Iran is punch drunk

According to AOL news today, Gen. Yahya Rahim Safavi, leader of Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guard, has threatened to "punch" the U.S., in response to Washington's plan to list them as a terrorist organization.

"America will receive a heavier punch from the guards in the future," he was quoted as saying in the conservative daily Kayhan. "We will never remain silent in the face of U.S. pressure and we will use our leverage against them." . . .

Meanwhile, other Iranian officials continued to speak out against Washington's move to register the group as a terrorist organization, with a government spokesman calling the claims "baseless," on the Web site of the state broadcasting company. . .

On the same news page, AOL’s poll indicated that their readers overwhelmingly support listing the Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist group, and that the Revolutionary Guards support insurgents in Iraq.

Here are the AOL poll results as of 9:00PM CST:

Should the Revolutionary Guards be listed as a terrorist group? 76% voted YES

Do you think the Revolutionary Guards support insurgents in Iraq? 89% voted YES

Total votes so far: 45,688

  1. Faultline -- Thank you so much for this post. You've made my day.

Considering all the noise that's generated by the liberal media and the Beltway Pundits, and all the defeatist negativity coming from pacifist Left, it's truly heartening to see this evidence of what Americans really think.

Despite their legendary limited attention span and their purported disinterest in serious news, the American public has once again demonstrated those inherent qualities of common sense and good judgment.

  2. The poll results are very interesting, since the questions are very clear. Sometimes poll questions are slightly slanted to skew the result, but not these.

Thanks for the mention as always.

p.s. I know for a FACT from my sources inside Sadr's camp, that there are MANY Iranians in Sadr City, Baghdad, in the South and in the North.

We need to get serious about these guys.
