Sick And Tired Of Obama
A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet
I sat at the keyboard for about an hour before I began pecking out these few sentences.
Pondering a topic to comment on, or analyze, my mind just automatically
skipped everything else going on in the world and went straight to the
subject of "Obama."
But here's the thing: I am sick and tired of Obama.
Since the presidential campaign of 2007 and the election in 2008, it has been wall-to-wall Obama -- ad nauseam!
I am not an admirer of Mr. Obama. In fact, I did not like him as a
senator, and I like him even less as President of the United States. I
think America made a massive, humongous, mistake in electing the man to
the highest office in the land and now we are paying the price for that
mistake and, what's worse, I think we are only nearing the halfway mark
of Obama's presidency.
No one has been able to yet convince me that Obama can be beaten in the 2012 election. (That
does not mean I will stop working my behind off to TRY to send him back
to Chicago in January of 2013, but -- in my estimation -- it is a hell
of a long shot.)
I've been writing and delivering commentaries for many decades. The most difficult aspect of creating a good commentary (for THIS scribe)
has always been staying with a timely subject, one that listeners and
readers will relate to and want to hear or read. The difficulty for me
is my personal interest in darn near everything. Staying on a subject,
in which listeners and readers are interested, is something I have to
"work at."
The thing is, as long as I stay on the subject of Obama, my readership
stays high. When I depart from that topic -- readership tends to dip.
Now, consider this: I'm not in this anymore for ratings. I'm writing
these days because I enjoy it -- no other reason. With that in mind,
allow me to stress, once again, that I am sick and tired of writing
about Obama.
Where did this national obsession over the man originate? How about the
so-called mainstream media? According to them the guy is the
"Second-Coming," the "Messiah" -- and it has been this way since the
campaign back in 2007 - 2008.
What they don't get, them and the entire leftist community in America,
is that the other half of America sees the man for what he is and has
always been -- a con man.
Back during the campaign in 2007 my wife and I were watching some news
clip or other, on TV, and my wife turned to me and said: Obama is a
"user." She meant that he had an obvious penchant for using other
people to get what he wanted. She was spot on.
And it went downhill from there.
Since, I daresay, I have written dozens of articles and commentaries
about the man. And, truth be told, (at the risk of repeating myself!) I
like him even less now than I did when he first stepped on the stage of
national politics.
Too, I have learned that it is darn near impossible NOT to talk about
him and NOT to write about him. As in the words of an old Ray Stevens
song say: "He's everywhere. He's everywhere!"
Along about -- HERE -- in this commentary, you will notice how I have, in spite of myself, switched topics from I am sick and tired of writing about Obama to actually writing about Obama. See what I mean!? Arrg!
It's like an infectious disease, a contagious one at that. The
omnipresent Obama permeates everything -- and like some sort of cancer
it manages to stave-off any and all attempts at a cure and continues to
destroy everything it touches.
Look. No matter who wins the election in November, this nation, America has been forever changed by Obama.
So far as I am concerned, that change has been for the worse. He has
taken America deeper into socialism, which will eventually destroy
America.
Already, Obama's collectivist, socialist/Marxist philosophy, and
ideology, is strangling American business and smothering individual
freedom. And the worse of it is -- about half of the country is
willing, eager, in fact, to follow the man right off the cliff and into
the oblivion of socialist enslavement.
Of all the enemies America has faced on the battlefield since its
founding, NONE presented the threat to America's freedom that Obama does
today. None!
We are, in fact, living in the "end-times" for America. Obama introduced this dark and dismal period in the decline of the greatest nation ever to exist on the planet earth.
Obama's malignant influence has global reach. The world stage is
currently being set for a regional war in the Middle East, a war that
could easily evolve into a nuclear war that will mar the earth and
earth's atmosphere for generations to come. (Can you see the irony in
having an atmosphere polluted by irradiated dust particles by a man
whose minions claim that even carbon dioxide, that gas you and I exhale,
is an air pollutant?)
No. I don't think Obama is the Antichrist. I think he is ONE of the antichrists. The scriptures tells there will be a number of them -- not just one. (Read the first and second book of John in the New Testament.)
There can be no doubt Obama is thought of as the "secular Messiah" by
those who consider themselves nonreligious. Trying to convince them
that their worship of Obama is (itself) a religion, is a waste of time and effort.
Over the next few weeks, we Americans will observe the systematic
destruction of Obama's opposition. In fact, it has already begun. Before
this election cycle is over, I expect Americans are going to be utterly
astounded at the lengths to which Obama and his disciples will will go
to retain their hold on power and, I think, Americans are going
to be disgusted with the obvious joy taken by "The One" and his cadre of
enforcers in the act of destroying their opposition. Their delight will be our disgust.
Some ministers are openly declaring the Obama Presidency is a biblical
plague visited upon a sinful people! I must tell you -- in all honesty
-- I find that difficult to refute.
When one compares the evils of modern America with the evils of the
biblical cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, and considers God's punishment
rained down upon those ancient urban cesspools, one is compelled to ask
-- if America is NOT being punished by God --WHY not?
I understand this is a "dark" glimpse into America's current state of
self-immolation. but it is an honest appraisal of what I see as
America's terminal condition -- as of today. I do not offer it for your consideration as a prediction or a prophecy.
It is merely a "conclusion" based on over seven decades of experience
as an observer -- and a participant -- in what I like to call "life." (Oh, and I reserve the right to be WRONG!)
There can be no doubt that America is in deep and desperate trouble. Under attack from within and without, America's
breast has been bared to the enemy's onslaught by the individual whose
responsibility it is to protect her from such assaults.
But the greater, indeed, the GREATEST responsibility lies with
America's people. America's guardian of freedom, the captain at the
helm of our ship of state, is sorely lacking and MUST be replaced. The
fact that there is a high possibility of failure in the attempt to
replace our President in the November election must not deter us from
the task.
I repeat: the task is great and so is the possibility of failure -- but we have to try. America must be repaired and restored -- if not for ourselves, then certainly for the generations of Americans yet unborn.
J. D. Longstreet
So sad, but true J.D. but try and remember that our Lord is still on his throne - even while Obama sits on his... God help the faithful Americans!
