Political Correctness and Muslims

Originally posted at Right Truth

A Muslim attacks innocent people at a Mall in Salt Lake while shouting Allahu Akbar. A Muslim cab driver runs down a passenger after an argument about religion. Eighteen Muslim Canadians plot to behead the Prime Minister and others. The list goes on and on, but we are not supposed to label them Muslim because it isn't politically correct. Or maybe it's because people are afraid to offend a practitioner of Islam for obvious reasons.

According to this report, 'Sulejman Talovic's February 12 military style assault strongly suggests that it may have been an act of jihad. Talovic was an 'eighteen year old Bosnian Muslim immigrant who shotgunned six people to death and wounded several others before an off duty policeman ended the ordeal by killing the gunman.'

Talovic's father is a former Bosnian mujahideen. Pipeline News:

[Editor's note: Salt Lake City's Bosnian community is an artificial construct, the result of the State Department's resettlement program [working with multicultural lefty do-gooders such as the International Rescue Committee] which has transported troubled, often primitive/tribal [Somali for example] foreign communities into the unfamiliar surrounding of the United States. ...]

... Talovic was "calm and aimed his rifle at his victims while smiling," and that he made his victims kneel before executing them. ...

The official response of the Salt Lake City government has been disconcerting, instead of rushing to console the families of the dead and injured Mayor Rocky Anderson has gone to great lengths to appease and assure the Muslim and Bosnian communities that no harm would come to them.

Of course there was and continues to be no backlash. As a matter of fact, the non-Muslim community has rallied to the family's support. Some of the victim's families have even expressed sympathy with the Talovics and funds are being collected to help the family pay for the killer's $5,000 burial in his native Bosnia.

Sulejman Talovic's short but violent history started at age 10 when he was sent to juvenile court for throwing rocks at a little girl. A second girl was pulled to safety by her mother just in time. The ten year old Talovic also threatened his landlord with a knife who didn't report the incident at the time.

A few years later at the age of 12 Talovic faced a judge after having been accused of holding a knife to a the head of a 12 year old girl while saying "I'll kill you."

Talovic's last court appearance was in 2001 for theft.

The Mayor's dhimmitude towards the Muslim community and misplaced deference to their sensibilities is hardly new. He has been a participant in and initiator of programs involving the Muslim Forum of Utah [MFU]. (read it all)

The death toll could have been much worse, if not for an off duty police officer. In seven minutes he killed five people and wounded four with a 12-gauge shotgun, and 96 bullet fragments recovered. This report says, "Police response to a deadly shooting spree in a shopping mall is being called "textbook" and will be used as a case study by other police departments."

Stu Smith, director of the Utah Crime Lab, said the damage could have been "10 times worse" without the swift action.

"God help everybody if (the shooter) had another 15 or 20 minutes to have free rein inside that mall," Smith said.

Post-Columbine police training equipped the more than 200 police personnel from throughout the Salt Lake valley, 100 firefighters, a host of medical experts, the state crime lab, and Highway Patrol units who 'shut off the mall's perimeter and a state helicopter spotlighted the mall and the surrounding neighborhood. Salt Lake City police Detective Jeff Bedard said, "It's beyond measure how valuable having people on the same radio frequency was." (Star Tribune.net)

In Canada it's no different, political correctness trumps the truth. (hat tip Jan):

Disturbing reality buried, By LICIA CORBELLA Fear of causing offense and willful blindness will only end the day innocent Canadians die

In the news business, it's called burying the lead.

It means you missed the most important or interesting part of a story and led with something less significant.

On Feb. 13, the CBC published and aired the results of an Environics poll, which on their website was billed as "Glad to be Canadian, Muslims say."

Apparently "more than 80% of Canada's roughly 700,000 Muslims are broadly satisfied with their lives here."

That's a nice and cuddly kind of story, but hardly surprising. [snip]

Waaaay down in the online CBC story about this poll is the news that when "asked about the arrests last summer of the 18 Muslim men and boys who were allegedly plotting terrorist attacks in southern Ontario, 73% of Muslim respondents said these attacks were not at all justified." That portion of the poll ended there. No more details. Why? The Environics website made no mention about this portion of the poll either.

However, on CBC's The National television program on the same day, this part of the poll was fleshed-out and the results are alarming.

Fully 12% of Muslim Canadians polled by Environics said the alleged terrorist plot -- that included kidnapping and beheading the prime minister and blowing up Parliament and the CBC -- was justified.

Predictably, the CBC managed to find a talking head -- in this case York University sociology professor Haideh Moghissi -- who dismissed this disturbing revelation.

"It's really negligible that 12 percent feel that the attacks would be justified," said Moghissi. "I don't think it even warrants attention."

Clearly, other news agencies and those who put the poll results on the CBC website agree with Moghissi.

But just how "negligible" is 12% of 700,000 people.

Well, if Moghissi knew arithmetic like she knows denial, she'd know if this poll is accurate, 84,000 Canadian Muslims think it's justifiable to behead our democratically elected prime minister and blow up the very symbol and centre of our democracy! (Calgary Sun)

It is just amazing. We invite these people into our country, we do not investigate them before then enter, then when some of them commit jihad in the name of Allah our media and leaders dismiss the connection completely. We will be sorry if this continues.

  1. You can call it political correctness. I'd call it stupidity. The news media which are covering for these jihadist thugs will some day be victims. Then, what will they say?
