Boycott Bank America, Wells Fargo, and City Bank

Translation: “I am here to help you.”

Customers can get the card if they already have a checking account with the bank that's in good standing for three months. It comes with an upfront fee and a higher-than-average interest rate that can exceed 21 percent. (Source Latina Lista)

These banks are aiding terrorists!
These banks embed illegal immigrants into American society!

The anti-illegal immigration groups launched a website to assist the boycott at http://www.bankofamericaboycott.com/ where Citizens are encouraged to sign the petition and take action.

The coalition consists of over 100 non-racist organizations such as 9/11 Families for a Secure America, The Conservative Voice, Latino Americans for Immigration Reform, USAPAC, IllegalAliens.us, and many others. (Source)

Business coalitions fighting anti-immigration in Texas

Members of the Mexican American Legislative Caucus announced on Thursday the formation of a coalition that includes a number of Mexican-American and business groups to combat what they say is an onslaught of anti-immigrant legislation filed this session.

In addition to the caucus, the alliance includes the Texas Association of Business, the Texas Association of Mexican-American Chambers of Commerce, the Texas Employers for Immigration Reform, the League of United Latin American Citizens, the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund and the American Civil Liberties Union. Members of the alliance told the media their mission is to keep immigration legislation out of the state and to encourage the federal government to implement fair reform. (Source)

We must fight with our $$$. American business interests are selling us out.

We cannot ignore this very logical statement by pro-amnesty Latina Lista:

It really is difficult being an undocumented immigrant in this country. Forget the ICE round-ups or the vague immigration reform debate supposedly happening in DC or even the penalizing ordinances being passed by towns and cities across the nation, those all pretty much send the same message of telling undocumented immigrants they can't make a life here and should return home.

Yet, when businesses and industries are sending the exact opposite message of the government - who can blame these people for still coming and having hope for a better life?

According to the Baltimore Sun, at least Three Banks have programs to assist Illegal Aliens.

Rep. Tom Tancredo, a Colorado Republican, accused the lender of aiding terrorists, while the Department of Homeland Security worried that the program could be exploited by criminals.
"At face value the program seems to be problematic," said Russ Knocke, a department spokesman. "It seems to be lending itself to possibilities of perpetrating identity theft or creating more risk for money laundering."

The bank's program, while controversial, illustrates how the business world increasingly sees the country's estimated 12 million illegal immigrants neither as lawbreakers nor essential workers but simply as customers.

Wells Fargo & Co. and Citibank have launched similar initiatives to gain new customers within the burgeoning Hispanic community.

Wells Fargo began a pilot program last year in Southern California to offer home mortgages to immigrants who have lived in this country for two years. The customers are allowed to identify themselves using individual taxpayer numbers issued by the Internal Revenue Service instead of Social Security numbers. That's the same system Bank of America customers can use to obtain credit cards under the new program. . .

"It helps to further embed illegal immigrants into American society," said Steven Camarota, director of research for the Center for Immigration Studies. "It makes amnesty a fait accompli."
Tancredo said he sent a letter to U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff asking them to look into the program.

"I hope the administration will shut down this reckless and illegal program before Bank of America extends a line of credit to a potential terrorist," said Tancredo, a leader of the anti-illegal immigration forces in Congress. . .

Wells Fargo kicked off the competition in 2001, when it became the first U.S. bank to accept identification cards from Mexican consulates to open an account.
Since then, Wells has opened more than 1 million accounts for Mexicans using the consular card. It also accepts Guatemalan, Argentine and Colombian identity cards.

Citibank already issues credit cards to some immigrants without Social Security numbers if they have taxpayer identification numbers, spokeswoman Janis Tarter said.

Citibank began issuing the cards nearly three years ago. Tarter said she can't recall anyone complaining.

Congressional Immigration Reform Caucus

According to the Current Population Survey (CPS) conducted in January 2003 by the U.S. Census Bureau, there are 28.4 million immigrants living in the United States. This is the largest number of immigrants ever recorded in the nation’s history. It represents an increase of 43 percent just since 1990. Immigrants now account for 10.4 percent of all residents —the highest percentage in 70 years. Of greater concern, is the documented estimate that more than 1.2 million legal and illegal immigrants combined now settle in the United States each year.

