John Edwards wants mandatory preventive health care

According to this report, "John Edwards said on Sunday that his universal health care proposal would require that Americans go to the doctor for preventive care." Hubby says, "This is the true color of a leftist. He wants to micromanage every area of our lives. What if you DON'T go to the doctor? Is he going to send you to the gulag?"

We're back to the 'cradle to the grave' Liberal ideas. The cost of Edwards plan will be high enough to give us all heart attacks:

"It requires that everybody be covered. It requires that everybody get preventive care," he told a crowd sitting in lawn chairs in front of the Cedar County Courthouse. "If you are going to be in the system, you can't choose not to go to the doctor for 20 years. You have to go in and be checked and make sure that you are OK." [snip]

Edwards said his mandatory health care plan would cover preventive, chronic and long-term health care. The plan would include mental health care as well as dental and vision coverage for all Americans.

"The whole idea is a continuum of care, basically from birth to death,"
he said.

Hubby will back me up when I say a health care plan that seems to be free to the recipient, will only lead to folks rushing to the doctor with every sneeze and upset stomach, thus sending medical expenses for tests skyrocketing. What people don't have to pay for, they abuse. Wait and see.
