HERE IS AN IDEA---  Freedom loving peoples should be selective where they chose to vacation. For instance, don't support the peoples republic of California with your vacation dollars, support free enterprise destinations over repressive communities.

In fact, make a big deal of it, let the liberal centers know that you won't be visiting them any longer.

California is full of places to avoid. Here is an example, I love mountains and mountain life, I bought a place in South Lake Tahoe 22 years ago. Vacationed there mainly, then moved there in 2007 when I left Morgan Stanley (on my 50th birthday, read between those lines).

From my personal experience and observations with the community of South Lake Tahoe I've come to see it as the poster child for all that is wrong with America. An oppressive government that has devastated the small business community and racked up massive debts from failed government controlled development projects.

It is not surprising after all the "Jewel of the Sierras" has long been a battleground between liberal extremists and conservatives. The Sierra lake community has been hijacked by the leftwing extremists and turned South Lake Tahoe into the decimated community it is.   (Details on the Trailer above)

If you support freedom than you should avoid South Lake Tahoe and communities like it, and let them know why. You can reach the people directly in communities like South Lake Tahoe through their online media. Make a comment in their "locals" newspaper. Let the liberals know that you would not do business with them because you love freedom and they repress it. Perhaps the conservatives among them will then be able to rise to the cause. There are not many conservatives left in the area but there are some, they have been bullied into submission but may rise with encouragement.

Just a few comments in the locals press would cause a tizzy.

Doing something, does something.  Let the community know that their acceptance of government oppression has cost them your business.

THE IMPACT OF TOT ON CENTRALIZATION AND THE CRONY CREEP

One of the culprits in the centralization of control and subsequent decline in many destination communities is the success of the Transient occupancy Tax (TOT) a.k.a.  Hotel Room Tax.  This system can lead to a destructive Crony community such as what happened in South Lake Tahoe.  Government insiders working with select outside developers and "Consultants" corrupt the separation between public and private sectors and degradate  the community. Insiders "controlling" the tax flow from TOT and using it to control the community through marketing and promotions that favor the crony goals. The potential impacts are multiple, dramatic and long lasting.

There is an old hatred returning to the Christian community.  A hatred of Jews and Judaism.  It is especially vicious this time of year.  A new call for the blood of Jews to run through out the streets of the world.  A vicious cry led by the Church of England, Roman Catholic Church, Presbyterian Church (USA) and Evangelical Lutheran Church.

A new report from NGO Monitor reveals that several Christian organizations that support the Palestinian Authority are using Christmas to attack Israel. Holiday propaganda ranged from half-truths aimed at portraying Israel as oppressive to “crude anti-Semitism” based on historic Christian accusations of Jews being prophet-killers, the group said.

The report, titled, “O Boycott All ye Faithful,” criticized groups including Christian Aid, Sabeel, Kairos Palestine, and Israel Palestine Mission Network, Presbyterian Church (USA).

The latter group has published a daily advent devotional headed by a picture in which Mary and Joseph, parents of Jesus, are trapped behind a wall styled on Israel’s security barrier between Bethlehem and Jerusalem. The first entry compares Israel to the Romans who once brutally oppressed the Jewish people.

“Jesus lived when the Roman empire had recently come to his land and made it part of the empire. The Romans were very cruel to any of those who dared to resist the occupation… As we look at the complexity of the Palestine/Israel issues today, I am struck by a sense of déjà vu,” wrote Reverend Richard Toll.

His message also included a warning to “collaborators,” whom he said Christians must expose. The PA considers “collaboration” with Israel in fighting terrorism a death penalty offense.

Further writings continue the trend of extreme criticism of Israel, with some hinting that modern-day Palestinian Authority Arabs are like Jesus, while Israel is like the Romans who killed him.

The annual Christmas message from Sabeel compares Israel to the Roman Empire as well, as does a video message posted by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

Groups based in England and Ireland – Amos Trust, Christian Aid, and the Ireland Palestinian Solidarity Campaign – used images or writings that targeted Israel’s security barrier by comparing PA residents to figures in early Christianity. Amos Trust, for example, wrote, “If Jesus were born today in Bethlehem, the Wise Men would spend several hours queuing to enter the town.”

