Dependence Day

Countrymen,

As we celebrate our independence from England this Fourth of July, we need to step back and take stock of the new tyranny that is forming around us, right within our own borders.

Our Founding Fathers understood that freedom meant the liberty to choose to live your life within your own domain as you saw fit, limited only by what was necessary to prevent any negative impact of your conduct on other people's liberties.

Today, Freedom is being described as the freedom from want, freedom from personal responsibility, and a freedom from the "shackles" of our Creator.  To win this new "freedom," we should place our faith in the government, which has the solution to all our problems and ills.

Freedom is now the government providing for your every need.  They will ensure you have a right to a job, a home, health care, protection against old age, protection against sickness, protection and unemployment, a good education.  There is nothing for which you will want if you will only place your life in the hands of the government.

Is this what was intended by our Declaration of Independence, to divorce ourselves from one tyrannical government only to fetter ourselves to another right here at home?

This Independence Day, I exhort you to put aside the XBox controller, set down that beer, turn off the baseball game, and instead read our Constitution, our Declaration of Independence, F.A. Hayek, Thomas Paine, Tocqueville, Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, and Alexander Hamilton.  Examine for yourself the truth of our Founding so that you will understand how it is being distorted by those who seek our submission and bondage to the State.  Progressives have been deliberately attempting to keep us ignorant of our past so that they can lead us to a very different future from the one intended by our Founders.  And trust me when I say that it is not a future you will like.

If you consider yourself a Christian, then for goodness sake open up the Bible and read it.  The powers that be are only beginning their oppression and perversion of the Christian faith in an effort to divorce us from our Creator and marry us to the all-powerful State.  They want us to deny our faith by accepting depraved and perverted lifestyles that the State promotes.  They continually propagate the myth of "separation of Church and State" as justification to eradicate the Christian faith from all public venues and discussion.

Even many so-called pastors preach the world view of the Bible instead of the Biblical view of the world.  Is yours one of them?  If so, you might want to think about getting another pastor, for he is leading you down the wrong path (see 2 Peter 2).

The bottom line is this: The only people who can save this nation, protect our liberties, and defend our Constitution are us.

No one else can or will.  Progressives (socialists) seek our submission to the State, and if we fail to do so, they will see to it that we are destroyed.  It is that simple.

On this Fourth of July, we must choose to resist this evil tyranny growing within our borders. Should we choose to be passive, put our heads in the sand, and deceive ourselves that this is not happening, we can celebrate our next Fourth of July as Dependence Day.  It's your choice.

Frankly, I loath the thought of having to tell my children that I saw their liberties being destroyed, yet did nothing.
