You can count on hearing from those who will always exploit a national tragedy to push their agendas. It's no surprise that the instant fixer, New York's Mayor Bloomberg, has the answer: Tough gun control!
Bloomberg is always looking out for our health and welfare. Just take away guns from all the law abiding citizens so only the government and criminals will have them. Yea, that's the ticket.
Unfortunately, criminals and the insane will always find a way to do their horrible deeds against humanity. They could care less about the law and if not guns, then they'll just devise other means to achieve their evil ends.
H/T to Michelle Malkin:
Many Coloradans will remember that the mass shooting in Colorado Springs at New Life Church in 2007 was stopped by a citizen hero, Jeanne Assam, because she was armed and shot back — saving hundreds of lives.
Let me repeat that for the gun control zealots: Armed Colorado citizens have SAVED lives in mass shootings. The knee-jerk gun-grabbers have no shame. And no clue.
Bloomberg was interviewed on WOR Radio's John Gambling Show today. Here's an excerpt:
Gambling: Nice to see you as always. That deal in Aurora, just another horrific unexplainable mass murder.
Mayor Bloomberg: You know, soothing words are nice, but maybe it’s time that the two people who want to be President of the United States stand up and tell us what they are going to do about it, because this is obviously a problem across the country. And everybody always says, ‘Isn’t it tragic,’ and you know, we look for was the guy, as you said, maybe trying to recreate Batman. I mean, there are so many murders with guns every day, it’s just got to stop. And instead of the two people – President Obama and Governor Romney – talking in broad things about they want to make the world a better place, okay, tell us how. And this is a real problem. No matter where you stand on the Second Amendment, no matter where you stand on guns, we have a right to hear from both of them concretely, not just in generalities – specifically what are they going to do about guns? I can tell you what we do here in New York. The State Legislature passed the toughest gun laws – some states may say no. That’s okay, what do you want to do? And maybe every Governor should stand up. But in the end, it is really the leadership at a national level, which is whoever is going to be President of the United States starting next January 1st – what are they going to do about guns? . .
Perhaps Bloomberg can offer President Obama or Mitt Romeny a new quick fix rule: All guns must weigh less than 16oz!
(Sorry I got that fix mixed up with Bloomberg's laughable health-conscious soft drink fix.)
Grow up America. The answers to these tragedies are not so simple. Quick fixes that violate our American Bill of Rights, will surely have unintended consequences. Then again, maybe those consequences are intended by some . . .
