One week out: The case against President Barack Obama’s re-election

Commentary by James H. Shott

Four years ago the left was filled with optimism and poised to win the presidential election. The Democrats had nominated the first African-American candidate for President of the United States, and millions were spellbound, and buoyed by his message of hope and change.

During his acceptance speech at the Democrat Convention, Barack Obama said, “we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal; this was the moment when we ended a war and secured our nation and restored our image as the last, best hope on Earth.” The crowd went wild.

And it was about time we did those things. We had never cared for the sick before or provided jobs to the jobless. Or ended wars or been the last, best hope on Earth before.

In a campaign amazingly light on detail and substance, a dreadfully inexperienced Barack Obama won the election.

When he assumed office the country was in the midst of a recession, one President Obama frequently refers to as “The Great Recession.” As time passed and things didn’t improve as promised, this title has become a tool to make the downturn seem worse than it was to excuse his dismal performance on the nation’s crushing economic problems. Data show that other recessions were worse in one or more aspects than this recession, and while significant, the 2008 recession does not rate the honorific the president bestowed on it.

What does deserve our attention is the non-existent Obama recovery, which still has not taken hold 56 months after the recession began.

President Obama claims 5 million new jobs have been created during his term, but for the 37 weeks of 2012 through Sept. 15 the weekly new unemployment insurance claims average roughly 374,000, a total that dwarfs 5 million new jobs in just 37 weeks.

The U-6 unemployment rate stands at 14.6 percent as of September 30, and includes the unemployed, under-employed and those who have given up looking for work, a total of 22.6 million people.

Mr. Obama increased the national debt from $10.6 trillion on Jan. 20, 2009 by 51 percent, or $5.4 trillion, through a failed stimulus and a government spending spree. Despite spending all that borrowed money, since Q3 2009 GDP has averaged only 2.17 percent, substantially lower than the 3.25 percent average GDP through expansions and contractions since 1947.

Median household income has declined by 7.3 percent, and last year the Census Bureau reported more Americans in poverty than ever before in the more than 50 years that it has tracked poverty. Ironically, the group that has suffered the most during the Obama presidency has been black Americans, whose real incomes have fallen by more than 11 percent.

Had Mr. Obama set out immediately to address joblessness, and championed policies to spur the economy we would be far better off than we are. Instead, he wasted two years getting a bill passed to revamp the nation’s healthcare system, against the will of 60 percent of the people he serves.

Yet, the president does not regret wasting two years on Obamacare instead of focusing on the economy. In an interview with the Des Moines Register Mr. Obama said he had no regrets that he didn’t focus on the nation’s most pressing issue. “Absolutely not,” he said.

The dismal economic performance affects us all; however, the most remarkable failure is the scandalous behavior of the Obama administration before and after the terrorist attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, where during a seven-hour attack four Americans were murdered. There was a reduced level of security before the attack, despite numerous requests to maintain the higher levels and even increase those levels because of recent attacks on U.S. facilities and mounting levels of violence.

Requests for help during the attack, including requests from personnel stationed nearby who wanted to help were denied. And worst of all, adequate answers to the many legitimate questions about what actually happened still have not been provided fully seven weeks after the attack. It is difficult to avoid assigning political motives to this behavior, which appears at this point as a clumsy cover-up to get through the election.

Add to this the Fast and Furious gun-running debacle, the ridiculous job-killing ban on drilling for our own oil on federal lands, and the war on coal killing thousands of coal jobs and thousands more in related industries like power plants, railroads and support businesses, and there simply is no reason to give this man more time to wreck the economy.

Barack Obama is not the god-like figure his fawning fans believe him to be, but a very average man who allowed the nation to continue to suffer while he pursued his ill-advised ideological goals.

On the campaign trail he now says, “I want your vote for what I’m going to do.” But we’ve heard that one before, and we can’t afford to fall for it again.

Obama plays both sides of the Benghazi issue, and loses

Commentary by James Shott

The terrorists in Benghazi, Libya who attacked our consulate last month on the anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks and killed four American Foreign Service personnel have highlighted in tragic detail how deeply naïve President Barack Obama’s idea of foreign policy is.

His manic effort to deny the existence of Muslim terrorism to avoid offending Muslims confounds those of us grounded in reality. He put an end to the “war on terror,” and in its place we now have “Overseas Contingency Operations.” When a Muslim U.S. Army doctor screamed “Allahu Akbar” as he mowed down 13 of his fellow soldiers, Mr. Obama’s administration prefers to call it “workplace violence.”

With that background it is no wonder that Mr. Obama and his disciples inside and outside of the administration twisted themselves into illogical knots to avoid admitting what was obvious to most people: that it was a planned terrorist attack.

However, Mr. Obama tried desperately to claim the opposite during the second presidential debate, declaring that he identified the attack as a terrorist act the next day in a Rose Garden statement, and moderator Candy Crowley inappropriately backed him up on it. But the facts do not support Ms. Crowley or Mr. Obama.

The President made a five and one-half minute statement consisting of 801 words. Several times he used descriptive language, such as:
  • “… four of these extraordinary Americans were killed in an attack on our diplomatic post in Benghazi.”
  • “The United States condemns in the strongest terms this outrageous and shocking attack.”
  • “ … we will work with the Libyan government to bring to justice the killers who attacked our people”
  • “The world must stand together to unequivocally reject these brutal acts.”
Notice that he did not say “terror,” “terrorism,” “terrorist” or “terrorist attack,” and he did not utter any such word in the first three-fourths of the statement.

About three and one-half minutes into the statement Mr. Obama referenced the 9-11-2001 attacks: “Of course, yesterday was already a painful day for our nation as we marked the solemn memory of the 9/11 attacks.” Still, there was no reference to terrorism.

And then, four minutes and 15 seconds into the five and one-half-minute statement, and 618 words into the 801 words of the text, he spoke the words “No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation …” That oblique reference – plural, not singular – was the only time the concept of terrorism entered into Mr. Obama’s text. Right after that he said: “We will not waver in our commitment to see that justice is done for this terrible act.” “Terrible,” but not “terrorist.”

If he truly wanted the nation to understand that he thought terrorists killed those four Americans, he deftly disguised the message.

As if to prove the assertion that he didn’t “really” call the attack an act of terror, for the next two weeks members of the administration – including Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice, Press Secretary Jay Carney and President Obama himself (who mentioned it again and again at a speech to the United Nations on September 25th) – repeatedly blamed the attack on a violent protest in reaction to an anti-Islam video produced by an American. Yes, an American; that “shadowy character” who created a video about Islam was the cause of the Benghazi attack.

The administration offered the video as the only cause of the violence for days on end, despite the common sense reaction that people don’t show up with RPGs and mortars at a spontaneous protest, even in places occupied by radical Muslims.

Was there a protest prior to the terrorist attack, or wasn’t there? It really doesn’t matter. What matters is that the security provided to our people in Libya was dismally inadequate. There were eight attacks in Libya in a 6-month period, one on a British convoy and another on the Red Cross facility, causing both the Brits and the Red Cross to leave Libya because of the growing level of violence. And in June, there was an attack on the American Embassy in Tripoli.

U.S. personnel in Libya knew danger was mounting and practically begged for increased security measures. But Mr. Obama is fond of boasting that “Al Qaeda is on the run and Osama bin Laden is dead,” and mounting violence in Libya really doesn’t fit into that narrative. Al Qaeda is still alive and well, and Barack Obama’s dream of a “New Dawn in the Middle East” has proved to be a nightmare. Putting the “Dream” ahead of protecting Americans at home and abroad, the administration declined those requests for help, and now four brave Americans are dead.

Extremists in the Middle East may make it impossible for that long-troubled region to ever become a peaceful place, and perhaps no president can change that. But a position of strength on the part of the United States best serves the interests of peace and stability. We don’t have that in President Obama’s America, where foreign policy focuses on offering apology and appeasement. Leading from behind just doesn’t cut it.

