Notre Dame Catholic Status Poll Results

Here are the results of our Faultline USA Notre Dame Catholic Status Poll. The poll ran on Faultline USA for only four days. It was cut short yesterday due to the New Blogger Internet Explorer Glitch, which is still unresolved.

If you use Internet Explorer, there’s a good chance that 15-30 seconds after opening my blog you will get an “Operation Aborted” box pop up. Just close the box and hit the back button to read the blog.

The poll asked only one question:

Should Notre Dame Lose Catholic status?

177 of our readers took the poll, which was announced widely on Twitter. Here are their answers.

79% - Yes

16%- No

5%- Unsure

, Obama, Right to Life, pro-life, pro-choice, anti-Abortion, Abortion.

  1. I didn't get to vote, but I'd have to say no actually.

While I certainly don't agree with the decision that they made, they still have the right to make that decision. Every religious organization has some groups that vocally disagree with the official stance on some issues. That doesn't mean they should be booted from the organization.

Unless of course, it was a principle that the doctrine of the organization was built on.

  2. I think that decision should be made by the Catholic Church and not the laiety.

BTW, having no trouble using Firefox.

  4. Kris - that's what this fuss is all about - a primary doctrine of Catholicism that was violated by a so-called Catholic University!

Looks like the Blogger IE glitch has been resolved today!
