Dallas CBS Affiliate Buries Negative Jeremiah Wright News

Update May 1st

Those of us who have written to Dallas CBS have received the identical e-mail response"

"Thanks for your e-mail regarding the Reverend Jeremiah Wright story you saw on CBS11 News last night at 10 p.m. I want to clarify the story. Reverend Wright was in Dallas on Sunday conducting services at Friendship West Baptist Church. Our story last night involved negative comments made by Reverend Wright about Texas Christian University during a speech at the church. Upon further review of the tape of the speech, we were mistaken. We regret the error and offer our sincere apologies to Reverend Wright, Friendship West Baptist Church, TCU and our viewers. We will air a correction in tonight's 10 p.m. newscast. Thanks again for your e-mail and for watching CBS11 News.Scott DienerNews DirectorCBS11/TXA21Dallas/Fort Worth"

You can buy that explanation if you like. One of our readers at Jus' Sayin' was kind enough to run down the sponsors for the 10 PM news just in case you want to write to complain.
Here are the sponsors that I listed from the News .

Local: Rooms to Go, Trophy Nissan, Central Kia, Stanley Steamer, Keller CitizensVan, Hyundai

National Ads For Regional release: KIA, Scholtzskys, N Texas Ford Dealer, GMC NTGMC (that would be Wood as the largest) Target, Circuit City, Toyota Trucks, Ross

Frankly folks, the so-called MSM is pretty irresponsible to publish or broadcast any story without checking out the facts first. Then to yank the original story is just plain cowardly. How's about leaving the original story in tack on your web page and then broadcasting a "correction" and publishing a retraction instead?

See Original Story Below:

Twelve hours ago CBS 11, Dallas, Texas published an article:
Obama's Former Pastor Calls TCU A Godless College.” If you click on the link, however, you will find that the page has suddenly been removed.

It would appear that although most of the national news media and pundits both left and right have labeled Wright’s latest comments as egocentric and harmful to Obama, CBS 11 Dallas has chosen sides and Wright has won this battle - at least in Dallas. This is not a good omen for Obama!

This is the Google News Alert I received this morning:

Obama's Former Pastor Calls TCU A Godless CollegeCBS 11 - Dallas,TX,USA"He's upset that Brite Divinity School and TCU didn't support everything that he said," said TCU sophomore Tory McGee. "It's a decision that TCU made and it ...See all stories on this topic

Because CBS 11 Dallas is at the home of much of the controversy, we are left to surmise what Wright actually said about TCU. Here’s an excerpt from my March 19th post, Brite Divinity School to Honor Rev. Jeremiah Wright

“TCU Chancellor Victor J. Boschini Jr. said Monday that "TCU supports the right of free speech even when the opinions expressed are controversial. That is what a university is about. But giving an award is another matter, and in this specific case in light of Reverend Wright's recently discovered remarks, TCU would not give such an award . . .”

Would you like to read what Jeremiah Wright actually said about TCU??? Write to CBS 11 and demand that they replace the article that they removed.

Digg It!

  1. I've sent an email. Not that they'll care, but I couldn't let it pass!

  2. I followed the link (http://cbs11tv.com/religion/rev.Jeremiah.Wright.2.710837.html) in your post and recieved a "page not found" error. You think they've removed the story based on responses received to date? More revisionism in the works?

Haven't trusted anything with CBS attached since "Uncle Walter" lied about the Vietnam War, and the CBS channel has been blocked on our TVs since 2004's Rathergate, so I wouldn't be surprised by such an action by a local CBS station.

  5. Oh, yes, I did send an e-mail and in that e-mail I just happened to mention the fact that if the story is not reinstated then perhaps their sponsors (you know the car dealers and such who sponsor their "news") will be feeling when they are flooded with e-mails demanding they withdraw or we will not spend out money with them. Hmmmm. Makes it a bit more interesting when you start getting into their pocket book rather than trying to appeal to their "honesty". The day the LSM shows any honesty is the day pigs will fly and gasoline will be .17 a gallon.

  7. Most people living in the Dallas area know that Channel 11 is the "goofy news". They are so liberal they are funny. I never watch it for anything resembling factual information. BTW, I hope TCU's liberal professors learned an interesting lesson about harboring a wolf to their home. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you, Rev. Wrong did a number on them. What I would like to know is who died and made him king? Or even Rev. King?

  8. I saw on Fox News that Northwestern University has changed it's mind about giving Rev. Jeremiah Wright an Honorary Degree.
