorrent and simply cannot be blamed on his predecessor. He promised us success despite the requirements of such a promise. Enough is enough.

Would you rather we have a cool President to present to the rest of the world, or a strong country? Personally, I could care less how cool Mitt Romney looks when he’s delivering speeches. I could not possibly care less how many celebrities like him. Those are the things that we have been led to believe are important. We have placed importance on those things and as a result, our country is failing. It’s failing and it’s time to stop pretending the problem will go away if we act like it’s not there. It is there. Your kid’s on drugs. Your daughter’s sexually active. That mole is getting bigger. You don’t have any more money to spend. Those things you would address no matter how uncomfortable it made you feel so why is it so easy to get us to look the other way when our country is being stolen from us? This problem will only go away if we roll up our sleeves and clean up the mess. If we view Romney through the same lenses prescribed to us by the Obama administration, we’re doomed. Celebrity is not nearly as important as truth. Ideology is not nearly as important as morality or common sense. View the world through those lenses for a while, would ya?

As always, thanks for playing!

Back To The Future…..

By: J Robert Giles

@JRobertGiles

“I would like to think that with my election and the early decisions that we’ve made, that you’re starting to see some restoration of America’s standing in the world.”  - Barack Hussein Obama  (Reportedly said with a straight face.)

Obarter

They say that history repeats itself, but most of us consider ourselves too young to witness such a trend. Why is it that only the negative parts of our historical cycle like the decay of civilizations, war, bell-bottom jeans, and El Nino seem to gain our attention? There are positive events tangled into that repetition too. It’s not all fallen empires and catastrophic events, you know? I know in my heart that the Dallas Cowboys will win another Super Bowl before I draw my last breath. It’s just bound to happen sooner or later. How about this election cycle? Does it not have an undeniable feeling of déjà vu to it? How about the emotions surrounding this particular election?

Take the candidates out of the discussion. Just look at the emotions in the air. If you were alive in the late seventies, you’ll notice an uncanny resemblance to the world with which you are now surrounded. Iran is flexing its crazy muscle. Gas prices suck. Our president’s a buffoon. Liberals will no doubt point out all sorts of “facts” to say that this time is different. They’ll distance themselves from the historical failures of their ideology. They’ll do what they always do which is to rewrite history and paint themselves in a more favorable light. They’ll scoff at our mention of their failures. They’ll look down their noses at us as if we only view failure in their actions because we are too simple to understand their brilliance. They’ll quickly find another victim to cling to and together they’ll reject reality like children. Everything is someone else’s fault. Blame is like sex to liberals. They can’t get enough it.

America felt the same way in the seventies. We were still healing as a country from the wounds of war, a presidential assassination, and the stench of hippies. We were ready for some positive energy. I’m not talking about anything related to crystals, but actual positive energy. We knew we were great. We knew America could do better than the reputation our actions had earned us around the planet. Reagan was elected President and our country seemed to bounce back. Mention of Reagan’s name seems to be a lightning rod for criticism lately because liberals do NOT want us drawing that emotional comparison. They do not want us to draw the correlation between the complete and resolute abandonment of liberal ideology and the success of America in the early eighties. They’ll rewrite history to make the eighties seem like a miserable time to be an American, but if that were true then such cinematic greats as Hot Tub Time Machine would never have been written. Think about it. Try as they might, the facts are just too real to ignore.

