Last I checked da Vinci wasn't a prophet or an apostle. In fact, he was gay. His artwork is not part of the Christian canon. Furthermore, his painting has been parodied MANY TIMES in popular culture (see here: http://slog.thestranger.com/2007/09/other_last_suppers_wheres_the_outrage), so when you choose to get selectively outraged about only THIS parody, and to blame it on the gays, you betray your own bias.

I find the image beautiful. You don't. That's true of ALL art. Some like it, some don't. End of story. There is no controversy here.

P.S. The street fair is not a "gay" event. It is a BDSM event, and participation runs about 40 percent straight, 60 percent gay. Plus, in the image, you will notice that there are 11 men and 3 women -- and the women are grouped with men, not with each other, i.e. the image itself runs proportionally much like the fest, demographically speaking. So, once again, when you focus on "the gays," you betray your bias.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02661128804094203410noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6960732812801813184.post-31394849418666291602007-09-27T13:41:00.000-06:002007-09-27T13:41:00.000-06:00"I think the only thing shocking is that groups ke..."I think the only thing shocking is that groups keep thinking it is soooo artsy to mock Christ, yet culturally insensitive to mock Islam."

You said it.

That they call it "art" too, is a sick mockery of the word.falcon_01https://www.blogger.com/profile/12757035581276689343noreply@blogger.com