The security barrier was built following a brutal wave of suicide attacks targeting Israeli civilians. Jerusalem, just minutes from Bethlehem, was hit by dozens of attacks murdering hundreds of people. Several of the attackers were from Bethlehem, among them a bomber who targeted high school students on their way to school, killing and wounding several dozen.

Unsurprisingly, the issue of terrorism in Bethlehem was not mentioned by any of the organizations.

“NGOs and well-known charities are exploiting the 2012 Christmas season with anti-Israel campaigns… The repeated emphasis on Bethlehem highlights the dark theological messaging,” warned NGO monitor.

“With this abuse of holiday and religious symbols, these NGOs and charities that claim to promote moral agendas are not offering messages of peace and good cheer. Rather, their intolerant and theologically charged messages exacerbate an already polarized and violent conflict,” the group charged.

Many of the offending groups are funded by the European Union and European governments. Sabeel is funded by Sweden, and Christian Aid by the UK, Ireland, Norway and the EU.

“As funders, these governments are enablers and share the moral responsibility for the actions of the NGOs,” NGO Monitor declared.

Obamas: Confusing Christmas with a "Seasonal" Event

The Obamas, in an unnamed magazine interview, agree that Santa Claus and "seasonal gifts," are appropriate, BUT Christmas gifts are not.

In a magazine interview Obama and his wife Michelle revealed that one of their steadfast house rules is not giving Christmas or birthday presents to Malia, 10, and Sasha, seven.

The couple explained that they spend "hundreds" on birthday slumber parties and want to "teach some limits". Santa Claus is still permitted to deliver seasonal gifts however.

I was impressed until I got to that last sentence. I concede that Christmas gifts get out-of-hand, and the meaning of Christmas can be lost in the material wealth on December 25th.

But if Santa is allowed to come and leave "seasonal gifts" on the traditional day of Christ's birth, in a Christian home - them I confused.

Other cultures and religions have celebratory events at about the same time as our Christmas. Some celebrate with traditional Christmas icons such as Christmas trees, Christmas stockings, gifts, - even though they are not Christian. But the Obamas do not adhere to other cultures or other religions, do they?

This glimpse into the Obama's home life, on the most sacred day of the year, other than Resurrection Day, for a Christian, is one more reason to doubt his commitment to Judeo-Christian values. And yes, I know that I do not know what is in a person's heart. Nevertheless...

Christmas is not a "seasonal" event.

The Spirit of Christmas and Religious Bigotry

The thing that makes the left so insidious is that hidden among a multitude of untruths and bits of twisted logic are a few kernels of truth. Sometimes those truths are very hard to take – especially if we happen to be Christians and political conservatives.

They just can't help themselves, can they ? Frankly, I’ve just about had it with the feeding frenzy over the religious differences among our presidential candidates! I will tell you right here and now that if I don’t vote for Romney it won’t be because he is a Mormon. And if I don’t vote for Huckabee it won’t be because he’s a Baptist.

The religious arguments I’ve heard leveled against Romney’s religion are the same type of arguments that were leveled against the Roman Catholic candidate, John Kennedy. It’s a very slippery and very dangerous slope.

I watched all the “Christmas” season videos by all the candidates. It’s a sad state of affairs that so much negativity was made of Huckabee’s Christmas greeting. Just a few years ago nothing would have been thought of it. Honestly, from my point of view, Obama’s greeting was the smartest. He didn’t say “Christmas,” but he made sure that his child did. Good grief, Obama was the only candidate with the common sense to put his family in his greeting – a greeting meant to please and unite all Americans.

Now, I’m no Obama fan, but he is smart! And Republicans had better smarten up fast!

When I do vote for the candidate of my choice it will be because I believe that individual has: (1) personal integrity, (2) the ability and experience to lead this great nation, (3) an obvious desire to uphold America’s unique cultural heritage and sovereignty, and (4) the personal will to protect and defend our American constitution against all enemies both foreign and domestic.

The freedom to practice the religion of one’s own choice is protected by the Constitution. That’s what makes America great. It’s also what makes America ultimately vulnerable to subversion from within.