We’re standing on that precipice once more. There’s no way to ignore the fact that America feels like it’s gotten it’s butt kicked repeatedly over the last four years. In some way, every single American has suffered a loss under Obama’s leadership. Even more unfortunate is the fact that the heaviest damage done under His Barackness has been leveled against Americans who won’t be born for at least another generation. Liberals love to call themselves “progressives” but what exactly are we allowing them to define as progress? Do we really want to “progress” any further toward a liberal’s idea of utopia where competition is frowned upon, work ethic is viewed as a character flaw, and prayer is considered a crutch for the weak? Is that the world we want to deliver to our great grandchildren? These actions that we keep ignoring…..they’re not going to just go away. This debt that we keep allowing our government to accumulate with no budget or plan to cut it off at any time in the future…..it will go unchecked until such time as America rolls up its sleeves and fights back. Liberals love to attack Reagan and talk about how he raised taxes eleven times during his presidency but what they fail to acknowledge is the overall morale boost his leadership gave to this country. What they fail to acknowledge is how great it was to be in America during the Reagan years. Liberals will blame propaganda, cocaine, and selective blindness for the boost in patriotism and pride but in reality it was the freedom to prove our greatness. It was the encouragement we felt to compete. It was the consuming drive to live up to our own goals. It was the belief that being an American was worthy of pride. When America felt like we had been kicked in our panhandles by the Carter years, Reagan was asked to take over. Liberals love to scoff at the comparison of Obama to Carter. Maybe they’re right…..Carter actually deserved his Nobel Prize, and he only accumulated a few hundred billion dollars in national debt. Carter must have been unaware of the free-for-all spending habits of Obama’s brand of liberalism. If only Obama had been an American at the time, maybe he could have enlightened Mr. Peanut. Carter led Reagan by 18% in ABC News-Harris Polls in May of 1980 but only won 6 states in November. Obama and Romney are neck and neck. I never imagined I would be uttering the following statement, but compared to Obama; Jimmy Carter is a bona fide badass. Think about that for a second, liberals…..the man who once screamed in terror because a rabbit was swimming toward his fishing boat is more manly than your current deity. Does that not concern you at all? Does that not bring the least bit of shame to your loyal little psyches? Carter stood up to the fodder from the swamp rabbit incident and acknowledged its humor. Would Obama have done the same thing? To be honest…..I now agree with the liberals who scoff at the comparison of Jimmy Carter to Barack Obama but I do so for very different reasons. I do so because such a comparison is unfair to President Carter.

In November of 1980, Ronald Reagan became President, but in the eight years of his Presidency America woke up. We gave unto the world such things as the personal computer, The McRib and its long forgotten cousin, the McDLT, and overt greed. Many lessons were learned and many pains endured, but no matter what anyone says, the eighties were a good time to be an American. No matter what anyone says, Obama is a horrible leader and he must be unelected. That’s not to say that Romney will be the next Reagan, but without him there may not be a next American President. That title will be appointed by whichever government owns this country by then! The comparisons need to be made. They need to be examined and they need to be acknowledged. America is standing on the precipice of another patriotic awakening but simply accepting fluorescent colored clothing and absurd spending habits is not all that will be required of us. We’re going to have to work. We’re going to have to suffer and we’re going to have to sacrifice. The result of that effort will be the peaceful happiness that springs from a common goal. America’s greatness is a terrific goal and it is one that transcends political stubbornness. Liberalism has failed under Obama’s Presidency. It’s as simple as that. Step out of the way, let capitalism and its competitive nature clean up the moral, financial, and spiritual mess liberalism has left in its wake and let’s get back to the American pride felt with the overall progress of the eighties.

They say history repeats itself, but our reactions and our handling of that repetition do not have to remain consistent. Instead of record personal debt and foolish household spending, teach responsibility and good stewardship this time around. We can accept and engage the return of the fitness craze of the eighties, but there is no law that requires leg-warmers, big hair at the gym, or Jane Fonda’s relevance to be included in that repetition. They say history repeats itself, but Obama’s trying to recreate the election of 2008 and it’s just too soon. His record simply doesn’t support the hype and charm. His attacks against Romney are proving to be empty and more damaging to Obama than those who want him gone. He attacks Romney for his success at Bain Capital; painting him as greedy, but then turns around and asks Wall Street for enormous campaign contributions. Cowardly. He portrays himself as one of the SEAL’s responsible for Bin Laden’s death. Cowardly. He creates victims wherever a victim will further his cause. Cowardly. Put Obama, alone in a fishing boat in a Georgia swamp and release some swamp rabbits. Carter splashed water at the beast and joked about the incident later with great humility. Obama would label the rabbit a racist and have him deported but still expect his vote in November. He’s THAT crazy!

As always, thanks for playing!