This One’s For The Ladies…..

By: J Robert Giles

“It’s hard to look for the light when you’re lost in the darkness.”  - Anonymous

Abuse

All she ever wanted was a better life than the one she lived as a child. She wanted a life far from the impoverished surroundings of her youth. Her parents shielded her as best they could but eventually, a curious child will break through even the strongest parental defenses. Despite the hard work of her parents, their limited income forced them into worlds where dreams are not often fulfilled.

Her parents had done their very best to provide a life of joy. They made ends meet with their extremely limited resources. They stretched and sacrificed more than her insulated mind could possibly have known at the time. Still, her dreams were of luxury and contentment. Dreams that often invade the mind of a young girl.

Finally, a man comes into her life and manages to sweep her off her feet. Their relationship moves quickly and before she has a chance to blink, that wide-eyed country girl is now a city-living housewife. Years pass by. She gives him two children but feels completely alone in raising them. The hero, as she had seen him in the infancy of their relationship is more stereotypical than original. He views her as his possession. He views her as his servant.

She sacrifices the loving respect she deserved for the life she told her friends back home she was getting. In exchange, she is given the privilege of living in his house. She is given the privilege of raising his children. She is forever in his debt. She relies on him far more than he relies on her and he never misses a chance to direct attention to this fact.

In public settings, he belittles her. He forbids her from seeing friends he deems “beneath” him. Her time with her own family is limited to hurried visits at holidays or birthdays; no more. The friends she used to rely on for humor, encouragement, and support worry when she starts to have more and more “accidents.”

The injuries from these so called accidents seem to be limited to the torso area. There’s never any visible bruising but the effects are apparent in her labored movement, breathing, and eye contact. The once confident smile that separated her from the crowd is now replaced with a solemn, glazed stare and a forced grin. Her vibrant, blue eyes now absorb light rather than twinkle as they did in the innocence of her youth. So obvious is the abuse, yet the hero goes unpunished.

The hero is admired by many. He’s the one all the neighbors will eventually tell a reporter about. They’ll describe him as “the nicest guy in the world.” Each one of them has seen the signs, but his charm and her ability to act as if her life is perfect keep suspicions to a dull, private roar. Human instinct forbids them from intervening. It’s easier to convince oneself that violence and abuse only happen in “other” neighborhoods than it is to help pick up the pieces of a confrontation. It’s one of those generally accepted cul-de-sac rumors…..no real proof. No one’s ever actually seen him hit her, but they all kind of accept the fact with quiet shame.

Then it happens…..he snaps. One of his outbursts spills out into the street where he drags her by the hair, screaming and kicking out into the yard. Their children are screaming for him to stop but his grip doesn’t loosen a bit. Her lip is bleeding and his rage is visible from a thousand feet. She’s screaming in terror…..begging him to please “stop.”

“I’ll do whatever you want…..please stop!”

Lights begin to illuminate the windows of neighbor’s homes. His rage subsides just long enough to let him know that his surroundings are not necessarily friendly. He notices his children crying. He hears the scream of approaching sirens and he reluctantly releases his grip on her hair.

YOU are one of the neighbors. What do you do? Do you support him as he begins his campaign to claim his innocence? Do you believe the stories and excuses he comes up with? Do you go along with the ridiculous reasons he uses to justify his actions?

Or…..do you stand up and support the woman who desperately needs a real hero? She’s in too deep. She can’t leave on her own because he’s got her too terrified to do so. He’s convinced her that she won’t survive without him. She’s a completely dependent victim. The damage he has done goes well beyond the visible bruises. They’re emotional and they are not yours to judge. Does she have to die before you take action? The cul-de-sac rumors are true and you are now faced with the decision to help the woman in need or support the abusive charmer. Which will it be?

That’s exactly where we stand as a country. When I hear numbers like 53-41 in favor of President Obama, it makes me sick. I’m talking about the polls which suggest such a staggering lead for Obama when it comes to female voters. It’s like the abused wife who’s too scared to defy the orders of her power hungry, uber-charming, abusive husband.

The women who blindly cling to Obama’s unfulfilled promises cannot possibly represent the margin the polls suggest. Ladies, get out there and spread the facts. Barack Obama does not love you as he claims…..he uses you for political gain. He doesn’t connect with you as he so eloquently states in his numerous daily campaign stops. Barack Hussein Obama is an abusive husband and the women of America are his trophy wives. He’s abusing each and every one of you but apparently, according to recent polls; only 41% of you have the courage to stand up for yourselves. Those of you who can honestly claim membership in that paltry percentage; you are to be commended.

Those of you who hide behind the costly shade of Obama’s charm, popularity, and hype…..we’re here to help. Just because we don’t believe the United States government should be funding abortions with our money, doesn’t mean we hate women. The fact that we don’t believe Sandra Fluke’s friend spent $3,000 per month on contraception does not make us extremists. The fact that we don’t believe Obama has the right to force a church to abandon it’s own beliefs does not make us zealots.

Barack Hussein Obama voted for legislation that would prevent a doctor from providing medical assistance to a fetus who managed to survive a late term abortion. He was the ONLY senator to vote that way. Yet we are considered to be the extremists in this situation?

That’s disgusting. That kind of mentality has absolutely no place running our country. That kind of thinking has absolutely no right to have any influence on the lives of my daughters. It’s time to break free from the chains of hype and take a stand. Women of America…..unite. There are plenty of real men out here who stand ready to fight alongside you. Not for you. Not against you. With you.

Michelle Obama is Barack’s incessantly mentioned example of what a “strong” woman should be. Do you agree? What has she done with the office she holds? Has she brought honor or shame to her role as First Lady of the United States? Having your picture taken with a shopping cart full of groceries in the local Target does not make you relate to the struggles of the single mother fighting for the survival of her family. Michelle Obama’s daughters will never know the fears and struggles faced by the women to which she claims to relate. Her world is insulated, pampered, and free. It is nothing like the world inhabited by the women I know and respect. (If you’re reading this, you’re one of them!)

Mitt Romney is Pro-Life and he believes abortion should be limited only to cases of rape or incest. In 2007, during a debate, Romney stated that he would “welcome a consensus that said we don’t want to have abortion in this country at all, period.” Despite the great manipulation skills of His Barackness, that does not mean that Romney is campaigning on a “promise to end all abortions.” Obama’s charm can’t grow old with you. His charm can’t provide the real protection, support, encouragement, and camaraderie you need. His love is for himself, not the vows he has taken to be true to you.

Obama is using you. He’s using you and we don’t want to wait until you’re lying naked in the yard with a busted lip and horrified children to take action. If you’re ready to flee his abusive rule, we’re here with open arms, impenetrable shields, and genuine respect. Welcome.

As always, thanks for playing.

President Obama’s policies failing to revive the American economy

Commentary By James H. Shott

More important than the lofty generalities candidate Barack Obama fed his fans about healing the planet, slowing the rise of the oceans, ending political divisions in America, and ushering in an era of hope and change, as President he and his administration gave Americans strong assurances of better things to come.

He promised to create five million new jobs just in the energy sector, and in promoting the $767 billion stimulus plan his economic advisors Christina Romer and Jared Bernstein predicted unemployment would not rise above 8 percent. In the first year of his presidency, Mr. Obama pledged to “cut the deficit we inherited in half by the end of my first term in office,” to “lift two million Americans from poverty,” and “jolt our economy back to life.”

The President told NBC’s Matt Lauer January of 2009, “If I don't have this done in three years, then there's gonna be a one-term proposition.”

Last week’s July jobs numbers show continued misery across the nation, again calling attention to Mr. Obama’s failure to deliver on his economic pledges. Since he didn’t “have this done in three years,” why is he running for re-election?

