I think it's really being awarded to the American people for choosing a new direction. The world had little hope for us for 8 fucking years. Electing Obama was a beautiful message of hope to our fellow world community members, telling them that we've seen the horror of the path we were on and are now trying to mend our ways. The Nobel Committee sees this and knows what it means for the future of peace - that America is on-board again and has forsaken the principles we seemed to embrace during the Republican years.
Obey First - Surely you jest! It was a patronizing slap in the face to this country as-well-as to Obama, as they were only using his massive ego to hit Bush. Wake up.
Yup. That was pretty much my reaction too!

ReplyDeleteIf it was awarded to the American People then I'm going to Norway to pick up the award for me.
ReplyDeleteWho else is coming with me?
I suspect that the Nobel Peace prize was given to Obama to send a message... to whom and for what purpose, who knows
ReplyDeleteHow much is my cut? Heh.
