Hollywood in its last days

Hollywood’s diminution arrives as its creativity leaves the scene. Revivals, reboots and sequels are the mainstay of this town’s current revenue stream. Faltering at the box office this summer ticket sales have slowed to a spurt of prior years. This town is full of mimicry not originality presently. Great directors need great scripts not redundancy that is currently being offered them. Entertainment magazines are fraught with previews of duplicates and triplicates of past titles. Star Wars has traveled further than any sequence of cinema presentations in history. Time to put his war horse to bed permanently. Jurassic Park has lived longer than the dinosaurs of old. This fossil too should find a museum for its aging bones. I enjoy a good flick like any other consumer looking for a few hours of suspended disbelief. Yet I will not spend my few quarters on titles that have been regurgitated more than a ruminant chews its curd.