The unemployment rate ticked up to 8.3 percent, far above the 5.6 percent rate that his economic team predicted for July 2012 if Congress passed the $767 billion stimulus plan.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) report for July showed that 195,000 fewer people were working in the U.S. than in June. Further, the BLS figures showed that 150,000 more people became discouraged and dropped out of the labor force.

Nevertheless, Mr. Obama struggled to put a positive spin on these dismal numbers, boasting, “we tried our plan — and it worked.”

Really? Let’s review the results: Forty-two straight months of unemployment above 8 percent; 8.2 million people working part-time who want full-time work; a record 88 million Americans who are not in the labor force; 1.9 percent GDP growth in the past quarter; $5 trillion in new debt; the downgrading of the U.S. credit rating; 38 percent of Americans living paycheck to paycheck; 45 million Americans on food stamps; food prices continuing to increase dramatically; and the poverty level likely to rise to the highest level in nearly fifty years.

If this is what a successful Obama economic policy looks like, let’s go back to the Bush years, where those “top-down” economic policies Mr. Obama so loves to hate created 52 straight months of job creation, and an unemployment rate that never exceeded 6.3 percent following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, despite the attending chaos they caused. Oh, for the good old days.

The continued poor economy and dismal jobs pictures since he won the office he so aggressively sought are precisely what would we should expect from Mr. Obama’s big spending economic philosophy.

On the campaign trail, he said, “You grow an economy from the middle out, and from the bottom up. …When middle-class families have money in their pockets, they go out and buy that new car or that new appliance or the new computer for their kids or they go out to a restaurant – heaven forbid they take a vacation once in a while – and that money goes back into the economy and businesses do well because they’ve got more customers.” That same example applies to wealthy Americans.

The example supports leaving more money in the private economy, which is a point in favor of low income taxes for all. However, it omits a critical element: Before mom and dad can buy a new car or even a toaster, at least one of them has to have a job.

However, if they work in the coal industry or the space industry, or in a related business, thanks to the Obama administration there’s a good chance they either don’t have a job, or soon will lose it.

At a time of dangerously high unemployment, Mr. Obama’s jobs program focuses not on creating jobs, but on killing jobs. The coal industry is dying – or rather is being executed – as extreme air quality goals imposed by the Environmental Protection Agency force coal-fired generators to shut down, meaning consumers could see their electricity bills jump an estimated 40 to 60 percent in the next few years. The decreased demand for American coal shuts down mining and related companies, putting more people on the unemployment line.
His policies have produced high unemployment in Brevard County, Florida, the home of the Kennedy Space Center, which peaked in double digits, but now is about nine percent. That is somewhat lower than it otherwise would be because space industry workers had to leave the County to try to find work after the President scrapped the second manned moon mission in 2010.

In the grand scheme of things the jobs lost in the space and coal industries and in supporting businesses may be only a fraction of the total. But Mr. Obama should be held to account for policies that deliberately kill jobs in a time of already high unemployment.

This callous disregard for American jobs is not among the characteristics that voters should expect to find in their president.

The Victory Celebration That Was Neither…..

By: J Robert Giles

@JRobertGiles

“As our enemies have found we can reason like men, so now let us show them we can fight like men also.”  - Thomas Jefferson

ObamaShattered-296x300

Every fiber of my being tells me I should be furious right now, but quite frankly; fury is not the emotion that comes to mind. Of course I’m never happy when His Barackness is given reason to celebrate but my general mood simply doesn’t match the level of fear I’ve held in anticipation of this day for the last two months. Maybe it’s the fact that I just returned home from a wonderful vacation with my entire family, or maybe it’s the fact that Obama’s celebration, as is the case with so much of his presidency, seems cheap and insincere. It’s as if he knows this victory is not really a victory.

The overall response to the Supreme Court’s decision today is confusion. I do not appear to be alone in my bewilderment. Those of us who had prepared for anger and revolution in response to the ruling we were handed this morning find ourselves in possession of contradictory emotions. We know at our core that ObamaCare is a bad thing. We are intelligent enough to know that the sight of a celebrating Obama is never a good thing. We’ve been conditioned to know that Obama’s celebrations usually mean devastation and misery for those of us on whose behalf he claims victory. A perfect example of this would be the arrogance with which Obama said in response to the SCOTUS ruling that “…now is the time to keep our focus on the most urgent issue of our time….putting people back to work…..” Apparently His Barackness believes the Catholic Church was bluffing in their promise to close all Catholic Hospitals in this country if forced to obey an “unjust law.” Apparently, Obama defines victory for the 765,894 employees of those hospitals as entry into the community of victimization known as unemployment. Those people, in Obama’s mind, must suffer for their insubordination and stubborn indignation in their opposition to his brilliance. Three quarters of a million people out of work is a mere grain of sand on a beach compared to the number of jobs companies will be forced to scrap in order to pay for this bill. But who really won today? Did Obama really win as his openly displayed arrogance would seem to suggest. The answer is an emphatic “NO!”

Obama did not win. Don’t be fooled. Don’t be hoodwinked any more. Don’t let the celebrity laden celebrations fool you. Don’t let the reaction of hospital administrators fool you either. Their celebration is strictly financial and has absolutely nothing to do with the healthcare YOU will receive in the future. The only celebration to be found in the executive levels of major hospitals today is the hope that they will soon be recouping millions of dollars in previously “uncompensated care.” The flood of “newly insured” patients clogging the arteries of our nation’s healthcare facilities is the elephant in the room. It’s a topic almost impossible to discuss without shades of racism but it’s a certain future. Despite the liberal pleasing agony that is sure to come, it’s still not a victory for Obama.

Today’s ruling is not a victory for Obama in the fact that this whole hearing and ensuing speculation has revealed that it is wildly unpopular among voters. It will be very hard for Obama to win on a campaign of “I passed the biggest tax increase in American history.” It will be very difficult for Obama to win in November after what is sure to be four solid months of logical dissent. People who are currently cheering the ruling are doing so because they don’t understand its impact. Four months is a long time to educate those people. By saying it was “definitely not a tax” in the beginning but then pitching the law as a “tax” to the Supreme Court, liberal lawyers won the battle but lost the war. They handed over the White House to Mitt Romney. Plain and simple. Obama swore there would be “no tax increases” during his presidency and he has now championed the largest in history. His “victory” has exposed him as a liar once more. The fact that he did not use the word “tax” one single time in his response to the ruling should tell you how much he fears the backlash. The fact that money is now pouring into the Romney campaign should tell you how America feels. This “victory” that Obama is celebrating today is like a football team celebrating a win in which every starter was injured. The American people do not want this law. Whether it’s a tax or not, it’s not what we want. Obama is publicly celebrating the fact that he’s exerting his will over all of us and it is going to come back and bite him in his lying ass in November.

Many of you are calling for the execution of Justice Roberts’ career today and at first glance I was right there with you. However, after reading his decision, it’s painfully obvious that Justice Roberts is playing for a much bigger victory than the one Obama’s insincerely celebrating today. Justice Roberts was expected to uphold the opinion of the party for whom he was appointed to represent in battles like this. People, he did just that. It’s not easy to see right now through the haze of anger and celebrating political foes, but Justice Roberts just gave Romney every piece of ammunition he will need to evict Obama and his insane ideology from the White House in November. Justice Roberts also forced the repeal battle back into Congress where it can be argued on a political stage. Advantage Republicans. The bill is likely to become even more unpopular as more and more people realize that it is in fact a tax as we’ve said all along. Clips of Obama lecturing his interviewers who dared to call the penalty for not having health insurance a “tax” will be played from now until November 6th and they will only serve to prove that this man is an incompetent, deceptive, liar. Those in Congress who choose to side with Obama during the inevitable Congressional repeal process will do so in public and at their own peril. Justice Roberts, while unpopular today, may have just delivered what we are all really asking for. He forced Obama to celebrate something that voters hate. He forced the Obamanites in Congress to publicly display their constituent crushing loyalty. This ruling, while unpopular on its surface is a good thing.

