  2. The current round in what seems to be an unending set of conflicts appears different this time, somehow. I have some optimism that Israel's present strategy has some promise.

    Certainly those like me who are usually too quiet on such matters should have no problem viewing Hamas as the instigator or provocateur.

    My sense is that Hamas is well aware of the futility of picking a fight with the superior forces of Israel. This is simply another attempt by Hamas to try to look like a victim after starting a fight. Others like the Iranian weasel are only too happy to join in.