America has a multitude of religions and sects. Most are harmless enough and fit well within America’s multi-religious landscape. Others are questionable. What happens if any religion is inimical to America’s root cultural values and to our very constitution? Apparently our founding fathers didn’t have the foresight to envision such a time in our history.( See Why America Must Define Religion

There should be no room for religious bigotry in a national election. But of course there is. This entire rancor over religion is because we are living in a time of tyranny by the few against the will of the majority. Somehow America must find a way to protect the rights of the few without allowing the few to dictate wide cultural changes to the majority of Americans.

Obviously all Americans have the right to question their candidates about personal values born of their various religious backgrounds. But Americans don’t have the right to destroy an individual, or whole groups of people, because of differing personal faiths.

Now it is true that the great majority of Americans are Christians and our Judeo-Christian values gave birth to this great nation. The left can deny it all they want but it is a fact. Traditional Christians do tend to believe that they are the standard bearers of America’s traditional cultural values – values that we are in great jeopardy of losing. So it’s easy to see how some very zealous Christians fall into the trap of evil demagoguery – the same bigotry that led to the rise of Hitler in Germany. This is what the left fears from the right and rightly so!!!

We Americans are asking our presidential candidates to share their religious backgrounds with us so that we can determine the extent to which that religion supports or hinders their ability to lead all Americans regardless of our differing faith perspectives. What we are asking of our candidates we must ask of ourselves. Does our faith support our ability to safeguard the freedoms of those Americans who don’t share our particular faith perspective?

Christians, let’s stop for a few days this Christmas season to pray and to ponder the meaning of Luke 2:14.

Give Sears and K-Mart a Holiday They Won’t Soon Forget

The attack on Christmas continues. According to the Liberty Council Alert of December 5, 2007, “K-Mart and Sears have intentionally renamed “Christmas trees” to “holiday trees” or simply “trees” in its advertising. K-Mart is owned by Sears Holding Corporation.”

Call them and then boycott them! The Sears Holding Corporation telephone number is 847-286-2500. President and CEO Aylwin Lewis should know that his “holiday trees” are offensive to shoppers who celebrate Christmas.

My husband just called and had a nice long “discussion” with them. They don’t want to offend their diverse customers. He told them that they are now offending their largest customer base – Christians!!!

K-Mart and Sears have intentionally renamed “Christmas trees” to “holiday trees” or simply “trees” in its advertising. K-Mart is owned by Sears Holding Corporation.

A Liberty Counsel supporter asked K-Mart for an explanation of the company’s disregard for Christmas. Vincent V., a representative from Sears Holding Corporation, responded:

The reason for our use of holiday tree is due to the [sic] Sears Holding is a very diverse company, we do not want to offend any of our associates, but also our valued customers. We decided to call them holiday trees because even if Christians are the only religion that uses a Christmas tree we still do not want complaints from other customers of different religions complaining about our use of Christmas.

What? Christmas is a federal holiday. Green, pointed, prickly trees we decorate in December are called “Christmas trees” all around the world. In the process of trying to be “diverse” and to allegedly not offend their associates or customers, Sears and K-Mart have offended their largest customer base – Christians and others who celebrate Christmas. Even the minority who do not celebrate Christmas are not offended by its celebration by others. However, Sears and K-Mart have offended their customers. Those stores are not the only choices consumers have this Christmas. In 2005, Sears received so much pressure from consumers in the midst of the Christmas shopping season that it reprinted its ads to include Christmas and rushed “Merry Christmas” signs to all of its retail outlets. Apparently, the disease of political correctness has once again infected Sears and K-Mart.

Mathew D. Staver, Founder of Liberty Counsel and Dean of Liberty University School of Law, commented: “It borders on the absurd to remove the word ‘Christmas’ from a ‘Christmas tree.’ Sears and K-Mart have offended their customer base by thinking they can profit from Christmas while pretending it does not exist. The best thing for consumers to do this Christmas season is to act as if Sears and K-Mart do not exist and instead patronize their competitors.”

Your Mainline Christmas Sermon: Immigration and Social Justice

In a letter to members it was pointed out by Roy Beck, Executive Director of NumbersUSA Education & Research Foundation, and recipient of the first United Methodist Communicator of the Year award as Associate Editor of the United Methodist Reporter, that many religious leaders will use their microphones and pulpits to advocate for open borders and for the “rights” of illegal immigrants, “to decry the raids and to equate illegal aliens with Mary and Joseph and their newborn babe.”