While we are all a little disappointed in the Supreme Court today, it must be pointed out that they did their job. The way the argument was presented to them during the hearings left them no choice but to uphold the law. The fact that the liberals swore it to be anything but a tax in 2009 bears no relevance in their decision. Their job was to evaluate the facts as they were presented to them. If we wanted the “tax” issue taken out of the argument, we should have hired better lawyers. We didn’t and now this is the battle we face. Luckily, Justice Roberts is in fact on our side and he has arranged for this battle to be fought on our home field. He has arranged for this battle to take place against the backdrop of a Congress that has failed to pass a budget even once during Obama’s presidency. He’s arranged for this battle to take place prior to the election, not after as Obama so desperately wanted. One way or another, the support Obama needs to truly “win” is going to be noticeably absent when called to action. Even more importantly, the gift of Justice Roberts’ decision will force fools like Pelosi, Rangel, and Reid to publicly execute themselves…..on the record…..for all the world to see. A repeal vote is coming before the Presidential election, folks. It could come as early as next month. How will the quivering little handbag Chihuahuas protect themselves and their careers without denouncing their golfing God? When asked to choose between their own political futures and Obama’s, who do you think they will choose?

Like I said in the beginning of this article, I know I should feel angry today, but I just don’t. Despite the celebrations of my opponents today, I feel victorious. I feel like the kid who gets the keys to his dream car on his fifteenth birthday. Can’t drive it yet. Have to watch as others enjoy the thrill of my gift but eventually, that car will be mine. Eventually, this country will be free from the insane ideology of Barack Hussein Obama and Justice Roberts deserves some of the credit for that glorious and rapidly approaching day.

As always, thanks for playing!

His Cover Is Blown…..

By: J Robert Giles

@JRobertGiles

“Anyone who doesn’t take truth seriously in small matters cannot be trusted in large ones either.”  - Albert Einstein

ObamaWeed

Trust in the media is becoming an ever more foolish investment, yet exposure to their prospectus is nearly impossible. The influence of those loyal to the dangerous ideology of liberalism is inescapable. To hear the depictions of the candidates in the 2012 Presidential Election, both forthright and subliminal, you would think that the incumbency of His Barackness is all but assured. He’s the hero. He’s the one who stepped in and rescued us from the abyss of George W. Bush, remember? He stepped in and heroically choked the life out of bin Laden’s terrorist hiney with his star spangled, bare hands. Remember? He’s the one who single handedly rescued our economy from the disaster left by his predecessor. Mitt Romney, by comparison, is portrayed as a drooling bag of idiocy whose ethics are as questionable as his right to stand in the same room with such genius as that possessed by Barack Obama. The truth, as is so often the case, lays gasping for air, battered, and bruised on the side of the trail, tossed from the moving vehicle of Obama’s campaign. Much like someone who dared to question the authority of a 1930’s style Chicago gang where Obama seems to have learned so much of his social grace.

In reality, Mitt Romney is just as intelligent as Barack Obama and he comes with the distinct advantage of being able to prove it by the very means Obama and his people have spent many years and millions of dollars to hide. See, we don’t know anything about the grades Barack Obama received at Harvard or any of the rest of his schooling. For some reason, that information has been carefully and skillfully purged from databases who always seem to have information about Republican candidates printed, and ready to ship. We know what degrees Obama earned because he tells us every chance he gets. Yet without providing proof of his own grades, the Obama campaign sees no problem with questioning Romney’s. Mitt Romney graduated from Brigham Young University with a 3.97 GPA. He then went on to earn simultaneous degrees in law and business from Harvard. That’s an amazing feat in and of itself, but when the stories of Romney’s leadership within the Harvard community are added to the mix…..it’s more impressive than anything in Obama’s shady past.

Obama and the media love to portray Romney as a greedy fat-cat who cares about nothing but money. They act as if acceptance into the circle of friends with which Romney is linked requires serious skeleton’s in the closet. Like there’s something inherently wrong with financial success. Does anyone out there think Obama would wait an entire heartbeat to accept if Romney offered all his money in exchange for the White House? The Obama family would set a trail of fire behind them as they blasted out of there with their big bags of cash. Michelle could finally be proud of her country again as she spends that greedy white-man’s money on the servants in her new tropical paradise. Again, apply logic to these insane accusations and they crumble quickly. Past friendships and relationships are the very last thing Obama should want to bring into this election but the media’s fascination with him assures that his own youthful friendships will not be closely examined. While Romney’s study group describes him as a natural leader who always demanded and personally summoned their very best during their Harvard years, Obama’s friends are known terrorists, extremists, and radical hate peddlers. While Romney abstained from the typical trappings of college life like alcohol, drugs, tobacco, and even caffeine; Obama partook in all. Mitt and Ann Romney still take time out of whatever they are doing to attend the dinner his Harvard study group still holds every few years. He even stopped in for a few hours on his way to Athens to clear the troubled Olympics in Salt Lake City in 2002. All speak of Romney as a dear friend, a devoted husband and father, and a natural leader. There is no psychotic gleam in their eye. There is no “bonded through lunacy” tone in their rhetoric. In fact, it’s not rhetoric at all. Obama dismisses his relationship with Bill Ayers as something we shouldn’t worry about. Instead, we should focus on the fact that Mitt Romney’s friends are rich. As we all know…..people who knowingly try to kill others with bombs and ideology are not nearly as dangerous as those who obtain personal wealth through sound business strategy and ethical living.

His Barackness and his subordinates seem to derive great pleasure from the act of twisting the truth. Obama bashes religion with every official act his administration pushes upon us. He preaches to us as if any interpretation of scripture that doesn’t support his intentions is foolishness interpreted by fools. He dismisses religious tradition and belief as crutches of the weak. In reality, Obama’s understanding of the Bible and its infinite wisdom are just about as accurate as his interpretation of the United States Constitution. Both are horribly twisted and made to accommodate lunatic levels of liberalism. Obama dismisses our concerns over his involvement with “Reverend” Jeremiah Wright as “unwarranted and conspiratorial.” For twenty years, Obama was an active member of the blatantly racist pastor’s black liberation theology church. Yet, in 2008, when the story first came to the surface, Obama’s church was said to be “off-limits” and like the good little puppet Obama told us he was, McCain obeyed and refused to run ads telling independent voters about Obama’s Wright connection. Silence is no longer an option. If Obama and his loyal subjects can attack Mormonism, then I have a few questions about Obama’s chameleon-esque religious beliefs. As I sit here guzzling coffee and cussing at each typo I make, it is painfully obvious that I am not a Mormon. That does not mean that I would abandon my Christian beliefs in the face of fear. Romney has upheld his incredibly strict beliefs and moral code in the face of what I am sure is unyielding pressure. Obama changes his mind to suit the ever shifting winds of public opinion. His Barackness will do his best to cast a shadow of doubt over Romney’s spiritual beliefs but his own are seemingly off-limits to us, the lowly public.

Obama asks us to consider whether Romney would have had the courage to “do what {Obama} did” with regard to Osama bin Laden. My answer is yes. Not only would he have had the courage, but he would have had the knowledge to think beyond the glory-grabbing headlines. Romney would have had the courage to praise the men who carried out the mission, not the men who watched the raid unfold on TV from the safety of another continent. Romney would have praised the methods of interrogation that brought forth the critical information leading to Jihadolf’s death, even if they were controversial and approved by political adversaries. Romney would have made sure that Dr. Shakil Afridi and his entire family were safe and out of Pakistan before the raid ever took place. Romney would never have left the man that risked his own life to provide America with the undeniable DNA proof of bin Laden’s location to rot in a Pakistani jail for 33 years. Obama’s failure to plan beyond the personal glory of the raid is horrible and will most likely cost the life of a man who should be heralded as an American hero. Now that there is no political value to be wrung from the Doctor’s involvement, he’s of no use to Obama. Besides, why would Obama share the glory? His blindly loyal subjects would not approve.

