Hummer Eco-terrorist Vandal Surrenders

He was only known by three "X"-marks scratched into Hummers – many Hummers. He might never have been found if one Hummer owner had not installed his own vehicle surveillance system.

It was installed because his Hummer has been defaced before. The Hummer was keyed in the Southlake high school parking lot a week ago. It belonged to a student.

According to WFAA News, “Tips keep pouring into Southlake police after releasing the now-infamous video of a gray-haired man using a key to vandalize a Hummer.”

The vandal was arrested Friday evening. 72-year-old James Jeppe of Southlake, Texas, is charged with malicious mischief. Jeppe turned himself in and was released Friday afternoon on $1,000 bond. He faces up to $20,000. in fines.

Jeppe said he was under financial strain and that’s why he keyed the Hummer. According to the Tarrant Appraisal District, Jeppe’s house is valued at $357,000.

Several Eco-terrorist vandalism attacks on Hummers can be viewed on YouTube.

He was in a strain all right. A strain to come up with something as ridiculous as this for an excuse.

  2. Isn't that the truth! Looks like this is a common eco-terrorist target.

  3. He goes out of his way to by pass other vehicles, and goes straight for the BIG one. Yeah....I'm really buying into that 'financial strain' nonsense. A $1000 bond? Pfft! It'll probably cost more than that to get the vehicle fixed. Hope the judge throws the book at him, and more people will install those nifty cameras on their property. :/

  6. I'm under some financial strain too. Can I get away with sledge hammering a Prius?

    Somehow, I doubt it.

Recently, local vandals keyed the car of an Obama supporter with racial slurs. It was immediately branded by Democrats and the car owner as a "Hate Crime" and all over the front page of the local paper.

  7. Oh yeah, if I was "under financial strain" I'd run right out and find a hummer to key.

This old geezer is just flat-out mean.

He can do his $20,000 in jail. Too bad he's not in the Tucson area. He'd do fine in Sherrif Joe's jail.