The Immigration Reform Caucus was established to review current immigration policy, propose new immigration policies and provide a forum in Congress for addressing the positive and negative consequences of our immigration policies.

During the 108th Congress, the Caucus hopes to focus on three primary areas, illegal immigration, legal immigration and voter reform.

This from Numbers USA . . .

These professional higher-immigration salesmen work night and day for Illegal Alien Amnesties and more immigration.

There are literally HUNDREDS of these people in Washington—at least 400, based on recent news stories.

We only have about 8 on our side. NumbersUSA employs HALF of them.

Rep. Roscoe Bartlett (R-MD) has become the ninth Member of Congress to co-sponsor H.R. 938, The Nuclear Family Priority Act, which would eliminate the policy that has been most responsible for immigration quadrupling from around 250,000 a year in the 1950s and 1960s to more than one million a year since 1990. . . .

  1. According to their website, Bank of America is also offering the ability to transfer money to parents and friends in Mexico for free. Their SafeSend service, as described on their website, allows retrieval of funds at 4,500 pay offices throughout Mexico.

  3. A few things about this issue and the organization leading the boycott:

    1. Living in the U.S. and not having a social security number does not necessarily mean someone is an illegal immigrant. The Social Security Administration only issues numbers to non-citizens whose visa permits them to work. Many legal nonimmigrants, such as foreign students and investors, need to bank in the U.S., establish credit history, etc. That's why the IRS issues individual taxpayer identification numbers (ITINs).

    2. I doubt it is illegal for the B of A to issue credit cards. William Gheen claims it is aiding and abetting, but I doubt that unless the B of A knows the client is an illegal immigrant. Again, no SSN with ITIN does not always mean illegal immigrant. In the U.S., one cannot commit a felony unintentionally and unknowingly. Other banks have issued credit cards without a SSN for years. A better solution is to stop issuing ITINs to illegal immigrants, but that's not the Bank's responsibility but our government's.

    3. ALIPAC is a very xenophobic organization, and you can find anti-Hispanic comments all over its web site. They are not moderate or representative of mainstream America and do not have credibility except with the radical right. You can even find on thread where a member proposed paying "redn***s with shotguns" a $5,000 bounty for each illegal immigrant Mexican they shoot, and ALIPAC's President William Gheen thought the idea is "humorous." Here are some links.

Americans, including myself, want our laws enforced, but without such hatred and animosity. I am opposed to illegal immigration and any form of amnesty, but I prefer common sense enforcement measures that will not hurt legal immigrants and legal nonimmigrants.

  5. Anyone that thinks paying a $5,000 bounty to "redn***s with shotguns" is "humorous" has a very bad sense of humor. Perhaps is is William Gheen that has issues.

  6. Maybe he wouldn't think it's so funny if it were his head that had a $5,000 bounty on it.

But do you want to know the real funny story. Mr. Gheen banks with BB&T according to his end of year FEC report. Does he even know who he banks with? BB&T of NC is on his list to boycott. Does that mean his credit card will get canceled LOL! One can only hope the bank cancels it as he's pumping gas and gearing up for his next boycott. Here are the links of his reports:

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Nashville Man Asks US Military to Change Banks

Bank of America could lose millions in profits

Saturday June 2, NASHVILLE (Tn) - A former Army Reserve Officer here is taking the Department of Defense, the agency that manages our military, to task.

"We're sending our soldiers to the border to defend us from the Illegal Immigration Invasion" Jim Boyd said. "We're sending them with a government issued M-16 in one hand, government issued binoculars in the other and a government issued travel card in their back pocket. Unfortunately, that government issued travel card in their pocket is reaching up and stabbing our soldiers in the back."

Boyd is upset that the government travel card many military members carry is issued through Bank of America. BoA made the news recently for aggressively marketing their financial services to the same illegal immigrants that the National Guard and Border Patrol are trying to turn back at the border.