No more silence. No more bowing to the pressure of Obama’s self appointed power. His past is as scary as his present and neither can be allowed to live in the White House beyond January of 2013. Get this word out to the independents. They’re notoriously out of touch. They don’t pay attention to the news until just before the election and we need to get these ideas implanted in their heads much earlier than that. Get the truth out there. No matter what Obama and the media may say, Romney is NOT the one with the questionable past. Put that idea to bed. Otherwise, we’ll be fighting an uphill battle in late October against an enemy with superior weaponry. Please share the link to this article with as many people as possible. The differences in the candidates are not the differences being portrayed in the news.

As always, thanks for playing.

He’s No Shepherd…..

By: J Robert Giles

@JRobertGiles

“Democrats are not interested in free enterprise. They only care about free stuff.” - Herman Cain

Wolf

What is private equity? It’s a term that all the left leaning politicians seem to have received in some sort of weekly memo. They’ve been spewing the term all over the airwaves lately despite the fact that most have absolutely no clue whatsoever as to what they are saying. The level of ignorance is simply astonishing when compared to the recent disdain demanded of them by their fearless leader, His Barackness. Obama has smugly attacked Mitt Romney in recent weeks over his “questionable involvement” in private equity endeavors. It’s the same, tired rhetoric we’ve seen in the past, just dressed in different clothing. It’s the same tired rhetoric that served as a temporary distraction in the early days of the primary season, it’s just coming directly from Obama rather than from the mouths of his minions. Ask any liberal what “private equity” is and they will look at you like a dog trying to read. They have no clue, yet they know it’s bad because it has been painted as bad via every single information source they know to check. We know that such lunacy will fire up Obama’s base. Of course it will get the Occupy Wall Street types all fired up, but they’re all big bags of vinegar and water. Their opinions were formed long ago and without the aid of logic. The one’s being targeting with this mantra are the ones he believes too foolish to research, understand, or question such claims. In other words…..every, single, living, American. He views you all as sheep and himself as your shepherd.

Obama is insinuating that private equity is inherently evil. He’s attempting to paint Mitt Romney as one of those evil fat-cats that liberals love to hate so much. He’ll point to the people that were fired when Romney took over the reins at Bain. He’ll paint Romney as a greedy, heartless man who came in and fired everyone just to save a buck, but I beg of you to dig a little deeper into the story. First of all, private equity, in the most general definition I can summon, means a bunch of people putting their money together so that a targeted company can expand. They “invest” in a company they believe will return them a profit. They do this outside of the traditional stock exchanges not because they are sneaky or greedy or doing something behind the backs of those who oppose capitalism. Bain Capital, the company founded by Mitt Romney in 1984 and the central focus of Obama’s reelection campaign has aided the growth and expansion of more companies than Obama can probably name. AMC Entertainment, Brookstone, Burlington Coat Factory, Burger King, Clear Channel Communications, Domino’s Pizza, Dunkin Donuts, Guitar Center, The Sports Authority, Hospital Corporation of America (HCA), Sealy, Staples, Toys ‘R’ Us, Warner Music Group, The Weather Channel, and many other companies would no longer be in business or would be operating in a greatly reduced capacity without the investment capital provided by Bain. Think about the jobs those investments created. Think about the opportunity those investments have provided to the employees of those companies. Do you think the Obama loving, minimum wage satisfied, curmudgeon at Burger King in the shirt that may have fit in new employee orientation but is now stretched to its max has any idea that his job and all of those free French fries were made possible by the man Obama hopes to defeat? Such logic is exactly what allowed Obama to be elected in the first place. Such lack of logic is why polls show him in a dead heat with Romney now. Bleat bleat little sheep.

It’s not that hard to understand why Obama would come out against such notions as free enterprise. It goes against everything he and his catastrophic administration have stood for in the last four years. It goes against everything he has stood for since he was a confused child, unsure of which race to cling to. What is proving beyond difficult to understand is why Obama feels he has the right to paint Romney’s experience with a negative brush. America is hurting. Many of us are out of work, underemployed, or just generally unhappy about the financial future Obama has insured for us with his failed investments and extremist ideology. While Romney has proven beyond the shadow of a doubt that he knows how to create jobs, expand markets, and guide a budget, Obama has done NONE of those things. He has done none of those things but he expects you to believe that given another four years, he’ll turn it all around. He preys on your weakness. He preys on your inability to resist his charm. Those willing to charge straight at his incongruous assertions know perfectly well that Romney’s business experience is precisely what this country’s economy needs right now.

Private equity would have prevented such lunacy as Solyndra, Ener1, A123 Systems, the Chevy Volt, ObamaCare, and while we’re at it…..Jay Cutler. Not sure how Cutler fits in but he’s popular in Chicago; Obama loves Chicago; therefore I’m against it. In all seriousness, Obama’s adherence to a failed ideology is spreading decay to parts of this country where decay has no business. If private equity is viewed as anything but evil, then Obama’s crown loses a significant amount of luster. Private equity provides an efficient, proven alternative to Obama’s ideological, government knows best, investment style. Private equity means people are thinking for themselves instead of relying on government for their opinions. Private equity means a product is conceived, designed, and presented to a scrutinizing public who, if they believe the product to be worthy of investment, will support it with their money. They will do so of their own free will and they will accept the profits or losses generated from that decision but the decision will be theirs and theirs alone. Obama’s dreams are possible, but not under his leadership. In other words, we will one day drive cars that don’t require an ounce of gasoline but such innovation cannot be forced. It has to be run through the full gamut of public scrutiny.

Something tells me that Obama will realize on November 6, 2012 that he is the only sheep in a crowd of wolves. The supposed shepherd is about to realize he’s the one being herded. It’s up to you, America. Investing money is not a bad thing. It’s the very thing that has sustained America for many, many years. Investing becomes a bad thing only when it’s done with your money, behind your back. That is NOT private equity! So, are you going to be the sheep he thinks you are, or are you going to stand up as a wolf and take this country back? Are you going to follow the raised staff of the media and those loyal to His Barackness, or are you going to gather alongside the rest of the pack and attack with skilled precision?

As always, thanks for playing.

Back To The Future…..

By: J Robert Giles

@JRobertGiles

“I would like to think that with my election and the early decisions that we’ve made, that you’re starting to see some restoration of America’s standing in the world.”  - Barack Hussein Obama  (Reportedly said with a straight face.)

Obarter

They say that history repeats itself, but most of us consider ourselves too young to witness such a trend. Why is it that only the negative parts of our historical cycle like the decay of civilizations, war, bell-bottom jeans, and El Nino seem to gain our attention? There are positive events tangled into that repetition too. It’s not all fallen empires and catastrophic events, you know? I know in my heart that the Dallas Cowboys will win another Super Bowl before I draw my last breath. It’s just bound to happen sooner or later. How about this election cycle? Does it not have an undeniable feeling of déjà vu to it? How about the emotions surrounding this particular election?

Take the candidates out of the discussion. Just look at the emotions in the air. If you were alive in the late seventies, you’ll notice an uncanny resemblance to the world with which you are now surrounded. Iran is flexing its crazy muscle. Gas prices suck. Our president’s a buffoon. Liberals will no doubt point out all sorts of “facts” to say that this time is different. They’ll distance themselves from the historical failures of their ideology. They’ll do what they always do which is to rewrite history and paint themselves in a more favorable light. They’ll scoff at our mention of their failures. They’ll look down their noses at us as if we only view failure in their actions because we are too simple to understand their brilliance. They’ll quickly find another victim to cling to and together they’ll reject reality like children. Everything is someone else’s fault. Blame is like sex to liberals. They can’t get enough it.

