I think by now everyone knows how much pork Pelosi stuffed into the war emergency supplemental bill (If you scroll at that link, I have a list of the pork that was added in)to buy and bribe members of her party to vote for the house version of the bill.
We also know that President Bush will veto the bill if it holds arbitrary timelines that do not take the conditions on the ground in Iraq, into consideration.
For the purpose of this post though, I am only going to show ONE of the items of pork that was added.
Peanut Storage Subsidies: Provides $74 million to extend peanut storage payments through 2007. The Peanut Subsidy Storage program, which is set to expire this year, pays farmers for the storage, handling, and other costs for peanuts voluntarily placed in the marketing loan program.
Which brings me to RedState and a HUGE thank you to them for posting this picture, showing us exactly what our troops in Iraq think about this particular item of Pelosi's Pork.
Couldn't have said it better myself.
Not to Pelosi and Crew or they never would have added in items such as this in a "emergency "war" supplemental to begin with.
.
Just love our soldiers! Who else can go about the daily business of protecting freedom and honor (i.e. fighting fear-mongering terroism), keep up with the news back home and, yet, take the time to make their own statement to those always blabbing away in Washington, D.C. and stealing money right out of the military's hands?
ReplyDeleteGod bless our military.

As much as I like pointing out the flaws of Nancy Pelosi, pork politics would not even have been considered by Pelosi if their was enough honor in Congress for her to know in advance she would be rebuked for using it in this circumstance.
ReplyDeletePolitics has fallen so far they no longer have the lines your not supposed to cross.