"The Bank of America is making money from both sides of this invasion" said Boyd. "They charge the taxpayers millions of dollars to provide our fighting men and women with travel cards they use around the world. Then, they make millions by opening savings, checking and loan accounts for illegal immigrants waving their flimsy 'Matricula Consular' cards."

The Matricula Consular is an often and easily forged identification card issued by the Mexican Government expressly to Mexican citizens hoping to enter the United States illegally. Many states have passed laws rejecting the Matricula Consular as a legal ID.

According to Boyd, BoA earns a profit on their government travel cards through interest and service fees.

"How can we turn back the Illegal Immigrant Invasion if we have businesses like the Bank of America offering illegals incentives to come here? There are many great banks that don't cater to the illegals" Boyd said. "Those banks would love to have this nation's military business."

"If the Department of Defense and this administration are serious about defending our communities from this invasion, they would change banks and let a pro USA bank host the military travel cards" Boyd said.

If the DoD were to change banking institutions as Boyd is calling for, the Bank of America would lose millions of dollars in taxpayer supported revenue to rival banks that do not accept the Matricula Consular as a legitimate identification.

The DoD has issued government travel cards to select military personnel for years. Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, Airmen and Coast Guardsmen use the tightly controlled cards to help pay travel expenses for government directed travel. Use of the cards helps prevent the individual military member from paying for directed travel out of his or her own pocket. The government travel card is generally issued to officers, senior enlisted personnel and military members with highly specialized duties. The military travel card program is tightly and successfully monitored for any potential fraud or abuse by cardholders.

Boyd sent faxes and emails this weekend to US Defense Secretary Robert Gates requesting that he order the DoD to change banking institutions. He is also sending his request to his US Senators Lamar Alexander and Bob Corker. He plans to hold a mini-press conference and make copies of his requests available to the media and answer public questions. He plans to hold the mini-press conference at Noon on Monday in front of the Bank of America Plaza at the corner of 5th Avenue North and Union Street

Boyd served as an Army Reserve Officer from 1990 to 1996. According to Boyd, he is continuing to defend his community by running for his Metropolitan Council on a platform that focuses on the Illegal Immigrant Invasion.

"For our Government to continue to use the Bank of America for travel cards," Boyd stated, "that would be a slap in the face to the men and women we are sending to the border to defend our nation. Our military deserve better than that."

  9. When you apply for a home equity loan with WFB, your application is sent to Mexico for processing. All of your information is uploaded there into the WFB system. Then it is underwritten in the US. So, your SS number, address (current and prior) employment (current and prior) and credit account information (charge cards, store accounts, mortgages, etc.) are all there for viewing. Not even the loan reps know that this is where they're sending the loan applications. They think that there sending them to a branch in San Diego. Giving them access to the bank's services is one thing but giving them access to your information is another thing in deed.

  11. I see your blog has something to do with the Bank Of America. Although, at the present time, one can not do without the bank services, still I think it could have been better without them. People face so much problems and misunderstandings because of these financial establishments. Learn on other people’s mistakes from www.pissedconsumer.com. It is a very informative and helpful site.

  12. Hi there. What’s up? Money, money, money. They say money rule the world. And that is the truth. Look how many banks and other financial institutions are there. Wells Fargo is one of the numerous financial service companies. It specializes in retail banking, consumer finance, corporate banking, provides investments, insurance, mortgages and many other banking products packages. Famous does not always mean the best. On www.pissedconsumer.com I found out that the company does have certain disadvantages.

  13. Hi! What an interesting blog! I should say that financial companies at the present time, may be very dangerous. The thing is that a large proportion of such institutions are a fraud. They are established to get money from the clients and then suddenly disappear or go bankrupt. They trick in people by offering high interest rates on the deposit accounts. It is better to give your money to a trusted company, like Wells Fargo, for example. Browse this great site www.pissedconsumer.com for customers’ reports about the company.

  14. Not all US citizens have SSN's, and it isn't very "conservative" to accept the massive federal intrusion into state and personal rights that is the Social Security Administration. Participation the the SSA is NOT required. Newborns do not have to get enumerated and people born before the system began do not have to be enumerated either. That banks are starting to accept customers with no SSN's is a huge win for American citizens that want nothing to do with our nation's doomed foray into socialism.