America felt the same way in the seventies. We were still healing as a country from the wounds of war, a presidential assassination, and the stench of hippies. We were ready for some positive energy. I’m not talking about anything related to crystals, but actual positive energy. We knew we were great. We knew America could do better than the reputation our actions had earned us around the planet. Reagan was elected President and our country seemed to bounce back. Mention of Reagan’s name seems to be a lightning rod for criticism lately because liberals do NOT want us drawing that emotional comparison. They do not want us to draw the correlation between the complete and resolute abandonment of liberal ideology and the success of America in the early eighties. They’ll rewrite history to make the eighties seem like a miserable time to be an American, but if that were true then such cinematic greats as Hot Tub Time Machine would never have been written. Think about it. Try as they might, the facts are just too real to ignore.

We’re standing on that precipice once more. There’s no way to ignore the fact that America feels like it’s gotten it’s butt kicked repeatedly over the last four years. In some way, every single American has suffered a loss under Obama’s leadership. Even more unfortunate is the fact that the heaviest damage done under His Barackness has been leveled against Americans who won’t be born for at least another generation. Liberals love to call themselves “progressives” but what exactly are we allowing them to define as progress? Do we really want to “progress” any further toward a liberal’s idea of utopia where competition is frowned upon, work ethic is viewed as a character flaw, and prayer is considered a crutch for the weak? Is that the world we want to deliver to our great grandchildren? These actions that we keep ignoring…..they’re not going to just go away. This debt that we keep allowing our government to accumulate with no budget or plan to cut it off at any time in the future…..it will go unchecked until such time as America rolls up its sleeves and fights back. Liberals love to attack Reagan and talk about how he raised taxes eleven times during his presidency but what they fail to acknowledge is the overall morale boost his leadership gave to this country. What they fail to acknowledge is how great it was to be in America during the Reagan years. Liberals will blame propaganda, cocaine, and selective blindness for the boost in patriotism and pride but in reality it was the freedom to prove our greatness. It was the encouragement we felt to compete. It was the consuming drive to live up to our own goals. It was the belief that being an American was worthy of pride. When America felt like we had been kicked in our panhandles by the Carter years, Reagan was asked to take over. Liberals love to scoff at the comparison of Obama to Carter. Maybe they’re right…..Carter actually deserved his Nobel Prize, and he only accumulated a few hundred billion dollars in national debt. Carter must have been unaware of the free-for-all spending habits of Obama’s brand of liberalism. If only Obama had been an American at the time, maybe he could have enlightened Mr. Peanut. Carter led Reagan by 18% in ABC News-Harris Polls in May of 1980 but only won 6 states in November. Obama and Romney are neck and neck. I never imagined I would be uttering the following statement, but compared to Obama; Jimmy Carter is a bona fide badass. Think about that for a second, liberals…..the man who once screamed in terror because a rabbit was swimming toward his fishing boat is more manly than your current deity. Does that not concern you at all? Does that not bring the least bit of shame to your loyal little psyches? Carter stood up to the fodder from the swamp rabbit incident and acknowledged its humor. Would Obama have done the same thing? To be honest…..I now agree with the liberals who scoff at the comparison of Jimmy Carter to Barack Obama but I do so for very different reasons. I do so because such a comparison is unfair to President Carter.

In November of 1980, Ronald Reagan became President, but in the eight years of his Presidency America woke up. We gave unto the world such things as the personal computer, The McRib and its long forgotten cousin, the McDLT, and overt greed. Many lessons were learned and many pains endured, but no matter what anyone says, the eighties were a good time to be an American. No matter what anyone says, Obama is a horrible leader and he must be unelected. That’s not to say that Romney will be the next Reagan, but without him there may not be a next American President. That title will be appointed by whichever government owns this country by then! The comparisons need to be made. They need to be examined and they need to be acknowledged. America is standing on the precipice of another patriotic awakening but simply accepting fluorescent colored clothing and absurd spending habits is not all that will be required of us. We’re going to have to work. We’re going to have to suffer and we’re going to have to sacrifice. The result of that effort will be the peaceful happiness that springs from a common goal. America’s greatness is a terrific goal and it is one that transcends political stubbornness. Liberalism has failed under Obama’s Presidency. It’s as simple as that. Step out of the way, let capitalism and its competitive nature clean up the moral, financial, and spiritual mess liberalism has left in its wake and let’s get back to the American pride felt with the overall progress of the eighties.

They say history repeats itself, but our reactions and our handling of that repetition do not have to remain consistent. Instead of record personal debt and foolish household spending, teach responsibility and good stewardship this time around. We can accept and engage the return of the fitness craze of the eighties, but there is no law that requires leg-warmers, big hair at the gym, or Jane Fonda’s relevance to be included in that repetition. They say history repeats itself, but Obama’s trying to recreate the election of 2008 and it’s just too soon. His record simply doesn’t support the hype and charm. His attacks against Romney are proving to be empty and more damaging to Obama than those who want him gone. He attacks Romney for his success at Bain Capital; painting him as greedy, but then turns around and asks Wall Street for enormous campaign contributions. Cowardly. He portrays himself as one of the SEAL’s responsible for Bin Laden’s death. Cowardly. He creates victims wherever a victim will further his cause. Cowardly. Put Obama, alone in a fishing boat in a Georgia swamp and release some swamp rabbits. Carter splashed water at the beast and joked about the incident later with great humility. Obama would label the rabbit a racist and have him deported but still expect his vote in November. He’s THAT crazy!

As always, thanks for playing!

Hearing Footsteps…..

By: J Robert Giles

@JRobertGiles

“I know well what I am fleeing from but not what I am in search of.”  - Michel de Montaigne

Scales

When did obeying the rules become an option? When did the scales of our society tip in favor of those willing to question established law and thought in exchange for self-gratification over those willing to work within such a system for the sheer joy of accomplishment? When did we become so afraid to get our hands dirty? It was probably about the time that fear of getting your hands dirty was classified as a disorder and therefore entitling the afflicted individual to a government provided standard of living three times greater than the one in which the patient was living prior to the onset of such a crippling disorder. If you can sense the sarcasm, it’s because I was laying it on pretty thick. Those blinded by the promises of free stuff are always willing to sacrifice future for enjoyment today. Religion is a perfect example. Faith requires years of discipline and strength whereas denouncing God is now seen as cool and allows for a “fun” life here on earth. When did the idea that questioning God and His Divine Word was a tool of those more intellectually gifted than the lowly “faithful?” If anything, I would call the arrogance of those who publicly mock religion as a tool of the dimwitted. Even if you don’t believe in the version of God that has been allowed to fester in your mind, you have to be able to see the historical evidence that suggests a civilization ends shortly after its belief in God is abandoned. If nothing else, shouldn’t respect dictate that God’s word played a role in the forming of this country? So, what happened to respect? When did everybody become more important than everybody else? The weakest elements of our society seem able to expand with the greatest of ease. We find it entirely too easy to flee from perceived oppression even when the destination of that flight is uncertain at best.

Our founding fathers would not recognize the society present in America today. While many of the advancements would be fascinating to them, the condition of the government they designed would surely bring a tear to their eyes. There would be fleeting seconds when they thought they recognized a certain aspect of today’s legislative process, but then a decision would be handed down to make them shudder. Our founding fathers might even believe that they recognize a few prominent members of today’s government. Could you really blame them for getting Hillary Clinton and Ben Franklin confused? Have you seen the Princess of Pantsuits lately? She literally looks like she took a picture of Mount Rushmore into her makeup artist and said “THAT’S what I want to look like!” Unfortunately, it is with Hillary’s striking resemblance to Ben Franklin that the similarities between today’s government and the one designed by those great men comes to a screeching halt. The Constitution was certainly not written with today’s interpretation and application in mind.