It is a shame that the religious leadership would not be standing beside us and against outlaw businesses' efforts drive down the incomes of working-class Americans and their families. But to have so many standing on the side of the economic oppressors is truly disheartening.

I completely concur with Beck’s statements. I know well of what he speaks. I earned my Masters in Theology from a highly esteemed liberal Protestant seminary not long ago. Every attempt to indoctrinate me in the ways of socialistic-style social justice failed miserably. Fortunately, I already had a strong background in traditional Christian theology, an understanding of what it means to be an American, and enough years of experience not to be easily intimidated.

Before I entered the seminary, I was somewhat politically naive. That changed rapidly as I learned that theology and politics are intimately linked. For years mainline seminaries have functioned as the religious arm of the far left progressives. Admission of any conservative political bent is literally the kiss of death. No doubt there are many closet conservative professors who would not long survive if their personal politics were known. Students hoping for plumb assignments following ordination are well-aware of which sides their daily bread is buttered.

Just as few Americans are very much aware of the growing influence of Islamofascism on American politics, even fewer Americans are aware of the Marxist trends (born of Liberation Theology) that are fast overcoming mainline denominations and informing new ministers in mainline Protestantism! Catholics and Evangelicals are not immune to this growing trend either.

Here’s an excerpt:

But Mr. Ufford-Chase’s approach to handling the illegal immigration problem in this country displays the huge blind-side that most mainline church national leaders have on the immigration issue by promoting the idea that illegal immigration is a victimless crime. While focusing on poor people in other countries who wish to break the law to get into this one, he ignores poor people and lower-middle-class people in this country for whom immigration laws are most clearly designed. The Supreme Court in the past has ruled that the chief reason for our immigration laws is to protect workers. Mr. Ufford-Chase does mention the issue of job displacement and quickly dismisses it. And then he brings up the issue of wage depression and speaks admiringly of Fed Chairman Greenspan’s suggestion that we should have high immigration in order to hold down wages. I frankly am amazed to see Mr. Ufford-Chase think that is a worthy aim. . .

In covering and commenting on the immigration issue, you should at the least consider that in the last public act of her illustrious life of public service, Barbara Jordan led a bi-partisan national commission that concluded that illegal immigration should be eliminated to the extent possible and that legal immigration should be dramatically reduced in numbers. The reason, Jordan said, was that the numerical level of immigration is so high that it serves as a tool of economic injustice against the most vulnerable members of our community. (bold emphasis added)

Beck gives us all some good advice. Don’t let this kind of sermon go unchallenged! Speak to your minister, or if you feel too shy to speak directly, “write a short note and drop it in the offering plate or comments basket in the foyer.”

Bring it up as a discussion issue in Sunday school class!

One can search high and low to unearth a liberal with a patriotic, pro-America stance on illegal immigration. That search will usually be futile, but there is a notable exception.
The exception is an U.S. Senator who has shown remarkable wisdom, foresight, and clarity, especially for a Democrat. His office released the following statements (in bold) concerning illegal immigration:”

Cornyn (R-TX) will be well on his way to ramming through a bill to radically increase foreign workers in the tech, nursing, physical therapy, science and engineering fields . . . Tell your Senators to NOT let Cornyn's bill come up on the floor for any kind of discussion.”
Ask to speak to someone who handles immigration issues. Do NOT be long-winded. Keep it down to two or three sentences, something like: “I OPPOSE any increase to the H-1B program. The program is just used as cheap labor. Thank you.”

What’s in it for them?

Why on earth would American Jews be so soft on homeland security, illegal immigration, and terrorism to vote for the illegal/terrorist coddling Democrats? War on Christmas Continued

“University of Texas Chapter announced today that they will be displaying an “ACLU Nativity Scene” on the West Mall of the University of Texas campus on Monday and Tuesday, December 4th and 5th. The group’s intent is to raise awareness on the extremity of the ACLU, and bring to light its secular-progressive efforts to remove Christmas from the public sphere. The display, the first of its kind in the nation, will feature characters that are quite a bit different than the standard crèche . . .”