The United States Constitution was written with the idea that it is a living, breathing, and most importantly a growing entity. Written into it’s brilliant structure was the need for flexibility and adaptability. The men who so carefully crafted the document and its place in our government meant for the laws they invented to be adjusted for advancements in technology, medicine, industry, and global infrastructure. It was meant to adjust to the changing needs of freedom and liberty. It was not designed or written so that government could one day assert its own free will on the people over which it presides. Complete government authority is not described in the Constitution. Those who believe such a notion is a good path for the rest of us should be disqualified from leading a government tasked with guiding a country to a Constitutionally described version of liberty. In fact, that’s exactly the kind of control our Constitution was written to defend against.

Why then do we flee? Why do we flee the common sense and wisdom of such a brilliantly conceived notion? It’s not because we’ve outgrown the ideas laid out in her framework. The problem lies in the fact that there are enough people willing to settle for dependence rather than work for independence. In a terrifying article by Alexander Tyler, a Scottish History Professor at the University of Edinburgh in 1887, it is noted that "a democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse over loose fiscal policy, (which is) always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years.During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:

From bondage to spiritual faith;
From spiritual faith to great courage;
From courage to liberty;
From liberty to abundance;
From abundance to complacency;
From complacency to apathy;
From apathy to dependence;
From dependence back into bondage."

Compare that rather bleak history lesson with the realities of the 2008 election. Obama won 19 states to McCain’s 29. Obama won approximately 580,000 square miles of land compared to McCain’s 2,500,000. The murder rate per 100,000 residents in the areas won by Obama was 13:2. For McCain, it was 2:1. This information was given by Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law who goes on to say that “an aggregate map of the area McCain won was mostly land owned by taxpaying citizens of this country. Obama territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in low income tenements and living off various forms of government welfare..."

We’ve allowed ourselves to be ruled where government has no right to rule. We’ve exchanged our dignity so that government can provide us a life free of work. We’ve convinced ourselves that poor and dependent is somehow better than poor and ambitious. Where government sees dependence on something other than itself, it projects a stigma of weakness. Religion is a perfect example. Where babies were once viewed as a blessing, they are now seen as a choice.

The encouraging news is that I’m seeing a groundswell. I’m hearing the footsteps of all those people who foolishly fled to the scale littered with empty promises of “hope and change” in 2008. They’re all stampeding back to this side. Weight is being added back to our side of that social scale. The very emotions and greed that led so many over to the self-serving ideological side in 2008 is the very force propelling their return now. Shame has replaced greed. People are embarrassed that they allowed hype to control them the way it did. Many were lured by the glamorous appeal of the fairy tale itself but have since realized that fairy tales are not what made America great. America is at it’s greatest when applying the lessons learned in times of suffering. America is greatest when rising from the smoldering ashes of our own mistakes. No one can say that the last three and a half years have not been suffered through or that they were not littered with mistakes. Hillary Clinton’s Founding-Father-Figure aside, we have all made glaring mistakes in the past but none have been so egregious as those acts carried out by the ones elected to lead us. The damage done by their perpetuating dependency will take years to undo.

We find ourselves fleeing once more, but this time the destination is certain. Our destination is the pride once felt in simply being an American. Our destination is a version of freedom unidentifiable to His Barackness and his quivering little Press Secretaries. Our destination is a life where quality of work is far more important than size of paycheck; where freedom from debt via legal measures is more honorable than street cred. Our destination is a life where the size of your paycheck is earned by experience as is its expansion. Yes, the destination is certain…..the uncertainty seems to spring from what it is that we’re supposed to be fleeing.

Is it just Obama or is is the suffocating system if entitlement weakening our country by the day? I say both! If they have been successful in bullying us outside the polling stations, why can’t we protest loudly outside the welfare offices. They call us racist for wanting immigration reform, yet refuse to close loopholes giving billions of dollars to illegal immigrants. They’re blatantly choosing votes over future of country. These people must be replaced with common sense. These people simply must be replaced.

I beg of you…..don’t flee. Don’t flee this fight. Stay and welcome back all those lost souls who are now joining us to help load Obama’s belongings into a Chevy Volt in November and send him out of Washington for good.

As always, thanks for playing!

It Starts At The Dinner Table…..

By: J Robert Giles

@JRobertGiles

“Each day of our lives, we make deposits in the memory banks of our children.”   - Charles R. Swindoll

It’s a cliché to say that being a parent changes the way you look at things. Of course it does. For most of us, becoming a parent means an abrupt, loud, and completely exhausting end to the life we had led to that point. It doesn’t matter how old the parents are or how well planned the pregnancy may have been, once that child arrives, the IMAG1226 world of the parent is a completely different one. Parents find a joy in seeing the world through the eyes of their children. There’s an indescribable sense of pleasure to be found in watching your child figure out a concept with which you yourself struggled as a child. Some are more momentous like watching them suffer a competitive loss but take away the appropriate lessons. Others are more humorous like watching a 7 year old boy in complete awe of the “curly fry.” The feeling a parent has at the end of a really good day with their kids is a spiritual experience. It can’t be duplicated.

Is it too much to ask for a government who feels the same way about this country? Is it out of the realm of possibility for us to take control of the spiraling mess that has been created in Washington DC? A parent, even one whose abilities may have been called into question a time or two, would move heaven and earth to protect their kids. Does anybody in this country feel that our government would feel the same way about us as their kids? Many of the values that parents try to instill in their children are values our government does not believe in. Even the most selfish of men will do everything in his power to steer his kids clear of the mistakes he has made in his own life. A parent would recognize trends in their children that have led down destructive paths in their own history. Our government has no such instinct. A parent would gladly sacrifice time and emotion to impart the wisdom of independence onto his children. A parent wants their kids to know the sheer joy of working towards a successful goal. Whether that goal is athletic, scholastic, or personal a parent knows that the work put in is twice as valuable as the goal itself could ever be. Our government has chosen a different parenting style. Our government has chosen to breed a mentality of dependency. An involved and effective parent would never allow a child to label laziness and greed as anything but laziness and greed and we would never encourage our kids to demand the fruits of another man’s labor. A good parent knows that there is infinitely more pride to be found in independence than there will ever be in dependence.

If the government cared about America as a parent cares about their children, then the issue of debt would not be at the center of every election this country will face for the rest of my lifetime. Think about that…..the amount of debt we have allowed to accrue under just ONE President will still be a burden long after any of the eyes reading these words have closed for the final time. A parent doesn’t prepare their children for life in such a fashion. Those who do are the ones who benefit most from our government’s complete lack of responsibility. A parent who feels no remorse in leaving a staggering financial burden to their children doesn’t deserve to have kids in the first place. That doesn’t mean that all parents who leave a debt to their kids are failures, it just means that those who actively plan to do so are failures. While I make no attempt to hide the fact that I am conservative when it comes to politics, this issue goes well beyond party affiliation. Figuring out who is to blame for the decay in the relationship between citizen and government is just as big a waste of time as trying to figure out who started the fight between brother and sister. It doesn’t matter, it just needs to stop.

A good parent would never, in a million years, choose the interests of his or her friends over the safety and needs of his or her own children. Every time our government makesObama Buffett a decision based solely in ideology, that’s exactly what they’re doing. Every time Barack Hussein Obama kills a job-producing, price-at-the-pump reducing, pipeline proposal so that Canadian oil can still be transported via the railroads owned by a “close personal friend,” he’s choosing that friend’s needs over yours. Every time Barack Hussein Obama travels to Maine and meets with the Union Leaders but refuses to meet with the suffering fisherman who desperately need a morale boost, he’s choosing the needs of his  friends over yours. Every time His Barackness eats a puppy, he’s taking it directly from the hands of YOUR daughter. Every time Nancy Pelosi speaks, she’s defying what’s actually needed in favor of what’s needed to keep her and her friends in “power.” Every time Bill Clinton uses a Cuban cigar to pleasure his fat-chicks, he’s disregarding American need. Every time taxpayer money is used to advance ideology, it’s the same as you strapping your own children into the back of a Chevy Volt full of highly volatile, absurdly flammable, materials.

In November, it will finally be time for all of us to demand a better government. It will be time for all of us to stand up and scream until the “politicians” on Capitol Hill start behaving a little more like parents. The Presidential Election is only a symbol of that resolve. The results will come in our ability to stick to our demands well after the polls close. No longer can we stand by and allow horrible decisions to be made but only show concern when an election is looming. That’s what got us here. November will mark the family intervention that hopefully sets this country back on track toward the future we all know is waiting for us. A future that requires hard work by all, not just those who haven’t yet figured out how to milk the system. A future where dependency is frowned upon and integrity is honorable. A future where America stops wearing a diaper, puts on our big-boy pants, and finally starts to take more pride in the journey than the destination.

As always, thanks for playing.

Aiding and Abetting…..

By: J Robert Giles

”The image is one thing and the human being is another. It’s very hard to live up to an image.”

-Elvis Presley

Elvis

Is that our problem? Did the King (Elvis, not Obama) manage to sum up the entire scope of American politics and maybe even our society there in that simple, lip-curling, quote? Setting aside Elvis’ affinity for Quaalude flavored doughnuts, there actually is some sense in the words above. Especially when compared to the predicament in which we currently find ourselves.

Today, image seems to be everything. Everybody’s a star and nobody’s unique. Everybody’s better than everyone else so no accomplishment is worthy of praise. In fact, a genuine accomplishment is often frowned upon simply because of public opinion. Greed and an overwhelming sense of self-importance have taken over the very fiber of our country. We say that we want better for our children. We say we don’t contribute personally to the creeping kudzu of fabricated warfare, yet abstinence from combat is often not an option. Our brains simply won’t let us accept what we interpret as inferiority. The noblest of men in our country have, at one time or another, fallen prey to the proverbial “I want what he’s got” mentality. Entire industries have been built upon the notion of attaining what can’t currently be afforded. Our government essentially operates under this mentality.

Whatever happened to saving and yearning for something you can’t currently afford? It’s called entitlement and if you are in favor of getting life handed to you for little to no effort, perhaps this would be a good time for you to catch some form of public transportation right on out of this conversation. For those who believe in working your butts off and only going after that which you can currently afford with what is currently yours to give…..please read and share the following examples of desired image being provided to those who have done nothing to earn it.

  • We’ve all heard about the expansion of fraud within the major entitlement programs. Medicare, Medicaid, housing services, food stamps have topped the GAO’s list of waste, fraud and abuse for decades yet they have grown exponentially. In other words, more and more people have figured out that taking something for free is easier than working for it. I’m not saying that no one deserves welfare so put that ridiculous, race-baiting, victim creating nonsense back in your tent and take a little weed-nap, occupier! What I am saying is that the loopholes which allow such abuse are being ignored by those who could close them and exploited by those who gain from them. Our government is hemorrhaging money and all we hear from our leaders President and Congress is “it’s all his fault” or “it’s because {insert manufactured oppressor here} hates the {insert manufactured voting victim here}.”
    • Take a look at the so called Buffett Rule Obama is so excited about. Every time he gets to talk about increasing the tax burden of the “rich” or forcing the wealthyBuffett Rule to pay their “fair share” he gets visibly giddy. We, as a country, are trillions of dollars in debt. The Buffett rule, over the next decade, would bring in an estimated $46.7 billion. Under Obama’s proposals, our debt would increase by $7 TRILLION over that same decade. The Buffet Rule would make up exactly .667142857% of the money Obama plans to spend over the next decade. The men that Obama parades out onto the stage with him when he promotes this ludicrous idea are men who, like Mitt Romney, earn the majority of their income off of capital gains and dividends, not taxable wages. Notice no one is suggesting that those rates be touched. You know who will be affected the most by these new rules? It’s the young pro-athlete who is out there blindly promoting Obama because of a shared skin tone. He’s the one who earns over a million dollars a year in taxable income. It’s the idiotic little actress who uses her fame to promote Obama as the Messiah. Those people are the ones that Obama counts on in November. Those are the people that will promote Obama’s message of “fairness.” Their fame provides all the authority that will be needed to make them credible supporters in Obama’s constant campaign. In a society where disrespectful sound-bytes equal power and credibility, Obama has inserted himself as King.
  • This morning, I heard the delightful tale of another blatant misuse of a once noble idea. Kimball Clark, a 45 year old Boston man who has had a long history of “disagreement” with the police, was once again locked up for selling heroin. His “disagreement” stems from the fact that he believes he should be able to sell heroin while the police maintain that it’s still illegal and punishable by arrest. During the booking process at a Dorchester, MA Police Lockup, Clark was overheard making his one phone call to tell someone to “go get {his} EBT card and go to an ATM to get cash and bail him out.” He used his taxpayer funded EBT card to post bail for drug distribution. Now, I’m sure I will be called a racist for bringing this topic up in such a light but where in the hell does a man’s skin color give him the right to use MY money to bail him out of jail for selling drugs? I don’t care if Kimball Clark was as green as Gumby or as blue as a Smurf, he abused a system whose scope was never intended to cover his illegal activities and inherent lifestyle.
    • EBT Cards began replacing food stamps in the 1990’s. They essentially work like an ATM card only it’s you and me working for the money that goes into the accounts, not the cardholder. Since cash can be obtained from the cards, we are essentially funding whatever the cardholder chooses to do. Drugs, and porn all the way to tithing and baby formula. The intent of the program, like so many before it, was heartfelt. Unfortunately, loopholes are exploited and broadcast long before authorities can close them up.
  • Social Security Disability fraud is rampant yet very little seems to be done about it. In July of last year, Judge David Daugherty of West Virginia stepped down amidst an investigation into the fact that he approved almost every disability claim that came before his court. Eighteen months of Social Security disposition data show Daugherty decided 2,104 disability cases between Sept. 26, 2009, and March 25, 2011. He denied benefits in four cases. That equaled an approval rate of 99.8 percent. Anybody hear about this? No matter what was found in the course of that particular investigation, it points to a much bigger, systemic problem in our culture. It points to the fact that a judge was rumored to be giving out free money and 2,104 people lined up outside his court for their “fair share.”

Entitlement programs do not need to be expanded. They need to be enforced. The government does not need to support those who are simply lining up for a handout. If someone is truly unable to provide for themselves, then I praise God that we live in a country willing to step in and help. That’s what these programs were designed to do. That’s great. What I don’t agree with is this mentality that nothing is out of reach for anyone in this country.

I want to take my family to Hawaii for about ten days next year. Is there a government program I should ask to provide this trip or should I just buckle down and save my money and earn the trip? Remember when attaining the goal was as important as the goal itself? Remember when the struggle and the journey enriched the achievement?

“Fair Share” does not mean “free.” By living in this country you are given the fair share of the freedom due to you, but you are also expected to maintain your fair share of the responsibility. You don’t get the money without putting in the work. You don’t get to waste our precious electoral system by voting for the candidate you feel will give you the most free stuff. You don’t get to discredit the intentions of our Constitution by manipulating it to serve only your personal interests. Don’t expect His Barackness or any of his little handbag Chihuahuas to attack this issue. Don’t expect any politician to attack this issue. Doing so will immediately cost them votes. Besides, I’m not sure we want to know the entire scope of the fraud that has ruined our country’s initiative, motivation, and net worth. The change in this arena will come from a constant and impossible to ignore outcry whenever abuse is suspected. Politicians are afraid of losing the votes of those who benefit from fraud but why are those votes they depend on? Why is more not being done to bring shame onto those who are essentially robbing each and every one of us? Stand up and fight, dammit!

As always, thanks for playing!
